11. ## DynDOLOD/Texture Gen permission error

So recently, I watched a YouTube video on how to install DynDOLOD, and everything worked fine up until running both executables (DynDOLOD.exe & TexGen.exe) within MO. But I get an error saying that "An error occured while loading modules. Editing is disabled. Check the message log and correct the error." I've tried running both the programs as administrator, but they still don't work and they still show errors. I also got this error in the TexGen messages window. "Fatal: <Exception: Can not find required file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\hardcoded\Skyrim.Hardcoded.dat>" If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
12. ## TexGen "not found" error preventing me from completing DynDOLOD

I finally decided to board the DynDOLOD train and have been following GamerPoet's excellent walk through for Oldrim (non-SE) on PC. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at the TexGen step and continually receive the following error message: textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbarkcompsnow_n.dds not found! It's as if TexGen can't get started. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? I'm running TexGen from within MO, have unchecked "Have MO manage archives," and made sure my skyrim.ini file accurately reflects GamerPoet's copy-pasta. I also have Skyrim, SKSE, DynDOLOD, etc. installed to a non-special folder. I've been researching for hours and can't find even a hint of a solution. Any advice would be immensely appreciated! 13. ## TexGen cannot find textures

Hello everyone. Im trying to install DynDOLOD with the help of the tutorials, but im stuck with TexGen. For some reason it cannot find certain files and because of that cannot finish the process. Im useing NMM. I also attached the screenshot of the error message.
14. ## Exact TexGen capabilities ?

Hi, Opening a separate thread as this isn't exactly for conventionnal use, and because TexGen is a bit of his own tool which don't have its dedicated mega thread. Sorry if that was a bad idea. So, I was hoping I could be lazy: I have a set of retextured vanilla cliffs/mountain/etc (Basicaly anything that use MountainSlab texture) which are their own forms (as in, at the end of the day, I want to have access to both the regular vanilla meshes, and the retextured ones, not just a simple retex). Now, to give them LOD... My idea was to copy paste the vanilla LOD into its own folder, give the files proper prefix, and then point my new duplicated forms to them. After that, I would batch edit the texture path on those LODs nifs to point to new lod textures matching the mountainslab. In order to make work quick and easy, rather than editing dozen of low rez textures, or re-decimating the retextured nifs (because I actually need to do this not once, but for 3 full sets...), I hoped I could simply override the vanilla mountainslab texture with those new ones, run TexGen, and that it would give me all the textures I need. Problem is: Aside from high detail LOD using the normal texture, those have their own dedicated texture. For instance, mountaincliff02_lod_1.nif use MtnCliff02LOD.dds. I hoped TexGen would be able not only generate mountainslablod.dds but all those needed variant as well (which I could then rename / move to a different folder, and use for retextured LODs). But it didn't. Was this just a too optimistic assertion on my end, or did I failed something in my process ? I haven't modded Skyrim in a while, so I apologize if I missed something obvious, but I'm almost sure that if I download a simple retex for the mountainslab, running texgen and rebuilding LOD would allow me to have all mountain LOD levels properly textured as well ?
15. ## Lod Texture Output

HI, I havn't found much info about Texgen Lod texture output formats Diffuse Alpha / Diffuse Normal Specular / Normal When do i chance to by example BC1/2/3 or unchanged? If i create a texgen output, and use certain mods, do i need to consider stuff? if i pick unchanged, will i have issues with certain textures? because texgen needs to overwrite textures from certain mods, will i lose certain effects?
16. ## TexGen.exe detecting Enderal even though Enderal is not installed

Hello. My friend is having issues with TexGen detecting Enderal, even though he does not have Enderal installed. TexGen displays "Ender found..." in the log, then begins searching for Enderal textures and errors out when it can't find the non-existent textures. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What could be the cause? I was wondering, does TexGen detect Enderal by looking for a regeistry key? While he doesn't have ENderal installed anymore, my firen d did have Enderal installled a while back, and he just deleted the files. If the Enderal launcher created a registry key and TexGen looks for this to detect the mod, that might be the issue. Otherwise, I'm stumped...
17. ## DynDOLOD.exe "not responding" during generation

As title said, not responding. What do I do? Should I close the window, and run the x64 version? I'm Win10 64. I have proper billboards for SFO and Vanilla. Using MO. Locked up during "Saving Trees LOD Files: DLC2SolstheimWorld "Solstheim""
18. ## DynDOLOD TexGen Stream Read Error

I'm a bit new to the forum, so please let me know if I do anything wrong... I have followed STEP Extended and am now on DynDOLOD. However, when I attempt to run DynDOLOD TexGen (as in the Generate LODs section), I get the following error: Error copying textures\defaultdiffuse.dds to D:\Skyrim Utils\DynDOLOD\TexGen_Output\textures\DynDOLOD\lod\defaultdiffuse.dds Stream read error I have attached the full log, any help would be appreciated. Please let me know if any additional information is needed. TexGen_log.txt

20. ## DynDOLOD - How to apply "TexGen" in TES5Edit?

Hello, STEP-Community! After I followed the STEP 2.2.9.2 Guide completely (!), I arrived at the Patches-Section (2.N.). I then followed the installation Guide for DynDOLOD. The installation worked just fine (downloading, extracting, copying, installing). But the "Generate LODs" section makes me sweat... DynDOLOD is the last mod in the load order. TES5Edit, launched via MO, works (I'm not sure wich version to use, though people talk about "xEdit"/ a developers version from TES5Edit). I use version 3.1.2 at the moment. Step 3, 4 and 5 are obvious - everything's still fine. But in step 6 "In the drop-down box, choose DynDOLOD TexGen and click [OK]" trouble started.. There's no such option as TexGen (or anything with DynDOLOD included in the name). I found LODGen and hoped it was the right one.. It obviously isn't. When I run the "LODGen" option fom the dropdown menu, a window opens: (https://postimg.org/image/fgfcaq3gn/). A click on "OK" seems to run a script. after some time, an error occurs: (https://postimg.org/image/gctbtvvij/ - the right side shows what I get after clicking on "Details") Until now, Google didn't quite help me.. Does anyone have an idea how to apply DynDOLOD Scripts correctly? In-game, in the MCM, DynDOLOD tells me it has no data in the DynDOLOD.esp. I hope, I gave you all important information. here's my PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Spartanary/builds/#view=Yg9WGX modwat.ch seems to be down or something.. but I installed all mods from the STEP-Guide. I hope I gave you enough information - I really don't know how to fix that (or what to do, if nothing has to be fixed).. Maybe I'm just totally blind right now.. Thanks for everyone helping me!! sincerely, Spartanary
