Wonders of Weather causing CTD

Recommended Posts

During heavy rain, if you approach an unopened dragon burial mound, you can CTD. Recommend the guide be updated to uncheck rain splash effects to avoid this bug.

Yes, it is a widely reported issue on their nexus forum, and a bug has been filed showing that the script is being called so quickly that it isn't having enough time to execute before it is being called again.

So it is not a bug as much a performance issue? I have never had this problem.

Dunno man, semantics maybe? I don't care either way, heh. Just passing on information that may be helpful to others who might have CTD issues with this option enabled.

I registered an account just to say thank you for this. It was indeed the rain splashes from Wonders of Weather. Turning those off resolved this crash I was having near the dragon mound on the road headed west along the trail from Whiterun's Western Watch Tower.

This may be relevant to some but not all. Will add a note to the Guide.

Is it a good idea to install this with the Less Opaque Splash plugin checked?:

It edits the way the mounds are displayed and seems to rename and replace the mound meshes. The author states the CTD is caused by the way water splashes collide with the meshes.

I don't have any of these issues either, so cannot speak to this. It's either an upstream configuration (human) error or a hardware/software limitation causing this issue. Suggest following the Skyrim Setup Guide to rule out improper config. This is exactly why we wrote it

I always install the Less Opaque option. It just looks better, imo, but it's dependent on your weather/lighting/ENB.

As for that fix, I can't say either way, either. I don't have this issue, so it could very well be performanced based. If it was truly a mesh/collision issue and nothing else, everyone would have the issue. The fact that not everyone does means the root issue is likely something else, but the fix is probably just circumventing it with some trickery.

I had this same issue when I discovered the Lone Mountain Dragon Mound while traveling west from Whiterun toward the Swindler's Den.
It's raining heavily in my game right now, and nearly immediately after the location discovery popup, it would CTD without stutters or warning.

I went into MCM to the Wonders of Weather settings, changed Rain Splashes: Level = Disabled, and no longer have the CTD.

Just posting this here in hopes it helps someone else, as Googling and finding this thread helped me.
Thanks all

UPDATE: Installing the mod mentioned above - WoW Dragon Mounds CTD Fix - also fixes the issue, even with Rain Splashes: Level = Medium

Labyrinthian Shalidor's Maze Fixes by wSkeever

This fixes a bunch of small layout glitches by repositioning objects and replacing meshes in the Shalidor's Maze area, and it adds sunlight.
Install: if used with Assorted Mesh Fixes, they should overwrite it. There is an ESL plugin, which must be enabled.
Conflicts: there is a minor conflict with Atlas Map Markers, which AMM wins using LOOT. It must be patched if sunlight is desired (see below). Otherwise no conflict with the current WIP STEP setup as far as I can tell.
Before > After of one of the more noticeable fixes:

Before > After of sunlight and shadows - only works if conflict with AMM is resolved:

See Nexus page for more comparison screenshots.

Security Overhaul SKSE - Lock Variations by powerofthree

SKSE file that turns the default lock into different kinds based on what you're opening; Dwemer, Falmer, Snow Elf, Apocrypha, and snowy chests/doors. Looking at it I feel like I might actually manually open locks now instead of using autopick, haha. There's even an addon already which adds even more, including locks from other mods like VIGILANT.

Hello so I am brand new to all of this and I have been having TWO issues with DynDOLOD, I have searched for quite a while and have no found a sufficient fix to my problem so I thought I would ask here.

I keep getting the message when I enter the game "DynDOLOD requires PapyrusUtil" I have already downloaded Papy and there are a few things I have done myself to try and work around the issue.
      - re-downloaded Papyrus
      - re-downloaded DynDOLOD
Now I know these are obvious and basic things to list but I wanted to list them anyway for reference.

Now the second issue which I am almost certain is linked to the first problem I get TWO messages that read
"DynDOLOD can not find Tamriel in DynDOLOD_Worlds"
"DynDOLOD can not find master data in None"

The issue seem pretty specific on where the problem lies but since I am new to modding I do not want to go around messing with my files and then accidently mess up my mod list, So instead I decided to ask for help here before I go scrounging around.

Normally I would brush these two things off because DynDOLOD is actually working in my game, It fixed my tree textures and none of my textures/meshes are broken as far as I can tell. The only reason I am trying to fix this issue is that every 5 Seconds those two messages are spammed in the corner of my screen and it is irritating to watch.

I have linked both pictures of the messages.

I would appreciate any help or info on this! Thank you!
