Lauren Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Any advice how to do that? I already opened the file in Tes5Edit and checked the info for the conflict resolution about which was addressed there. But as much as I get the basic functionality of Tes5edit for cleaning etc. or aditing items in there, I'm not familiar enough with it to even find anything pertaining to those changes. You will have to load the esp (along with all of its masters) in TESEdit, right click on it, Apply Script > Report Masters. It will list the FormIDs of all the references, you'll have to delete the ones linked to masters you want to remove. Once that's done you can right-click on the esp again > Clean Masters.
alphakay1488 Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 (edited) Ahh, then is SE modding getting along now? Last I heard some of the core modding utilities like SKSE64 were indefinitely postponed as the modders who made them for Oldrim years ago were no longer doing that and no one else was taking up the mantle. mcshame Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 (edited) Clicking the globe in MO will bring up the Nexus website, but when selecting "Mod Manager Download" on t mod's page, it asks if I want to open nxmhandler.exe, and then MO says "Failed to request file info from nexus: Host nmm.nexusmods.com not found". I imagine the "nmm" rather than "www" is at least part of the issue, but I can't find anywhere in MO to change that. EDIT:Ahh, okay, to update to that can I leave everything else (the folders like DLLs, license, logs, loot, etc.) the same and just use the new ModOrganizer.exe? Or do I also need to use what comes packaged with the new one like the dlls, license, loot, NCC, etc. folders, ModOrganizer.pdb, etc.?I just did this with success. These are the exact instructions I followed. The new MO is on the MO2 nexus page. This updated MO uses the new, supported, secure downloads URL To update, just nuke everything inside your current MO folder except for downloads, mods, profiles, and overwrite if you have anything in there, and copy the new MO files to that folder(edited) I'd also suggest backing up your ModOrganizer.ini and restoring it after launching the updated MO to avoid having to redefine all your executables, patches, etc Edited May 25, 2018 by mcshame

alphakay1488 Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 If/when I try out Special Edition, should I use the Archive or Installer version of MO2?
DarkladyLexy Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 If/when I try out Special Edition, should I use the Archive or Installer version of MO2?I recommend the Archive version of MO2 as it "Standalone" you unzip it and boom you're off and running.
berndaroy Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Would anybody know how to reset Whiterun exterior, around the gildergreen tree? I have finished the civil war quests and this area still reflects a slight war scene. I know there is a console command for interiors, but not for exteriors. It's minor and i'm drawing to the end of this guides quests etc, and can live with it if need be. Would be good to know though, and yes i use ETAC

I'd love to move to SSE eventually for performance and stability reasons, but I'd hate to lose out on too many of the good classic mods and I have my install in a very good and stable position right now.

hazelwolf Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I don't suppose we have a tally for how many plugins this guide has by the time it's complete? There are a good number of other mods I would like to add for my playthrough and I may just opt to swap some of them out if it comes to it.
DarkladyLexy Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 the number of active esps once all is done a dusted is around the 200 Mark for the LE Guide and 190ish for the SSE Guide.
legendrodrigo Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I don't have much experience in modding but i really wanted to try this modding guide. Should i try this even if i have issues with it cause i'm not much experienced in modding or should i try first the original skyrim revisited guide?
Hawkpath Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I don't have much experience in modding but i really wanted to try this modding guide. Should i try this even if i have issues with it cause i'm not much experienced in modding or should i try first the original skyrim revisited guide?I'd definitely recommend this guide over the older one. I'm also completely new to modding and I started with the older guide, only to realize some stuff was outdated and confusing. I felt that this guide was very organized, up-to-date, and helpful even for complete beginners. As long as you read very carefully and follow the directions, everything should generally work out. The only thing to be aware of is that it does take a lot of time and hard drive space to get through it all. I started about two weeks ago and I'm still working my way through, and after installing all the mods, it's taken around 70GB of space, plus an additional 37GB for the compressed mod downloads (you can delete the downloads if you need to, but it could be helpful to leave them in case you want to reinstall without downloading them again). Also, use Mod Organizer 2 from the zip file, not the installer! I used the installer only to realize towards the end that I needed the zip file version to use one of the tools, Merge Plugins.
berndaroy Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) Also, use Mod Organizer 2 from the zip file, not the installer!Legendrodrigo and Hawkpath Hi! On the prereq. page it says to use MO 1.3.15, but use MO 2, due to security updates and compliance Nexus has implemented, you cannot use the mod manager download link with MO 1.3.15...you have to use manual...no big issue if you chose to stay on MO 1.3.15. Should you chose MO 2, be aware that it cannot be installed in your steamapps/common/skyrim folder. It needs to be installed outside of it..i.e E: Skyrim/steamapps/common folder or in it's own folder on your game drive. It is a slightly different beast to it's predecessor and info can be found on the web page or Lexy's LOTD special edition prereq. page..https://wiki.step-project.com/User:DarkladyLexy/Lexys_LOTD_SE_Prerequisites. Hope this helps and happy modding...PS just take your time and read the instructions for this guide, it's pretty bullet proof as it is, if you don't add on top of this build(which may require bug fixing). It's a great way to learn modding, thanks to our Grand master Neovalen and Masters Darth/Lexy...happy modding Edited June 1, 2018 by berndaroy 1
