A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim

Hmmm, well there goes my baseline for merging. I assumed that any type of patch would be fine. How can I determine what patches are possible to merge without trial an error?

There is no alternative to trial and error, especially when the plugins have worldspace/cell entries.

Weird, when I view the nexus forums it looks like the spoiler tags worked?

In the mod page view (which most people use), the spoiler tags don't seem to work propely, the thing is always expanded D:

Yeah, I have stayed away from script mods. So I have no worries there. Perhaps the only issue with scripts is the merged requiem patches, for example the BOYD patch.

Your right, this is better suited to a new thread. I will open one shortly if I cannot resolve the issue, thanks for the help  ::):

Edit: Thanks CJ2311, ill fix that on the forum thread asap.

Edit: Edit: Only REGS patches, renumber FormID unchecked, and I still receive unresolved reference errors. Im gonna open up a new thread.

Edit: Edit: Edit: New thread in support forum opened. I have posted the errors I get with and without renumbering FormIDs, if you gentlemen would be so kind as to take a look. Last edit, I promise  ::P:

A couple of q's:

1: I'm a little unsure on the Sky Haven/Paarthurnax Dilemma conflicts, if using the optional light Skyhaven version only it will still cause problems with Paarthurnax I take it?

2: The Skyrim Distance Overhaul Beta (S.D.O.) conflicts with Moon/Regs files, so should we modify S.D.O somehow or simply remove it when following Regs?

I'm not the one who's maintaining the REGS SRLE guide, but I removed that part about SHT because it's not clear enough, the sky haven temple mod currently in the guide is compatible with the paarthunax dilemma, those instructions that were linked refer to another mod that can be used instead.

EDIT: Actually, turns out it is a conflict with SDO. /sigh Edited by CJ2311

Just load SDO before Moon and Star, those conflicting files are for the map view. However there's an issue with Moon and Star's LODs having blue rooves, which a lot of people seem to be having (and that's not related to SDO). Probably should be reported to the mod author.

Yep, can confirm that mod load order does not solve this issue. Additionally moving the plugin to almost the end of my plugin list makes no difference either. Looking at the records in the esp I couldnt find anything either. Lots of worldspace edits, but nothing that would cause blue LODs. In any case, I posted the issue on the mods nexus page.

That is weird indeed, I did not notice any blue LOD on a STEP install (but then again I run a high uGridsToLoad in order to stress test the mods)

BTW, Helgen Reborn does not conflict with Moon and Star, there was a very tiny issue but it's been resolved in v1.03 of the mod, and conflict resolution won't fix the conflict with BFT, you actually need to patch one of the 2 mods for that (I patched BFT in the guide, since that mod isn't getting updated)

This is a really great compilation. Thanks a lot for putting it together. I've thrown REGs in with my usual mix of mods and so far so good. Its really nice to see the new locations, almost like a different game.  Now if I could just stop messing with mods and starting over all the time I might actually finish the game one day.

Im running ugrids 7. Thanks for the info, I will edit my post on the nexus page  ::):  I appreciate you checking the nexus forums CJ2311, thats twice you have saved me from either looking like an idiot or spreading erroneous information. Ta!  :^_^:

Would it possible for to give me quick description of the Layers records, like VTXT, ATXT, etc. I tried google search but nada. The UESPWiki Tes5 record page has nothing either. Now that the merge script issue is solved im creating my conflict resolution patch, and it would be nice to know what Layers does.

Edit: Can only conclude that if the issue is a conflict, then its not related to REGS or STEP Extended. That actually narrows it down quite a bit. Must be requiem (doubt it), or SR:LE, or perhaps one of the additional mods I added.

Good luck with that, maybe in 6 months you'll get to play the game ::P:

No problemo. BTW, I don't see any issue with pit fighter and MAS either. The only conflict between both is one of those stupid water height changes that does nothing... Mind pointing out which FormID has the conflict?

Those are landscape records.Basically, they're what determines the terrain depth, and the textures of the ground. No wonder you haven't found anything about in the documentation, only a machine can decode that stuff (Well a human could do it, but it'd take ages for him to do so :P) Edited by CJ2311

MoonAndStar_MAS.esp Worldspace 0001691D <WindhelmWorld> 0001691F Persistent 0001696E

Or just 0001696E :P

quest_pitfighter.esp overrides MoonAndStars_MAS.esp in my load order (using LOOT). I guess its not a conflict per say, but moon and stars has a VMAD record, while pit fighter has nothing. I just noticed that I dont have the latest version, still on 1.03. Dont know if 1.04 changes this. Ill update in a bit and check.

So in regards to Layers, I should not bother with them for conflict resolution? I can add that to my list of records not to bother with if thats the case  ::P:

If you're using Loot, I'd recommend setting the 13 oranges mods priority lower than average, they should be considered as town mods when it comes to load order, not quest mods.

For the layers, you can't fix them in T5E.

@MadWizard: I just got a PM from Gan:

Anyway, I saw the conflict with Pit Fighter and know exactly what it is. All the change to the Windhelm World does is add a script to the door of the New Gnisis Cornerclub that teleports Mandyn to Moon and Star's hidden storage cell. So overwriting it won't break anything. Mandyn'll just be hanging around the New Gnisis Cornerclub (and no longer saying anything when I fix a teensy little bug in the next patch). Just figured I'd let you know.

Also, if you clean the pitfighters esp, you'll not have the conflict in question.

Might be on purpose but wanted to let you know there are some errors when REGS Patch - NSutR + RRR.esp is checked in Tes5dit.

I'm not getting any errors. D:Logs please? Edited by CJ2311
