DarkladyLexy Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Can cwo make the game randomly ctd while walking around ?it can yes due to the heavy script nature of the mod and the fact the civil war quests are most heavily scripted questline in the game. For [More Patches for CACO], all three patches default to the same name, "More Patches for CACO". I looked at Darth's modlist, and there is only one mod with that name, not one per patch. Do I install one, then merge the other two into the same mod? That is up to you if you want to install each file as a separate mod or Merge them together like we did dealers choice.
alphakay1488 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 That is up to you if you want to install each file as a separate mod or Merge them together like we did dealers choice.Okay, I just wanted to make sure it's using MO's inbuilt "merge" when you try to install two things with same name. With [Dynamic Things - Enhanced], there was a special note saying "Make sure this Mod and the Dynamic Things mod Installed above are named the same so that they are merged together within Mod Organizer." Because there was a note there but not with the [More Patches for CACO], I wasn't sure if we were meant to do the same thing.

(e.g Merge together in Mod Organizer)Optional Files - Install as separate or own mod in MO.Miscellaneous files - Install as separate mod in MO.Patches - Install as separate mod in MO.
hishutup Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Scripts pretty much never cause crashes if done properly. When I was developing some dynamic stuff, I really wasn't able to cause the game to crash unless I was doing some pretty stupid things.Script heavy can vary with skyrim. A bunch of small(execution time) scripts execute pretty fast, but there is a point where when a script becomes too long(execution time) to execute it appears that it pauses a cycle and then resumes after some other scripts finish.

berndaroy Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Like it and if it gets rid of gray/green soil on side of roads(at lest in my game) so much the better
DarkladyLexy Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Like it and if it gets rid of gray/green soil on side of roads(at lest in my game) so much the better think you'll find that's the Moss Rock plugin from Majestic Mountains if you don't like it don't add that option
alphakay1488 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 For the mod [Legacy of The Dragonborn Patch Central], it lists two files to download: "MISCELLANEOUS - LOTD Patches Merged (v19.1.6)"and "OPTIONAL FILES - Optional Mod Patches for Legacy (v19.1.7)" Both of these have FOMOD installers. However, the only FOMOD instructions for that mod are for "Legacy of The Dragonborn Patch Central - Snazzy Patch", and it only instructs to install one patch. Through a bit of testing, I discovered that only one of the files has a poatch for SFCO - the "OPTIONAL FILES - Optional Mod Patches for Legacy (v19.1.7)".Based on what I'm seeing here, we should install the "OPTIONAL FILES - Optional Mod Patches for Legacy (v19.1.7)" with only the SFCO patch, and the "MISCELLANEOUS - LOTD Patches Merged (v19.1.6)" with no patches whatsoever?
berndaroy Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Alphakay hi! The pre-built patch from Sirjesto, under miscellaneous section of Patch Central doesn't have a fomod in it...just the meshes, textures etc. The Optional Mods Patches has fomod and yes you only need the SFCO patch...IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE GUIDE without adding your own choices. As the guide mentions though, if you are adding mods on TOP OF THIS GUIDE you may then need to build your own patch for LOTD and this will mean patches from both: 1. Legacy of the Dragonborn Patch Collection and 2. Optional Mods Patches....WHERE APPROPRIATE
alphakay1488 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 (edited) . . . You're absolutely right, I had downloaded the main file and the optional file. Whoops. As for putting my own options in, there are some mods that aren't in SRLEELotD that I really want, but my inexperience with this level of modding makes me extremely hesitant to deviate from the prescribed instructions exactly, no matter how much I might want something else too. If I do anything besides what they instruct and there're any problems, than I might as well start over.Especially since, even for the mods they DO tell you to install, sometimes you choose patches for them in FOMODs and sometimes you don't (because it's in some mega patch in the end) - for someone not intimately familiar with which are where, and which mods (and how) to combine into bashers to reduce .esps, and so on, it's like drowning if I try to make even the slightest deviation.Someday, I'll learn enough to do my own tweaks. berndaroy Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Alphakay yes i know the feeling, when first tried Neovalen's guide(predecessor of this guide) it was mind boggling at the time, but with this great modding community that has the time and patience for all levels of players, you learn(we are not all there) and gain in confidence. The choice is yours, but it would be best to stick to the guide as is...play and experience what you have in game and then as you feel more confident begin to ticker bits at a time. As Lexy mentioned earlier in another post this guide normally has slightly more experienced followers....that you are giving it a go Kudos to you.....hang in there!

I miss some of the "classics" though from my first few hundred hours in game (Wyrmstooth, Elianora's houses, Vilja . . . ).
memnochs Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 @Alphakey: you can add Vilja to this guide easily, only little benign conflicts that can be easily solved (and if you don't solve them, as they are benign, it is not a real problem), I load her just before Inigo. At the beginning her babblings bored me but when she is not here, I miss her ^^.
