dread, can your personal conflict resolution patches be merged?  I'm at the end of following your suggestions and need to cut back on some esps and I've merged everything that there's instructions for, but I'm still a bit past 255.

Probably but I haven't tried. Merge them (untick renumbering), restart tes5 and check for errors. If there are no errors you are good to go. Beards.esp and brows.esp can be merged.

 

Edit: my personal patches can probably be merged with the mmo patches too.

Edit: I usually played with Dragon combat overhaul, living takes time and better vampires. They are temporarily disabled while I'm looking for the mod that causes script latency.

The mods name is "Traps Make Noise - More Dangerous Traps" which has both plugins, traps make noise and traps are dangerous. I'll check my install instructions tonight, the mod seems to have been updated since I made them. You should probably install just the "traps make noise and are dangerous" version and the follower trapp safety patch.

I've tried to remove some heavy script mods and tested some lower textures but wasn't able to fix high script latency.

I thought that with my rig i could handle that much but it's not fluid as I want.

So I think I will have to start over.

This time I'll begin with gameplay mods instead and only then start installing the graphical ones.

 

Guess real RPG is this: I seems that I'm only playing Skyrim in my head. It's all about imagination like D&D old times

The vurts test doesnt reliably test anything

Really? I was about to start stress testing using both Vurt's and another where you run around in god mode at a fast speed (but not as fast as flying around). big loops, trying to load most areas of the game until it either crashes or my wife tells me that I have to choose, her or skyrim....

 

Anyway, can you (1) give us the low down on why it doesn't test anyting? and (2) recommend a good test(s) for stability?

It the whole vurts thing was just talked about

Vurt's stress test and STEP:Extended

All it does is stress the engine and isn't reliable or consistent.

That reliable or consistent part is quite critical.

and I am slightly biased

 

If you are testing several NEW mods and you use the vurts test and follow a specific path and receive a crash after 20min.

the second time 20min

the third 8min

the fourth 1hr

...

all with the same LO

this shows that it isn't consistent at all

Now my experience with it (this was back when I didnt really understand what I was doing and without memory patch 3.0)

I tested several times

First was 30ish min

Second was 10ish min

third 30ish min

the fourth 2-3hr

 

So I figured I was good... 

The game crashed after 10 min of playing normally

 

 

If you want to know what did it...

It was errors in the Lore friendly version Monster Mod

It happened around the same location but wasn't precise at all

I just discovered this a few months ago :/

oh... this is difficult and I don't have a perfect answer...

So, this is what I have found and many may disagree...

Maybe look for a testing method topic and get some people debating on it or it may have been discussed previously.

Literally, walk around and play the game mindlessly.

I generally watch youtube vids but most users games should be fine as long as memory patch 3.0 is working, mods are patched in house, no errors, not maxing VRAM or pushing your system too far.

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean, repeat-ability & reproduce-ability are key. 

I have noticed a lot of variation with the STEP recommended performance test. I get anywhere from 5 to 10 average fps variation with consecutive run-through s (Same set up). I actually plan to do some statistical analysis on it, but it will take some time. Maybe during this long weekend or my winter break I'll get to it.... anyway I digress.

 

I'll look for a testing method topic today. If I can't find one, i'll create a new one. Seems like a good discussion to have, and that a good answer (or even lack of an answer) would be valuable to the community.

I know you mention disabling all item distribution for Immersive Armors and I know IA handplaces some of the sets. I can totally see why this is preferable along with morrowloot.

My question really is, what if someone were to hand pick specific sets, mostly low level, to distribute around for the sake of NPC variation?

Shields come to mind, mostly.

 

Would that break Morrowloot function by a huge margin? (Replacing unique items for example)

Not at all. I see no problems with this. If you want to help you could recommend lore friendly low level armors and shields from IA to use with this pack and I'll include them in the guide.

From the moment I wrote that comment up until now I've been doing just that, going through IA armors to decide which ones to use, on a basis of:

a)Likelihood of a bandit (since this is where LLs become more noticeable, really) getting their hands on one

b) Stats that match Morrowloot's mandate, since with Morrowloot high level armors are much harder to find. 

 

I've nailed it down to:

Barbarian

Barbarian Hero

Brigand Plate

Einherjar Brigandine

Einherjar Plate

Fur Collar

Fur Hood 

Jorvaskr Shield

Heavy Painted Shield (and variants)

Edit: Some thoughts specifically on Einherjar and Barbarian armors. While the barbarian armor is really something noone would really use in real life, I see it as a lack of armor. The person wearing it is too poor to afford a real piece of armor so they make do with what they can find.

Einherjar features a dragon skull. While that might be considered "not lore friendly" for a bandit to have armor adorned with dragon skulls, the quest where Alduin resurrects that Dragon made me realize Skyrim is littered with Dragon graveyards. Specifically, the word wall locations. As such, one doesn't really need to kill a dragon to have an ornamental dragon skull. 

 

As for bandanas, I simply  dislike them :P
