  1. Thanks for the endorsements Smile :) Please notify me if you find typos. I found really embarrassing ones in the permissions, I reuploaded the file... Speaking of typos my FF spell checker (which I desperately need as you can see) doesn't work with the new forum software.
  2. Ok, first extended patch is up. This is my first upload to the Nexus, I hope I didn't screw anything up. Enjoy! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52207/? [edit] Second patch for extended is up: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52209/? I hope I can find the time to do Bring Out Your Dead soon.
  3. Without having tested anything: My guess would be that the patch still tries to load files from Ars Metallica causing the loading game to hang. Try installing Ars Metallica without the esp (so you got all the files) and see if the problem is still there.
  4. I would advise you to use my patch, put it after the STEP Extended patch in your load order. If you look at the master files, it's the exhaustive list of stuff forwarded, so you can throw out stuff like Requiem AOS patch, Requiem GDO patch etc. Diverse Priests is not needed if you use clothing and clutter fixes. Since you had no problem removing Ars Metallica, Extended needs some little forewarding: Copy the one overwritten entry from Consistent older People into the Requiem BOYD patch. Load it right before the bashed patch. Animated Weapon Enchants and Radiant and Unique Potions both need some forewarding too. You can either do it yourself (shouldn't be difficult if you know how to remove Ars Metallica entries) or wait till I release a patch, which should happen the next few days Did you check T5E for extended compatibility with the various weather and lighting mods? I couldn't find the time yet, but I bet there are a few entries overwritten. This is nothing gamebreaking or serious, you probably won't even notice but you might miss out some minor features.
  5. As far as Requiem compatibility goes it really doesn't matter in which order you load them as long as you load the patch last. All the entries where one mod overwrites the other are present in the patch (or should be, I double checked everything). So the entry in the patch gets loaded either way and that entry contains the information from both mods. T5E shows no conflicts with Skyforge Weapons and Appropriatly Attired Jarls. Generally speakiing all record conflicts should be resolved, aside from some WAF perk changes which could benefit Requiem. I do not fully understand perk scripting though so I just kept Requiem's changes for now (maybe Kryptopyr can help, I contacted her about this). There might be other script incompatibilities like with The Paarthurnax Dilemma but those are practically impossible to find without extensive testing. Animated Weapon Enchants accidentily slipped into the master list while adding some mods. The patch doesn't touch any conflicts of Requiem and Animated Weapon Enchants, those still need patching. I added Explosive Bolts Visualized now. The way I understand the object bounds they are used for clipping, so the ones from Explosive bolts are probably the best ones. This shouldn't break anything anyway. New Link: https://www.2shared.com/file/78yYgZ2W/STEP_Pack_Requiem_Patch.html
  6. That patch works, but afaik it doesn't forward some consistent older people changes (only 1 or 2 edits if I remember right). It isn't a big deal, but I'm a perfectionist :) Also some Hard Times changes will be overwritten by that patch, I'm planning to make a HT version as well. [edit] It's actually only one entry. I will have a look at MrFilipenko's patch and maybe ask him if he could host a Consistent Older People and a Hard Times version as well. For everyone interested the patch file is currently up on 2shared: https://www.2shared.com/file/IUSd7elo/STEP_Pack_Requiem_Patch.html Like stated in the readme a little testing with explosive bolts is required but I currently cannot do it (no GPU). If you find the time it would be nice if you could report the outcomes of shooting around with explosive bolts if: 1. Not using Explosive Bolts Visualized at all 2. Using Explosive Bolts Visualized and the test patch 1 2 Using Explosive Bolts Visualized and the test patch 2 The difference between 1 and 2 are object bounds, so it's subtle. I need input on which looks best and how well the bolts clipping behave in each version. Item ID's are 0200F1A0 0200F1B1 0200F1B7 0200F1B7 0200F1BB 0200F1BC Thank you for any input.
  7. Ninja'ed you first version of the patch is in your inbox Guys: If the patch is up, could you test the Explosive Bolts Visualized thing? That would be great! Version 1 is probably the right way to do it. [edit] My T5E research tells me the only 3 mods from extended needing any additional patching are: Bring Out Your Dead Animated Weapon Enchants Radiant and Unique Potions Bring out your dead will be tedious, the other two should be done in minutes. I will get to it when I get the time, those will be presented as Nexus patches btw, to keep things modular :)
  8. Well, if I was a mage I would probably summon some skeletons to train my magic a little. For the first few points it goes really fast. It doesn't make walking around as low level mage a cakewalk but it definitely helps. Wolves are fearsome opponents in Requiem because they are so freakin fast. Try to summon something or use a highground to kill them. Mind based crowd control really helps as well (fear, calm etc.).
  9. I just looked through the AOS comments for an update and found this: Is this issue handled by the STEP patches? Thanks in advance!
  10. As far as I can tell you do need clothing and clutter fixes for that patch. But Clothing and Clutter Fixes is accepted for STEP 2.2.9 anyway (makeing diverse priests redundant) so you might just go ahead and install it. It would really help if someone could find the time to test explosive bolts. I would like to know if Explosive Bolts Visualized is an improvement over Requiem's solution. If the answer is yes I would also like to know which mod's object bounds should be used (I would provide esp patches if you are not compfortable with doing the changes).
  11. I think there are too many subjective weather and lighting choices for Skyrim, it doesn't make much sense to include one into STEP (suggestions is another topic though). There already is a weather and lighting pack by Smile44 that includes what is probably the most popular solution. I hope I will release an ENB based weather and lighting pack soon, but my second GPU is broke too, that was kind of a bummer for my motivation.
  12. From what I read the VRM temps are mostly a problem if overclocking because the card will get less stable with higher VRM temps. My replacement card arrived today, it's completely broken (windows only boots in safe mode, bios post shows artifacts if normal boot failed) :( Never was this unlucky with hardware...
  13. Octopuss: I'm sorry to say this, but for the 290 I wouldn't go with DCU II. The VRMs get pretty hot and Asus uses Elpida VRAM on them. Afaik the Sapphire tri-x and Powercolor pcs+ (if you get one with Hynix) are best. But they don't have the custom Asus VRM, so they are more prone to coil whine (like my card, went to RMA). If you stick with the Asus card, make sure there is an HDD between the front intake in your case and the cooler fins, or the airflow in your case might work against the DCU II. That is probably why it performs worse in closed cases in some reviews.

Thank you Z, browsing the forums feels better now. I don't have a direct comparison, maybe I just got more used to it. I think it would help if the line breaks of subforums and forum descriptions would happen further to the right. It might also help to somehow make the visual difference between forum name and subforums/descriptions more distinct, especially if the field is highlighted. Or ditch the highlight alltogether, the way it is now I have an easier time getting an overview while scrolling down when my mouse is not highlighting the forum blocks. [Edit] The last paragraph is solved for me by minimizing the recent topics box. Sorry, for not having tried that first. Another suggestion would be to make the avatar area smaller. I think it takes too much space compared to the text (I really like simplistic tool layouts). The two bars at the top, one with the wiki/forums/members buttons and the lower one with login and user info could be merged imho. For me the recent topics list is mostly useless because the forum is too active to have a comprehensive list. I don't know how many users actually use it, could it be set to closed as default?
  15. Afaik Paralization from Spells in Skyrim is in the Illusion school. I'd assume those end when the victim dies. While Stiff (med: Spasmic) Paralization isn't uncommon the spasm usually wouldn't be strong enough to prevent movement if the force is great enough to throw the whole body through the air (like shown in the videos). I think this mod enhances realism overall.
  16. Sorry, I cannot answer you that question since I do not have some of those mods, and I didn't look into my leveled lists yet. About your weather solution: You might want to try Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB by Confidence-Man+ELFX+ELE https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50065/ https://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1930 (only use ELE - Interior Lighting.esp and ELE - Spell and Torch Lighting.esp, don't use the ELFX enhancer or exterior) I think it looks way better then CoT.
  17. Names and stats tags tag certain columns in T5E. In the case of a conflict the bashed patch will use the winning record and import the name column from the last loading mod that changes those and having the names tag. So if you want Requiem to win with names and stats, but don't want the names an stats from CCO, CCF and WAF get overwritten by other mods, just tag Requiem too (make sure it loads after those though). It's kind of an auto conflict resolving tool. You essentially create a second load list for all the columns affected by the tag (The Name (FULL) subrecord in Cell (CELL) records in the case of "Names") and in the end automatically import it into the normally winning record if neccessary. But sadly it doesn't carry the powerful functions from Oblivion anymore. I didn't know WryeSmash would even allow for Names and Stats tags. Leveled list tags work a little different. If a mod deletes items from the leveled lists and later gets overwritten, you have to tag it delev if you want that change to be carried forward. This is because the bashed patch normally imports all the entries from each mod (except for the duplicant ones) and puts it into a new leveled list. Same is true if a mod rearranges items in the leveled lists, otherwise those items will be doubled. To give a hypothetical example: You got a vanilla leveled list that contains item a at the range of lvl 5-10, item b at the range of 10-15. Mod M changes a to lvl 10-15 and b to 5-10, mod N adds item C at 15-20 but still has to carry the vanilla settings so they don't disappear. Without Relev the bashed patch will contain both a and b at 5-10 (from both mods) as well as a and b at 10-15 (appearing there in both mods again). Delev works with the same logic except for deleted leveled list entries. I'm pretty sure Requiem needs both tags and needs it's leveled list to be winning but I haven't looked it up in T5E. To look up what changes the tags carry forward you can see here: https://tesfans.org/guides/wrye%20bash/docs/Wrye%20Bash%20Advanced%20Readme.html#patch-tags Hope that wall of text helps.
  18. You need the model assignment and the body keywords from Improved Closefaced Helmets. It's like patching every other texture/model replacement but the biped body template entries from Requiem hide faces under guard helmets. So you need to use the ones from Improved Closefaced Helmets.

Since the other thread got locked and I couldn't find another topic of this sort I thought I'd just start it. I'm sitting about 2 meters from my 30" monitor, I have to zoom to compfortably read at that distance and my resolution. The line spacing of the forum seems fairly large, information is mostly spread vertically. When I zoom in to the point where the subforum list lines up with the right end of my monitor I can see only very few threads. This makes navigating the forums more complex for me because I can simply see less information at once with the same font size. I would much prefer if the boxes representing subforums would align with the right end of my browser, scaling with zoom and the recent topics would go elsewere. Also the palette option to the left of the forum distracts my vision. And maybe category headlines with more contrast would be desirable too. I say this without having tested any different themes, but I usually browse the forums as guest. [edit]Also line spacings and thus layout of posts appear different in the editor then they do in the post. It would be helpful if they didn't. Generally the font size seems small compared to the geometry of less important things in the forum (like avatars etc.)
  20. I love playing mages and this looks really interesting. Apparently some people seem to have issues with this mod. Are there people around here who have experience concerning stability?
  21. Hmm... I'm not really sure if it is clear what I mean: Take Opethfeldt ENB for example. It is an ENB. But it is also more then a classic post processor: It is also a weather mod that comes with it's own .esp for weather settings and specific settings for each weather (through helper.dll). While Skylight is most certainly a great ENB, it doesn't fall under this category. I'm not searching for ENB presets that work well with CoT, I'm searching for ENBs that are weather mods by themselves (or in conjunction with another download in the case of Vividian). That's also why I had difficulties finding the right place for the thread.
  22. The idea of this thread is to gather ENBs that are weather mods as well (and thus require the helper dll). If they are not built upon, and thus require, CoT (like Vividian) they will be incompatible with CoT because they are weather mods on their own :)
  23. Hey people, I'm thinking about starting an ENB based weather and lighting pack. ENB with the helper plugin allows for for more in depth weather tweaking then .esp based weather mods like CoT and I would like to present the alternatives. I'm not searching for ENB presets that work well with CoT, I'm searching for ENBs that are weather mods by themselves (or in conjunction with another download in the case of Vividian). Probably the most popular and afaik first ENB that makes in depth use of the ENB weather system is Opethfeldt's https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18941/? I'm eagerly anticipating the new version. In the meantime I did a little search around for alternatives. So far I found Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB by Confidence-Man https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50065/? Which looks very very promising! This might actually replace Opethfeldt's on my system, but I will have to compare them more in depth when my graphics card returns from RMA. Hopefully one of those is going to be compatible with an interior lighting mod. Afaik the ability of ENB for day/night detection and window lighting is limited. This is where extensive .esp mods have more possibilities (I like Serenity's solution here!) but if the ENB is not designed with that in mind, colors will be off. And Serenity ENB by prod80 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51343/? Which seems to be more cinematic then the other two. Cinematic ENBs are not really my cup of tea, but I really like the esp based lighting solution this one is based upon. Do you know more presets that make in depth use of the ENB weather system, i.e. are essentially weather mods as well as presets? [edit]Just found Vividian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement by Mangaclub and Benhat: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36067/? This seems to be a very weather focused ENB preset.
  24. There are actually several mods changing spell glow. Just search the nexus (got no particular at hand atm) :)
  25. The issue sounds really bogus. It might be that those HQ lod textures are just the sonic wall for ILS on your system. Or maybe the download is corrupt. Are you using Skyrim Memory Patch 3.0?
