For now I am doing as was suggested and skipping the removed mods, but I am also creating an empty mod in their place just a reminder that they are missing so that if the guide does get a short term adjustment, I remember what is missing and where.

What is missing besides Just Ice that you have found?
NordSky Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Installed everything according to the guide, triple checked too, but I get the SKSE plugin failed to load for HD Local Maps. I went to try an older version, specifically 1.0.2 to see if it would work, but I am unable to get a download link from Nexus. Any suggestions? Can I just disable the mod? It seems like its just a QoL mod.

It seems like its just a QoL mod. You have either the wrong version of Address Lib or SKSE64 installed, or you did not establish a clean vanilla game directory in Step 1 SSG. It's also possible that one of your other SKSE plugins is the wrong version. HD Local Map 1.0.3 works. Did the Smoke test work?

Being my first time back to the project in a while it threw me for a small loop.

As long as 'SKSE' is in the name somewhere, it should be enough to tell you where to look for SKSE-related output.

So dark in fact that travelling the roads of Skyrim at night time was a no go for me since nights when anything beyond the reach of your light of choice looked pitch black weren't uncommon. If I had to name what I liked the least about this setup that would be it. Is that the expected behavior of the lighting? I mean, it's probably realistic lighting, but gameplay wise can be frustrating. Unless Bethesda changed lighting drastically with the Special Edition of the game, my memory is that travelling at night time was not that much of an inconvenience in vanilla because light levels were higher overall. Yeah, lighting like this varies by each system/display/drivers, so what may not look too dark on one system may look too dark on another. The issue is with ENB ultimately. We could create a new "brighter nights and interiors" version of each preset, but we're in the midst of testing Community Shaders, which may ultimately be a simpler post-processing paradigm while also being better in many regards. TBD.

I have only made marginal changes in the "Models and Textures" section, such as using Pfuscher's landscape instead of Cathedral's, making sure it only overwrites the textures while keeping the master ESP, and I've omitted the mods I wasn't interested in. All Masters related to the various STEP Patches are installed, and the game runs great. There is just one problem that is driving me crazy: every time I close the game session and restart MO, the load order changes. I sort the plugins with LOOT, the sorting is saved, I start the game, and when I close it, the sorting reverts to the previous state—always the same one—forcing me to run LOOT before every session. And i don't even know if the sorting changes the moment the game lunches! I've tried everything, in this order: A clean installation of LOOT Administrator permissions for both MO and LOOT Disabling the 'Form 43 plugin checker' and 'Script extender plugin load checker' options Deleting the loadorder.txt text file Running MO's proprietary sorting and external LOOT Nothing has worked, I beg you, please help me. Be certain you have ownership of the instance/profile location (or at least "full" perms): <drive+path>\ModOrganizer\<instanceName>\profiles\<profileName> loadorder.txt may not be getting updated if you don't have modify perms.

I finally solved it! And almost by accident, I was scrolling through the list of plugins when I noticed that "HFE-CRF-Patch.esp" and "dD-No Screen Blood.esp" were unticked. I always thought they were unticked as a resault of the various STEP Patchs installed, but instead, it turned out that MO was adding them unticked by default ( I tried to re-install the mods again to make sure) Thank you for the reply! 1

When you first install a mod and enable it, MO always enables all corresponding plugins for the mod. If you ever do subsequent actions like merge another install into an enabled mod, or re-enable an 'optional' plugin, it populates plugins in disabled state. That's why in the guide we mention to be sure all plugins are enabled before sorting/playing.
