Mysterious fog... Everywhere.

Hi,
 
So I just finished installing STEP basically it's entirety and this happens when I load up the game:

Even the smoke on the loading screens is weird.

What's that about? I disabled just the mods which are likely to affect smoke (enhanced fire and embers, weather ones etc.) and it remained. I disabled ALL my mods and started a new save and it remained.
 
I am running a GTX 560Ti with the latest stable Nvidia drivers.

I am just running ENBoost. I was planning to install an ENB based on the performance I would get from all the mods I was installing.

That's the options there. You think it could be from enbboost? Is there a global setting to disable it to see if that fixes things?

to

 

ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 or 256

VideoMemorySizeMb=10240

 

if you're running 64 bit windows try setting ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true

Don't change the memory settings if you're getting smooth gameplay. Those settings are personalized per system and could be different for your system. They'll have nothing to do with this issue anyway. But do change differed rendering to false.

True, true, but I always worked on 10240 being a max. Has that changed?

Did you create a vanilla save before installing mods? If so, disable all mods or change to your vanilla profile in MO and start a game. If that works, re-enable the mods section by section to narrow down the mods. Once you have it narrowed down to a STEP section, then you can narrow it down to a specific mod

Yes, you can technically go up to 128GB now, but there's no need. That parameter is basically telling enbhost.exe how much system RAM it can use.

I backed up the entirety of vanilla Skyrim as recommended in the step guide, to my second hard drive. I should revert to that, with all mods disabled... Launch this vanilla Skyrim as I have been doing through MO and then re-enable mods section by section, right? I don't have to delete mods and start again?

But even when I do that, the fog remains, as I mentioned in my OP. Which is weird because surely it is a mod causing it...? ENB is the only thing not dealt with by MO after all, iirc.

Try disabling ENBoost, and see if you still get fog.

 

Was the actual install done on a clean directory?
