"It is aimed at increasing the overall efficiency of vanilla scripts: faster execution and reduced memory usage.  The hope is that by decreasing the amount of resources Papyrus has to devote to vanilla scripts, a person can use more mods before running into performance issues."

There have been a few bug reports.  This might not be a preferred mod to install and use on an existing save.

I've used this mod since it was released and still do use it, but I don't recommend it for STEP at this time:

• 1 script is out of date with USSEP 4.2.8+ and breaks the transit of Khajiit caravans.
• 1 plugin change apparently breaks the kid adoption quest.

Until an official or 3rd-party easy-to-install fix or update is available, it can't be used (without manually fiddling with it to work around the issues).

Looks like it is now compatible with USSEP.

As of v 1.17, the caravanleaderscript is compatible with both vanilla Skyrim, and USSEP 4.2.9a

Yes. Both issues I noted in my previous post have been fixed in the recent 1.1.7 update.
