D1Z4STR Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 New version is up! With options to remove more sounds, including the activation fail noise. Which would make Activate Noise Removal mod https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/210/? not needed.
Neovalen Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 The new version is actually really nice, thumbs up!
TechAngel85 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I've removed Active Fail Noise Removal from Core and it will be removed from Mod list in next release.
Neovalen Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 It also has critical hit silencer which is the only reason for silent skyrim as well...
Kelmych Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I agree silencing the sneak attack sound is the most important capability of Silent Skyrim, but it also silences some other other sounds that IMO should have never been in the game.
Neovalen Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Possibly but those would need to be tested. Only part recommended by STEP currently is now covered in this mod.
TechAngel85 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I agree with Neo. Right now STEP is only recommending the Sneak Attack option. Therefore, there is no reason for Silent Skyrim either unless someone wants to do the advocating and testing again for the other sounds. Not me. I'll add Silent Skyrim to the removal list on the changelog as well.
rootsrat Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I did some testing on the previous version of the mod and the sound removals I tested worked fine. I did not test ALL of them and it was a while ago anyway... In the end I decided to remove only the sneak attack, as the game felt just wrong without the other ones somehow. It's perhaps less immersive, but the sound effects of level up, quest completion, skill level up etc. are quite ok in the game. It was weird playing without them and in the end I decided to mute sneak attack only.

I installed this mod but I am not seeing it in the MCM menu. Is this note outdated?
Vanaran Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Hi, First of all, many thanks to the team for putting my mod in the STEP list. I was not aware until now ^^The notes for this mod in step 2.2.6 says "Recommended to active ADS in MCM menu." I installed this mod but I am not seeing it in the MCM menu. Is this note outdated?I think it's a mistake, I never mentioned that the A.D.S would appear in the MCM menu. A.D.S is only an option available during installation.
TechAngel85 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Should be fixed. Vanaran, PM Z92 on Nexus to get your Mod Author name badge.
Vanaran Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Hi techangel, and thank you. I'll get in touch with Z92 ^^ Best,
Kelmych Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Does STEP want to add recommendations for the sound removal choices in the wiki?
DoubleYou Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 It appears that it already does have recommendations: to install all options. Is that confusing somehow?
