We may want to implement this instead of toggling off the Bethesda Modding Platform, since that is used for the Anniversary Edition content, and probably should remain enabled. This will hide the spammy "Creation Club News." I don't think we have another mod that covers this.

What I'd really like is a way to get rid of the annoying zombie-collections banner on Nexus.

Won't that block ads for the whole page? ... and is it an ad? Seems like a site header element, but I haven't looked.

You can block the element using uBlock, but that will block future ones too. I would love to get rid of it too.

They are overly aggressive with their notifications. User should have the option to hide it, or it should only display on a new session. As it is, having the 'x' to close it is redundant, since it comes back on any page load/refresh.

Not really. This proves we hate spam and this mod should probably be accepted. 
(I said spam, because that Nexus notification is borderline spam! ...I gave you my money, stop annoying me!)
