Another CTD when loading older save from menu using DLL with timestamp 2025/04/01 03:51 AM. This CTD happened after a quite lot of game save loads. Too many to count. DynDOLOD.log --> https://ufile.io/6z62l8t9 I will try without DynDOLOD.DLL now.

Yes, I re-enabled both of those mods after a CTD still occurred with each mod disabled. I will disable both per your request and continue my playthrough with debuglevel=5. CTD when loading older save from menu using DLL with timestamp 2025/03/31 15:31 PM. As before, CTD happens on third load. First two loads were successful. CTD when loading older save from menu using DLL with timestamp 2025/04/01 03:51 AM. CTD happened after many loads...maybe after 6th or 7th time.

Unfortunately, still a CTD on loading a save from the menu. Loaded 2 saves successfully and then the third load resulted in a CTD.

Copied my MO2 profile, downloaded new DynDOLOD DLL NG v34 and installed, added debuglevel=2, disabled Storm Lightning (confirmed it's the latest version from March 16th), CTD occurred when loading save 135 after loading a few other saves first. Next, I will test with RC11 SPID and Storm Lightning re-enabled. CTD again with RC11 SPID when loading save from menu. CTD with SPID disabled and loading save from menu. This CTD occurred while roaming around outside on Solstheim. No game save loading involved. No combat. No death. Just exploring. I did just load a previous game save from the menu about 1 minute prior to the CTD however.

Interesting. I completed the More Than You Can Chew quest where Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages says those boots are obtained from. I have the book Crafting with Netch Leather and have read it but don't have Boots of Blinding Speed. However, I did loot the Painted Netch Armor set from the same chest the book was in. I did clean ccbgssse041-netchleather.esl using xEdit's QuickAutoClean executable. And I am using Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) per the STEP guide. When that CTD occurred, I was killed by a Bull Netch and the game crashed when it attempted to auto load the last save. EDIT: I just read that those boots are obtained by going to Fort Hraggstad and looting a chest just inside the fort's main entrance. I have not been to Fort Hraggstad yet. But USEP makes it sound like once you craft the netch armor set, the Boots of Blinding Speed are no longer available... I was trying to find where that (Optional) Search Fort Hraggstad miscellaneous quest disappeared from my journal and when I attempted to load an older save (Save133_F20216DB_0_5261676E6172_DLC2SolstheimWorld_001946_20250330200445_19_1) the game crashed. EDIT: Crash is not repeatable. Also, the "Craft A Set Of Netch Leather Armor Or (Optional) Search Fort Hraggstad" miscellaneous quest completed once I killed one of Mogrul's Thugs and looted their Shadowed Netch Leather Armor set. My previous CTD happened shortly after this moment when I was killed by a Bull Netch. Well somewhat not repeatable. While it didn't crash again on loading the 133 save, it did crash on loading the 134 save. And again on loading save 136.

CTD with 34 test version and removed [Resets]. Missed the edit about debug=true. Will change that now. EDIT: Haven't been able to CTD my playthrough since setting debug=true. I'll continue playing tomorrow.

So after enabling all the mods I mentioned in my last post as well as the DynDOLOD output and removing everything below [Resets] in DynDOLOD_NG_Tamriel.txt, a CTD happened in about 10-20 minutes. I was inside Kagrumez. My character died and the CTD happened while loading the last save.

I just realized I also had disabled DynDOLOD Resources SE 3, DynDOLOD DLL NG, Majestic Mountains DynDoLod 3 Pack, Aspens Ablaze Add-On - DynDOLOD 3, and Glacier LOD Meshes. I was troubleshooting and forgot to re-enable those. Not sure if having any of those disabled contributed to the stableness of my last 10 hour playthrough.

Played for about 10 hours straight today with no DynDOLOD output. No CTDs.

ACCEPTED Worldspace Transition Tweaks (by AndrealphusVIII)
Kattmandu replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
How can I remove the dependency of this mod from the STEP CR patch? There seems to be a bug on Solstheim near Bloodskal Copse where the LOD drops out. Only way to disable WTT is to disable the STEP CR patch which means disabling a bunch of other mods as well.- 80 replies

This first CTD was going from the interior of Fort Frostmoth to the exterior (rooftop of tower). None of the CTDs have repeatability. Once Skyrim is restarted, the CTD never happens again in the same exact location. It always happens after a bit more playing. The second CTD was in the interior of Ashfallow Citadel when my follower, Teldyrn Sero, started to attack a Morag Tong Assassin. I have had CTDs happen in both interior and exterior spaces. Most recent CTDs (before the two mentioned above) were while fighting a Riekling on mountain and while fighting a Bull Netch on an island during the Put A Fork In It quest.

CTD with the test DLL as well.

Just had a CTD happen upon opening a hatch to the top of a tower. Should I regenerate new LOD files with the test DynDOLOD DLL in my load order or just continue playing with the current LOD files and the test DLL?

Okay, sorry, I'm just a pleb, didn't know about enabling papyrus in Skyrim.ini. It's enabled now. Will post the Papyrus.0.log after some play time. I really don't assume anything. Just reporting my experience. I have been playing Skyrim off an on for the past year with CTDs. Been trying to pinpoint the cause but have had no success. I have started many new games and generated LOD files every time for each new play through following the LOD instructions in step 7 of the STEP guide using the NG scripts and DLL. CTDs have happened on every new playthrough after about 5-10 hours. I have deleted the Skyrim game folder as well as the config folder in documents, downloaded fresh files from Steam, created new MO2 instances and profiles, reinstalled every single mod and utility, and still get CTDs. So recently, I started a new playthrough and only installed a minimal amount of mods from the STEP guide, no grass cache, no LOD files, no ENB, etc. I played for days without a single CTD. As soon as I generated LOD files using the NG scripts and DLL on that playthrough, a CTD happened almost immediately after my character died and the game auto loaded the last save. I then re-generated the LOD files using SE scripts and DLL and no CTDs occurred. I still have no idea what the cause is. I'm not assuming it's the fault of NG. Just reporting what is happening while pulling out all of my hair. The spell casting CTD happened on an older playthrough. Hasn't happened in a while. Just reporting my past CTD experiences.

Okay, I'll just start a new playthrough with the latest LOD files I generated using NG scripts and DLL. The CTDs usually occur when my character dies and the game auto loads the last save. However, on a new playthrough, it might not happen for 5-10 hours. Once I get that first CTD though, they happen more often. Sometimes the crashes occur when spells are being cast. I recall on a previous playthrough that a lightning cast was often causing CTDs. I have verified that CTDs did not occur on a playthrough until I generated LOD files. But once I switched to SE instead of NG, the CTDs stopped occurring. Here are some logs from that new playthrough (no crashes yet)

Here is the Debug log. Is there a preferred text sharing site to use when files are too large to upload here? https://limewire.com/d/CX6DF#f8r6ew7zAa (link expires in 7 days) Since I have been using the SE scripts and DLL as well, I'm not sure if this DynDOLOD log was generated under the SE or NG scripts. Is this the correct forum to discuss DynDOLOD DLL NG? It would seem I'm getting CTDs when using the NG scripts and DLL but not when using the SE scripts and DLL. I follow the STEP guide when generating the LOD. https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:2.3#LOD_Setup Here is my Crash Logger crash log when using NG... My NG TexGen log and DynDOLOD log were overwritten when I generated the LOD files using the SE scripts and DLL so I can't include those at this moment.

CTD when loading save
Kattmandu replied to Kattmandu's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
I'm going to go out on a limb at this point and say using the SE version stopped the CTDs from occurring. So now, I suppose I'll enable all the mods including ENB and regenerate the LOD using the SE scripts and DLL. -
CTD when loading save

NG is simpler to use? Should I have completed extra steps when generating LOD with the SE scripts and DLL? -
CTD when loading save
Kattmandu replied to Kattmandu's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
I'm curious, what is different with the NG scripts and DLL? Why does the STEP guide prefer to use NG scripts and DLL over the SE ones? Testing the SE scripts and DLL now. With a short amount of gameplay, no crashes yet so far. Sometimes that can take an hour or so on an existing save though. But I saved right before dying so it's in a constant loop of dying and loading the latest save over and over.
