I don't give a damn about nudity. I just think this whole "immersion" thing goes overboard. I work a full time job. I don't want taking care of my character to become a second one. Sure it always SOUNDS resasonable, but if you obey the in-game time scale, that means having to eat and drink every 10-15 minutes, and sleep and bath every 60-90 minutes. No. Thank. You. I don't mind a little hardcore survival (I played that mode in New Vegas after all), but most player mods go WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too far in that regard. There's immersion and there's playing SimAdventurer. I have no interest in the latter, and I used to get vaguely annoyed that practically EVERY mod list shoved them down my throat. Fortunately, as I commented above, thanks to the glories of MCM, I don't have to actually enable this stuff in game if I don't want to. I'm interested to see what the FO4 official one will be when it's patched in.

Yeah really amuses me, is Patch 1.3 said they fixed that, but he still does it.
-
And if they get past that, I've got Garvey assigned the guard post. They'll never get past him and his list of settlments that need help!

Got it, thanks!

Will we need to do anything besides rebuild the Bashed Patch? (sorry, i'm only intermediate level when it comes to modding).

That's usually what I got with SRLE. This time I picked the 1K textures wherever possible for lesser items (saved 2K for larger world, character, and armor textures), and used Medium on DynDOLOD so I'm hoping the outside world stays about the same. I'm at work now, so I can't pick my starting experience and go see places till I get off work. :( Damn being an adult. Also, turns out the couple of mods I was most unsure of can be turned on and off in MCM, so I can try them out, and if I don't like them, I can disable them without messing up my load order. I wish more mods did this. :) Only one is from your your list (Vigor). I'm going over it's mod page now, to see if I want to give it a chance. I'm also hesitant to use Frostfall (though I'll give it a chance), and I have zero desire to become so OCD as to want to enable Bathing in Skyrim. I'm all for immersion, but at some point one has to draw a line. Next thing, they'll be a Pooping in Skyrim mod, adding outhouses all over the landscape. If you don't use one regularly, you'll get dysentery. Also, not eating enough breads means you'll get the Constipated debuff. :D I use iNeeds, but only for myself. I refuse to micromanage the eating habits of my followers. Immersion includes assuming grown adults know how to feed themselves. :D I didn't think I'd want to use Scarcity, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized, I leave 90% of the loot behind anyway after the first couple levels. So using it actually makes sense.

Random question: it's taken me 2 days to get SRLE and Extended configured, but I'm finally good to go. Got into the game, spent the last hour configuring MCM, and making my character. I stand before the statue of Mara, ready to begin. However, it's been a LONG time since I've played Skyrim, and was actually considering doing the default opening (I know, I know, sacrilege). However, I know that opening is VERY scripted and very prone to messing up. Has anyone tried it with Extended, and is it stable enough to go through, or should I just suck it up and pick "another life"? Also, word of advise for anyone trying this for the first time. Upon starting a new game, it was INCREDIBLY laggy, what with all the scripts running at start up. We're talking 5-8 FPS in an interior cell. DO NOT PANIC. I let it process for about 5 minutes, saved, quit the game, and restarted. Now getting 45-50 FPS.

So that's what it looks like when I go Full Derp. Thanks!

Crap. Since I'm not very good at doing that, I guess I'll be using them, after all. :( Still, better than trying to figure out how to get all these to work together on my own.

I have a question. While I love this modlist, there are a few elements that I don't want to use. Specifically, I want to leave off the Elder Mighty Dragons mod, the waifu companions, the Combat & Traps section, Aurora and Imperious (I feel Disparity makes all the changes I really want on that front). Can these be removed safely without messing up compatibility, especially with the conflict resolution patch?
-
Hey, first off, I just found this list, and I about squeed. I wanted to integrate many of these mods into SRLE and was trying to figure out how. Just saved me a load of trouble! But... I noticed one thing. Helgen Reborn specifically says it has its own fix for Paarthunax, and thus is incompatible with other mods that try and fix that. Shouldn't The Paarthunax Dilemna be removed? EDIT: nevermind, i was thinking of the Recruit More Blades mod that folding Helgen Reborn, Fight the Thalmor, and several others into one big arc.

LAL starting room: torch produced no light
Barachiel replied to shattered_likeness's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
This is a common issue. As near as I can tell, it has something to do with one of the lighting mods configuring itself, in relation to the ENB and being a first time start up. Save your game, exit to desktop, and reload. You *should* find the problem has gone away, as not only does the torch produce light, but the general lighting of the room should stabilize into what you'll normally see. -
[WIP] Boston Atomic Bomb Yankee - BABY (Fallout 4)
Barachiel replied to Kesta's topic in Unofficial Fallout 4 Guides
I just picked this guide up, installed it, and it works mostly the same. A few of the mods have been updated, and I replaced a couple with variants I liked better, but so far, it's made my game experience even better. I wouldn't recommend it to a modding beginner, but if don't mind digging a little deeper beyond the guide instructions, this is still a solid list. -
Cool. I just saw the 1.10 patch list, and it seems like it's touching on several things the mods in your list use. I'm kind of leery to install it till the patch drops and you update this. :)

Do i need to start a new game with this guide? Or can I install it and keep playing with my current run-through?

I know I reported this problem once before and fixed it, but apparently it has a different cause now. Basically, I reformatted my main OS drive, and reinstalled Steam. My FNV install wasn't touched, so I just re-ran the Launcher for the first time to generate initial files, then loaded my MO profile. The game crashes the moment it tries to load. I don't get sound or even a splash screen, just a black screen for a moment, and then the "FNV4GB.EXE has stopped working" pop up. When I try to run the Vanilla game straight from Steam, same issue. Here's what I've done so far. * Made sure "Have MO manage archives" is checked * Ran FNVEdit and it loads all mods properly * Made sure FalloutMO, FalloutNV, FNV4GB, nvse_loader, and Fallout_Launcher are all set to "Run as Administrator" * Deleted the base INI files in the Documents directory and tried running from the Launcher again. This time, I got a black screen with the ENB overlay and audio. Then the crash pop up. Went back to Mod Organizer, can't even get that much, just the Black Screen & Error message combo. EDIT: Found the problem. Now need a solution. Problem: ENB is causing the crash. Removed ENB, crash went away. Unfortunately, i LIKE my ENB, and would very much like to use it. Anyone have any ideas? EDIT 2: Fixed. Just reinstalled the ENB. Have no idea what changed to break it, but that did it.

Tried that. No joy. Removed CASM.

Yeah, I agree with you. The only thing different from this F&L playthrough and the last is Windows 10. Could that be blocking something? Also, I've noticed my entire Steam directory and its subs are marked "Read Only" which is weird, because I can write to the various INI files. I've tried unchecking it, waiting the 15+ minutes for it to uncheck all the files.... and then it goes right back to being Read-Only. I'm guessing that's the issue, but I can't seem to fix it.
-
Didn't fix a thing. I've always done my character names like that, it's never been a problem before.

Found the logs. This is what I'm seeing a lot of. Reading mod list from co-save Loading array variables Loading strings NVSE DLL DoLoadGameHook: autosave.fos NVSE DLL DoPostLoadGameHook: autosave.fos NVSE DLL DoSaveGameHook: David "Killshot" Raynor - Save 15.fos saving to .\__MOProfileSave__\David "Killshot" Raynor - Save 15.nvse HandleSaveGame: couldn't create save file (.\__MOProfileSave__\David "Killshot" Raynor - Save 15.nvse)

It's saving where it always has "Steam\common\steamapps\Fallout New Vegas\Mod Organizer\profiles\F&LiNV\saves" I've used CASM several times in FO3 and FNV and the location has never been an issue before. I see no way to change save location either in FNV or CASM. There is no such setting in CASM and I can find no INI file for the mod in its mod folder. Plus New Vegas itself can make saves with the standard system to that same directory. EDIT: I used Mod Organizer to change the save location. Still no saves being created by CASM.
-
It constantly pops up "CASM is Saving", but it's not making saves. Yes, I can enter the settings menu. Yes I can make changes. The changes take. Still no saves are made.
-
Yeah, it's still not working. It worked for like one playthrough, and then it broke again. WTF?
-
Bad Texture? Report it here.
Barachiel replied to EssArrBee's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Huh, good point. I'll give it a try when I get off work.
