EssArrBee Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 The Bridge. MC Escher type puzzle game for $1. Today only, or until 10am Pacific I think.
Ganda Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Sky Rogue. A rogue air fighter game, still in early alpha but pretty fun already. Pay what you want format for the alpha!
Spock Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I'm surprised noone mentioned Dwarf Fortress. It takes a little while to learn what does what but beware, extreme time sink! If you want to get into the game, I'd recommend PreidexisErrant's Starter Pack. If you are looking for a tutorial I'd pick the one by Zemalf.
phazer11 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 For any of you lollygaggers out there who don't have all of the dlcs already Skyrim Legendary edition is on sale for $13.59
EssArrBee Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Kingdom of amular is well worth a Lincoln too if you want another RPG.

We will notify the winner after voting closes on the 20th October 2014." Which is cool, but I'm not seeing anything about free Xcom :-( Thanks for the link anyway :-)

Good looking out Ess! I can amuse myself with that free copy of Tropico 3 - Steam Special Edition, and there's a Crusader Kings II Demo free through the weekend and the full verison is discounted on the Steam store. UPDATE: Well, Crusader Kings, while historically interesting (especially given my genealogical connection to Hardrada) and beautifully presented (my cartographic needs both stimulated and satisfied) was to much a battle of the spreadsheets for me.I did find a demo for the Hegemony Greece game, which was much more to my liking. It retails for $20 usd on Steam and its sequel Hegemony Rome for $30. This franchise hits the Sim/RTS sweet spot for me (I'll spare you an off topic review here, just check out the demo if you have any interest in RTS games). If it goes on sale I'll post a proper link here, right now its inexpensive but not free or cheap (yet). Edited October 9, 2014 by redirishlord
EssArrBee Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Dragon age origins and some dlc. Just follow directions in OP of this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/2iocfn/origin_on_the_house_dragon_age_origins_free/
redirishlord Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) You are a wealth of information, kudos (oh, wait, that's the other website). Thanks! UPDATE: I played Dragon Age Origins back when on console and thought it was the usual effort by Bioware (good story, fair execution of established game mechanic). I played through two opening stories last night (stayed up way past my bed time as a matter of fact) and absolutely loved the game. I don't know if it was the change from console to pc format that made the difference, or if I just gave the game a proper chance, but I'm loving this. Origin may owe EssArrBee a commission on the next two Dragon Age as I'm considering buying them next. Edited October 9, 2014 by redirishlord 1
TechAngel85 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Woohoo! Got my copy of free XCOM: Enemy Unknown today!
Neovalen Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Dragon Age origins is one of my favorite games of all time. Doing a play through soon to prepare for DA:I as a refresher also started a guide on the wiki for modding in case it wasn't noted... Still very much WIP. Congrats Tech, Xcom is a lot of fun and addicting... If disheartening as the aliens wipe you out. Lol

It was on my mind to do one. The only game I've done a Guide for is for Mass Effect. It's a light Guide and linked in my sig. Though, as far as I know, it won't work with the Steam version of Mass Effect due to Steam's file verification. You have to edit the .exe and Steam doesn't agree with that. I wish they'd build in an option for modders to turn that off on certain games. Would need a loader like the one for FNV for Steam users to be able to use the one mod included in the Guide.
