  1. Out of curiosity: What do you mean by pack maintenance and integration (I think I saw 'support' as well)?
  2. As far as I understand it, The Paarthurnax Dilemma and Requiem incompatibilities are due to script changes. Sometimes they do not pop up on T5E because they are not changing the same entry. But if script A changes a variable to a state that script B cannot work with (in this case detect what decision you made in the quest) you still have a conflict.
  3. I didn't take a look at Azirok's patch but I would assume that it's sufficient to make the two compatible.
  4. Thank you! Very nice! Just saw that one buried under the complete crafting overhaul patch :)
  5. A little gem addressing an immersion issue: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47332/? I dunno how compatible it is with popular lighting mods like RLO or ELFX (I'm on RS+ELE).
  6. @Octopuss: Yes for the 280x the Asus Top is the clear winner. Problem is, this really is card specific, on the 290x the DCU II is insufficient and the VRM reaches over 110°. Powercolor is known for using quality components lately (using a lot of hynix ram and not so cheap capacitors on their VRM) I'd check them out as well.
  7. I will probably earn a lot of hate for this but I don't like distortion guitar. I'm into 90' and 2000' RnB because I really like to dance, especially with girls. It's the kind of music where you can show them what to expect if they come home with you ;) Some examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzSAnwE5l7E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcIvIladNnQ
  8. Well, for me it's neither and I wouldn't like a lighting solution to be part of STEP:Extended. There are just too many options that are strong on one side while they do have downsides on the other. I'm currently with Opethfeldt ENB which is incompatible with imagespace changing lighting mods so far. But what it does to the exterior lighting, especially weathers is just amazing, for me it's unchallanged amongst ENBs and truly shows off what can be done with ENB (full version 7 is probably released in the next few weeks). I'm sincerely hoping it will have ELE imagespaces support one day. If ELE gets finished one day it will probably be the biggest contender for STEP inclusion.
  9. I generally think the 270x is great value. It might not be enough to run an extensive mod list with a performance heavy enb though, but this depends on your screen resolution. For the best 270x you probably have to spend some time reading reviews. I would look for noise levels (they are never absolute, but you can see find out if the xfx is louder then the msi) and temperatures. Essentially compare which cooler gets you the best temps at the lowest noise. Techpowerup, techreport, tomshardware, anandtech, guru3d are some important review sites but there are a lot more. Also the quality of components is noteworthy. MSI seems a very good choice for a 270x. As far as I know the 270x is not much faster then a 7700 series card though but I haven't read a lot about those cards as I'm going for a performance option (290).
  10. Thank you! The last versions apparently did some changes to skin colors, maybe there are new edits of this type that need forwarding. Not doing that won't really break anything though.
  11. Azirok, how did you implement WAF and CCF? Are their changes already part of HT in places where they conflict or did you adjust some things with your conflict resolution file?
  12. I'm not really sure that removing SoS is really the end of it. What about Realistic Bow Sounds? Having shot some arrows myself AOS' bow sounds are very realistic, maybe it can be removed as well. This is pretty much from the top of my head but if I remember right AOS has received a lot of kudos for it's shout sounds. As far as I know AOS doesn't cover creature sounds yet. But don't quote me on the last two, it's been some time since I read those things and I'm not entirely sure it's accurate.
  13. I didn't have a look at it yet but I bet it's most likely a yes. Azirok is updating very frequently at the moment :) I will have a look at it soonish, I got a difficult math exam next week though so I cannot promise anything.
  14. There seems to be someone one the nexus who already had an indepth look into this. He made 9 presets for different hardware and different fov. Low: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19632/? Medium: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/283/? Ultra: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7638/? His video about LOD shadow issues (seems to be FOV dependent): Since ENB boost is very desirable anyway and there is a shadow fix ENB boost version out there, wouldn't it be best to use that instead of ini tweaking? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50244
  15. I remember a post from LoRdKoRn explaining that this is indeed an engine limitation.
  16. Well, I suppose that depends on the country and shops. Here in Germany it's ~350€ for the EVGA 770 with 4 gb ~275€ for the Asus 280x TOP (best 280x out there!) Gigabyte 770 with 4 gb is ~320€ but that one got pretty bad user ratings on Geizhals. But I didn't look up MSRP prices and you usually pay more premium for EVGA here.Geizhals user ratings have been relatively reliable for me over the past maybe you should have a second look. Techpowerup usually takes a closer looks to the components. I'd also see other review for the stuff I pointed out. I think I will start a new thread on the ati vs nvidia thing [edit] Well, I did decide against it because I have insufficient knowledge and backup to explaining the difference between ATI and NVidia architecture to start such a project. A friend of mine explained it in great detail, I'll try to sum it up anyway: ATI generally has the more "intelligent" architecture which is more flexible but harder to program and requires higher clock speeds (thus more power). Nvidia has an architecture with a more parallel logic which is worse at most other tasks then drawing geometry (but requires less power and has bigger chips allowing better cooling). That's the main reason ATI is so much better at computing tasks. Mantle will help using this architecture (how useful this is for an ATI card owner depends on the games supporting this though) and it's probably better suited for future game's tasks. Driver support for NVidia is better though.
  17. If you are dead set on going NVidia the 770 is probably the most expensive card that makes sense buying as it is close in performance and price to the 280x. The 280x is probably more "future proof" though because of it's much better compute power. I've made bad experiences with Gigabyte cards in the past though. I would read more then a few reviews for pitfalls like VRM temps, voltlocks, elpida ram etc. of Gigabyte cards.
  18. As did I :)I was hoping he would be willing to include Kryptopyr's fixes into Hard Times, but he hasn't responded to that idea yet. If I remember right he wanted to have a little pause after doing Interesting NPCs.
  19. Those screenshots really show the downside of lowering view distance. But higher view distances will always look better on screenshots and you really picked an unfavorable angle there. I'd have to make a comparison video to show the difference on cell transitions. But since I got no GPU able to handling Skyrim at the moment (sold my 280x and still waiting for custom 290s), I can't :( Performance was not a consideration when doing those tweaks, the difference was barely noticeable. I just generally like fewer things appearing on cell transitions and more things fading then the other way round. Both have a tradeoff. As you said, lod textures with better blending would help with the end-of-cell-seams, as would Distant Overhaul and ugrids (with the new memory patch).
  20. Thank you for your detailed report! It's not easy to get a full view of Requiem's features. What I know is a combination of testing, Nexus comments, Youtube videos and T5E conflict resolution. I didn't read the full manual as I (like you) didn't find it too helpful for a full feature list. It's more geared towards people who wish to know how to play Requiem rather then extended conflict resolution. Convenient Horses does have some features on top of Requiem, but Requiem incorporates two key features: combat behavior and saddlebags. I honestly don't know exactly how to make Convenient Horses features show up in Requiem. But since a good portion of it's features is covered by Requiem I simply decided to go with what Ogerboss and Xarrian had in mind. BOYD has an extensive list of conflicts because both Requiem and BOYD touch a lot of NPC records. It's rather easy (but at times tedious and time consuming because of the sheer amount of records) to resolve though, just copy over the BOYD scripts to the Requiem entries. Well, I think there is a reason why you either have to learn alteration or lockpicking in order to open locks in Requiem. It changes game balance if you haven't. But of course if you prefer it that way feel free to use it. @ Pirate: Like Jake already pointed out Azirok has a Requiem USKP version available. Hard Times also incorporates USKP. Are you sure the issue is USKP related? If yes, it would be great if you could file a conflict report over hat the Requiem Nexus boards (there is a conflict thread, maybe you could point out Azirok's patch as resolution if it helped you). A game crashing USKP conflict seems very important to know about.
  21. Thank you for the explanation! But that leads to another question: If you plan in 1 GB for system memory, 4gb for Skyrim and 3gb for textures, shouldn't 8 GB be enough? Especially since not all allocated memory is really used in physical memory (so maybe my 6 GB are enough...)? [edit]Ninja'ed
  22. Ok, sorry, I misunderstood. I didn't want to come off as having a sense of mission.
  23. Before I get myself an new 12 GB triple channel kit: The way I understood this is that it changes the way Skyrim allocates ram (not the amount it allocates) to help prevent crashes. I don't really understand how Skyrim is able to allocate more then 4 GB ram with this since it's still a 32 bit application. Not that I don't believe it's possible, I simply lack the understanding. And I'd like to know what's going on before spending 100€ ;) As far as I know you need both (dll+enbhost from the wrapper folder).
