I used to use Headbomb's Better Sorting and was quite surprised that it is not included in STEP, until I searched the forums and came accross Mod With Errors thread :)

Quite recently I noticed eclips3's Better Sorting mod on Nexus and was planning to try it out with my next playthrough, but I have now reinstalled Skyrim and then decided to follow STEP. So I've never actually used eclips3's BS mod, but I think it's worth checking out.

What are your thoughts guys? Has anyone tried this mod yet?

I would still like Better Sorting looked at as an alternative sorting mod from SkyUI. I actually skipped over SkyUI in STEP after reviewing it. I, and I'm sure there are others, actually like the vanilla UI. I consider SkyUI is be a UI overhaul as it completely diverts from the vanilla UI; thus, Better Sorting would be a good alt for those just wanting to clean up the vanilla UI a bit. I'll be checking it out on my next installation of STEP.

That was my response... the Vanilla UI is horrendous, but to each his own I suppose.

The Vanilla UI is good for the console's but utterly useless for the PC thats why SkyUI was made and is geared towards the PC once i used SkyUI there was never going back to the kiddy/console safe vanilla UI. SkyUI might just be too advanced for some. Anyways to each there own

Personally, holding out for SkyUI sorting. I have a feeling that it's sorting function will be completed via SKSE. Better Sorting and such mods are rife to conflict with many mods that make changes to items/weps/armor/etc...

I loaded the "Ultimate" single file version of Better Sorting by eclips3 and loaded it near the bottom of my load order. Ran it through TES5Edit for conflict detection and and as expected, overwrote all the "balance" changes introduced by other mods, so I dumped it.

Lots and lots of compatibility patches would have to be created, even for mods such as the USKP. A mod trumping USKP changes for the sake of better organizing? I'll deal with the unsorted lists and keep my fixes.

headbombs better sorting, made selecting mods for my 260+ modded skyrim a chore, it took up nearly a dozen esp spots in the list when combined with the compatability patches for other mods. Since removing it & using SkyUI only, I have not missed it. You don't need a sorting mod when skyUI allows sorting by equip/stolen/enchanted, weight, armor, value & the choices for magic menu also. those sorting options just mentioned IMHO overrule any aesthetic preferences people may have considering SkyUI Vs. Vanilla. SkyUI does the job well.

Peace.
