Yeah, I can vouch for Queue, he knows what he is doing. I've been using and testing NVAC for a while now and over time it just absorbs so of the terrible exceptions that Gamebryo throws out. Hopefully, SSME becomes just as useful, unless the SKSE guys update accordingly.

It is so nice to play Skyrim without CTD's. I love my current ENB and my mod list' date=' including this patch. Much fun.[/quote']

IT IS. Now I can use all my mods + quietcool enb just fine.

We should be seeing an alpha release this week.

EDIT: wrong link fixed.

OK, no testing values yet, but on a fresh vanilla install with only fixes to the game installed, I got stutterfree perfectly fluid gameplay with uGrids 17 and speedmult 500...

Sorry, this patch is making me so happy.

I'll be continuing my SR LE setup and will report back, if issues arise.

Lots of testing today, noticed a couple of things which may or may not be useful information to you. It may also be incorrect.

1. It seems to me that the value for RAM = VRAM + Memblock1. When using default skse_steam_loader, my RAM is always approximately 256mb - 300mb higher than VRAM. When using the memory patch, my RAM appears to always be approximately 512mb - 600mb higher than VRAM.  This is only observable (obviously) when not using ENBoost. Anyone else notice the same thing, or am I missing something here?

2. No matter what texture size mods I throw at it or how many actors I spawn, when my max VRAM is reached - 2GB - then the highest amount of RAM I have seen so far is 2.7GB with uGrids 9 (highest uGrids amount I'd consider for a playthrough) and it seems not possible to go above that.

3. Using ENBoost or not using ENBoost made zero difference in stability unless going at uGrids 15 and above. Such high uGrids did increase RAM beyond 3GB and so it would make sense to use ENBoost in that case. Indeed I experienced problems without ENBoost at uGrids 15+ levels.

4. My game is now perfectly stable using SRLE (mostly 1K exterior textures, no ENB, no parallax textures) + uGrids 7 + SweetFX. Seeing as the primary function of ENBoost is to reduce RAM so that the game won't crash at 3.1GB RAM 32-bit limit, I assume people with 2GB (or lower) cards generally won't reach the 3.1gb RAM limit and can therefore choose to not use ENBoost. In my case, ENBoost causes small amounts of stutter while only using the mempatch there is no stutter.

5. EDIT: Ingame-tip: type "tb" in console. then on your map check how big of a step each increase in uGrids actually is. It's kind of big :)

For some, I guess this stuff about ENBoost might be known information but nonetheless here's my experience of ENBoost in combination with mempatch.

With SSME you need to revert to the original SKSE.

I had already done that for the time being since the other one wasn't giving me any notification it was working. :) Thanks!

I have added a simple SKSE plugin to my OP post at ENB and to this post.

It will write the size of the memory blocks to a log file while playing and is supposed to help people to find a good size for block 1 without having to constantly tab out and refresh VMMap.

Maybe some of you good people could test it? There is a readme in the zip and the 3 ini settings are explained in the ini itself. It should be all straight forward really.

I will check ENB forum and here for feedback in case it doesn't work or whatever else.

Do not repost MemoryBlocksLog-1.0.zip anywhere please. It is currently in beta and will be released officially once its safety and usefulness has been tested.

Mod, you can add it to first post of this thread together with this text of course.

Thanks

Added to OP. I'll install asap.

@all

We will be continuing to recommend the SKSE method (the modified skse_steam_loader.dkk) until things stabilize. No sense confusing things until we know what direction the SKSE team is taking.

I tried SSME yesterday and it didn't work (basically acted as if it didn't do anything), while the modified skse_steam_loader.dll worked.

I hate to be that guy, but this hasn't made my game better. In fact, after removing Safety Load my game is worse, I get freezes more often and infinite loading screen are coming up way more frequently. I just ctrl+alt+deleted a game because not even 5 minutes in I freeze in the middle of talking to somone. I can't see any improvements that are supposed to be happening.

I really really hope that it's me doing something wrong because I can't make my game better with this along with the Skyrim Stability Guide posted before. I really want to see my game as stable as possible, but lately it's been proving impossible.
