phosphor Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Dynamic Things by Dominoid. I saw this mod in passing and thought it was pretty immersive and a great addition to a game running Frostfall. I know it's not likely to be useful in Core or Regular Step but I figured it would be good in an Immersion Pack Addon. showcasing the mod and below is information straight from the Mod Page about what it does: Overview:There you are almost frozen to death and in desperate need of firewood to light a fire when you see your salvation - a freshly chopped pile of firewood in the camp up ahead. But wait the pile is useless! You take your last breath as your blood freezes in your veins. This mod aims to change that by dynamically changing those useless firewood piles into containers of firewood ready for your plundering. That's how this mod started anyway. It has now morphed into something more substantial as we attempt to turn some of the useless “junk†in Skyrim into more usable objects. Since its initial release, we now convert woodpiles, barrels, crates, mead kegs, training targets and dummies, hay bales, hanging hagraven taproot pouches and even coal piles. We still have a list of features and tweaks to come but could use your help with some ideas. Join us in the comments.
Sairven Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I've been thinking of using this one. THough the whole tree clearing thing kinda makes me hesitant. Which MCM config option turns that off?
torminater Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I think this mod is awesome! Although the loot all safe containers is OP and a cheat, I'm really thinking about trying it out. I'll need to take a look at it via TESEdit first though... and patches... ugh.
Neovalen Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I think the loot all safe containers is in case you wish to uninstall the mod and get your stuff back quickly.
rootsrat Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I am really hesitant towards mods like this nowadays. Couple of weeks ago I'd be all over it, but recent problems I've been having with Skyrim made me change my view on modding... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Garfink Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I've used this for a long time, and I do think making all static barrels contain stuff is cheating, especially with mods like realistic needs, the amounts of free food you get makes that mod a little pointless. I do love being able to harvest food piles and chop down trees though, which is very immersive. The mod is customizible, so you can just turn off what you don't want on. The only issue I'll have is its continuous script firing in search for static objects, which could cause crashes in combination with other scripted mods.
rootsrat Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The only issue I'll have is its continuous script firing in search for static objects, which could cause crashes in combination with other scripted mods. That was exactly why I said I'm hesitant towards mods like this :) Too many failed playthroughs due to excessive scripting.
Garfink Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Just to revive this old thread, just got back to Skyrim modding and I have installed this baby with a ton of scripted mods (more than that of Skyrim Revisited suggested by far) and with all the CTD and crash fix innovations in the past 2 years, I can run this mod no problem, probably worth considering again.
Nazenn Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Theres also a fan made patch called Dynamic Things Enhanced which includes some additional features as well as some bug fixes
