Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD

What is this?

DynDOLOD is a set of tools based on TES5Edit and TES5LODGen to automatically create a Skyrim mod based on the load order which adds distant LOD for objects to Skyrim. By combining DynDOLOD with TES5LODGen users can create drastically enhanced traditional static LOD plus tree LOD and the new, optional dynamic distant object LOD in a few 'simple' steps.

DynDOLOD is meant for enthusiast modders who are familiar with using TES5Edit. Enthusiast modders have a general knowledge of computers, folders and files, especially Skyrims 'Data' folders and how to install mods safely with a manager or manually.

To fully expand the visual experience and use the additional features offered by TES5LODGen the DynDOLOD package comes with over 1000 new or updated LOD models for objects that were badly missing from the original game like the Skyhaven Temple or landscape features like roads, smaller rocks and dirt cliffs that simply make the distant landscape look much more natural and alive.

Requirements

SKSE

PapyrusUtil 2.8 or higher

DynDOLOD Resources - Make sure to use DynDOLOD Resources version only with matching or higher DynDOLOD Standalone versions but never with older versions.

Vanilla Skyrim LOD Billboards from TES5LODGen or Indistinguishable Vanilla Tree Billboards. If using tree mods that do not include billboards, check TES5LODGen for ready-to-use tree LOD billboards for some tree mods. For STEP users all billboards are included in STEP Texture Compilation.

I'm having a weird problem running the DynDOLOD TexGen script.

 

I'm using SR:LE from this wiki as my guide, following it EXACTLY.  

 

I get the DynDOLOD TexGen step... and when I run it i get "Records Processed:  0; Time Elapsed:  00:00".

 

No error message, no crash.  It just doesn't find anything to process.  But I've loaded all the mods.  I've got the Billboards for Vanilla, Vurts, and RAT installed and activated.  Yet nothing.  When I go to run the Worlds script it runs okay, but it can't find a lot of the LODs for certain trees, i'm guessing because the first script didn't work.

 

I've watched the Quick Launch video and followed the steps in Neovalen's guide to the letter.  No idea what I'm doing wrong.

I'm following the NON-MO tutorial and every time I try to apply script and the LODGeneratorCMD opens I get an error message: "LODGeneratorCMD has stopped working". This has driven me crazy for a day or so. I tried running as an administrator and creating a new output folder in my C-driver but with the same result.

You said "search the lod nifs file content for those". I didn't really understand. Is there a way to search nifs by content?

 

I've saved a copy of the mountainslab lod as dyndolod01 and it's sorted it for now I think, but I'm sure you'll want to know about any weird results all the same.

However this should be easier. As it seems limited to one type of mountaincliff01 to mountaincliff04 just delete those loose files. You could check the LOD mountain filenames the current DynDOLOD archive contains and remove any loose file that isn't in the latest download.

Once deleted, the correct vanilla versions from the bsa will be used.

You have a mod that updates that file. If you can find it delete the file. It may be "hidden" in a BSA. Then download blackreacheceiling01_lod.7z unpack into DynDOLOD to overwrite.

DynDOLOD TexGen needs to be able to read textures. Most likely a configuration problem with MO?

 

Please post/upload TES5Edit\LODGen_log.txt

 

Not seeing tree LOD for trees is another problem since DynDOLOD TexGen has nothing to do with tree LOD.

You need to use DynDOLOD 1.44 with xEdit 170815 or newer. If problem continues post copy/screenshot of error message of LODGen.exe.

Many Thanks Sheson For The File......But I Have Caves Instead Of Cave.....(In One Of Your Posts Before U Said Thats Not Problem)

Should I Create Cave Folder And Copy The File There Or Copy The File In Caves Folder.....(I Have No File Named Like This In Meshes Folder)

Create Cave folder and keep folder structure and filename as it is in the archive I linked so it correctly overwrites the problematic nif. Edited by sheson

Forgot that xEdit stood for TES5Edit. Anyway, I already have version 3.1.2 and this problem.

I checked the LOGGen_log.txt and I'm probably doing something wrong because the file is just a blank screen - there's nothing written in there. Correct me if I'm wrong but the file usually says the same thing that the black window in the left of the image above says, right?

It is OK that it is empty because LODGen stopped before it could write anything useful.

 

Are you certain you are using both DynDOLOD 1.44 and xEdit 170815 or newer?

All recent dev versions posted to www.afkmods.com report as 3.1.2 regardless. Maybe get the newest xEdit 180815 to doublecheck.

 

When you apply script in TES5Edit the first log line should be

"DynDOLOD Worlds 1.44 using TES5LODGen by Ehamloptiran, Sheson and Zilav, starting..."

 

If problem persists, please upload TES5Edit\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\cache\DynDOLOD_alt_textures_blackreach.txt

Thanks Alot Sheson For Your Big Helps And Supports, My Problem Fixed By That Blackreach Nif File You Uploaded,And Many Thanks To ZilaV For His New Version Of The xEdit That Really Helped Me Through This Problem.......
