Requiem Pack (WIP)

Dude if there was only one opinion then we would never have come down from the trees in the first place. This is getting a tad boring, I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. Doesn't seem fair. If you insist on hijacking this thread to promote your own ego then bully for you, have at it sunshine. I will leave you to it. 1.8 is out soon (this week) and will require a few changes, not to mention all the stuff that Azirok has lined up with merged mods for packs and conflict resolution guides which will naturally lead to an update of this pack. But you never know the Lord God Almighty might decide to make a pack and save me the trouble. Damn and I said I was going to leave it alone. Definitely mean it this time.

Wow. You never saw Highlander? You've seen Star Wars, right? These are not the droids you're looking for. What are you going to say now? That I just don't want to show you the droids? Seriously? Edited by fireundubh

Requiem 1.8 "For the Indifferent" is out !

Azirok however has reported being very busy lately, so I guess we will have to wait a bit more, which is a good idea anyway with new releases :).

Regarding bashed patchs, I don't want to re-ignite the "debate" but if we could focus on technical aspects it would be more productive I think.

As it's a rather important issue to clear I figured I might as well add Ogerboss's stance :

In response to post #18279999.

 [...]

About bashed patches: I am voting neither against nor for them. Personally I never needed one until now and the warning at the end of the installation guide is not to be understood as "you should not use bashed patches". It's only that you will undo the changes from the SkyProc patch, if you have the wrong tags for it.

Since Requiem for the Indifferent exists since yesterday, LOOT cannot know it and thus can only use some heuristics at best to determine the load order (like "after all masters", namely everything you just patched). Unfortunately, my knowledge about bashed patches is too limited to give you a definite answer. But: Most, if not even all leveled lists SkyProc creates are defined in Requiem.esp and thus should not be conflicted with any other mod.

p.s. the mod has a safeguard against bashing your SkyProc-patch to Oblivion. It should be able to detect failed bashed patches and kick you back to the menu after giving you a pointer.

From Nexus Forum's Requiem main comment thread.

I don't know however if he's using Azirok patches, and if those changes anything to the matter...

edit : toned down a bit my post.

If it's just leveled lists that is the concern (which I gather from the posts those are the concern) because the SkyProc Patcher is creating them, all you need to do is simply untick that part of the Bashed Patch so those lists are not created in the Bashed Patch. Simple, easy, done. You get your leveled lists from SkyProc and the rest of the Bashed Patch benefits as well.

The new version definitely requires a new patch. From the readme:

"The machanism to prevent armor changes in combat is now based on a keyword approach. [...]"

=> Those definitely need patching to work with WAF.

Waiting another small patch or two is probably a good idea though.

From ogerboss regarding the delevel leveled lists script:

"A word of warning: In some leveled lists I morph with Skyproc I used levels to encode additional data, so do not use this script before creating the SkyProc patch."

HI, I would hold off on installing 1.81 as there needs to be more patches produced for it to be fully compatible with either STEP or SR:LE. Though Azirok is currently out of action due to workload some others are using his files as a base for making updated patches so perhaps we needn't wait too long. Of course you can always try your own but until Dragonborn patch is made or redone, then I would wait.

All the best,

Hello fellow modders,

This has probably already been brought up, but how about we further establish a streamlined Requiem + SR/ Requiem + STEP setup?

By this, I mean making it so that after installing STEP/ SR/ Requiem- All the user has to do is download and install 1 giant patch from the pack page and be ready to go.

The patch will be the product of multiple merged patches such as Requiem- Dawnguard/ Hearthfires/ Dragonborn and all of the patches for mods that STEP/ SR add that we wish to keep with Requiem.

An ESTABLISHED REQUIEM CORE setup- something bigger than just a pack, a giant functioning collection of patches in one patch for organization and stability, just like the STEP patch.

A Conflict resolution patch is do-able for both STEP Core and Extended (would probably be largely the same), and also for SR. This would be to carry forward any features from mods and especially Requiem that need to be carried forwards. In theory merging the Requiem patches would be OK just not sure if getting permission is needed for some of the patches, though they do merge well.

Azirok is planning to do this very thing - just no longer sure when as he has been missing for a while. The STEP patches merge some mods, I believe permission was sought for those. Requiem already incorporates some of the mods in STEP such as the Lock Retex mod and no NPC greetings etc..

Key stopping point right now is the need for new patches following the release of Requiem 1.8.1.1. They are being made, there is a USKP patch, and a Hearthfires patch but no dragonborn patch as yet. Then there is the question of REGS which many people use now. I did originally have plans for a more specific guide but opted for one that is adaptable.

I am happy to take on board any ideas for improving the guide and certainly new changes could be planned as to what mods / patches are needed and seek any permissions that may be required. As is, the guide needs no permissions but when providing a merged patch of other people's work on a public forum then it gets a little trickier.

I was planning to provide some updated patches anyway but I am waiting for all the relevant patches first before I attempt this. If you or anyone wants to help build or improve this pack then I am very happy for people to do so.

Any ideas or preferences?

That was essentially the idea, my (outdated) patch on the wiki does exactly that. There is no real need for a unified extended patch imho because there are only 3 mods conflicting (at least that was the case with 1.7.3). People also tend to have mixed oppinions on extended we thought I'd better leave them modular.

Apart from Paarthurnax dilemma and maybe some tweaking to Azirok's WAF/CCF/CCO/Requiem patch, patching Requiem with STEP Core was mostly the easiest kind of T5E work. It was mostly copying over texture entries or keywords (+adjusting keyword count). It is kind of time consuming though and besides troubles with my GPU I have postponed them because RL doesn't allow me to start with Skyrim atm.

Quick question: Would you guys recommend not using the latest Requiem version atm? I've been trying to get a modded Skyrim to run for over 3 weeks now and my latest try with Requiem didn't work either...I'm considering starting The Witcher 2 and putting Skyrim on hold. Modding Oblivion worked so much better for me...

Well, my current setup started, but somehow crashed during character recreation. I think my load order is completely messed up (seems like LOOT's not handling Requiem very well)...could you take a look and point me into the right direction?
