  1. Are you using the internal or external fomod installer with MO?
  2. Just to clarify on my previous post, I do not use MO to download mods. I use Firefox to manually download mods with the download directory pointed to MO/downloads. Today I got the error "None of the available installer plugins were able to handle that archive" due to the Nexus behaving oddly during a large file (1.6 GB) download. It took 3 tries to get it right. In the past, I have gotten the error when trying to install a mod that had not completed fully downloading when I thought it had. The error was due to an incomplete archive or a corrupted archive. Either way easily checked using a program like 7zip. Therefore the error had nothing to do with MO itself. Today's error was due to the Nexus, again, behaving flaky.
  3. Do not use the 3DNPCEFF.esp patch unless you actually encounter problems with Extensible Follower Framework (EFF). It is old and the 3DNPC page tells you not to use unless problems are encountered.
  4. I had the same error. The problem was Nexus crapped out on me downloading a huge file (Interesting NPCs 1.6 GB). The archive was corrupted. An easy way to check if this happened to you is try opening the the file with another program (7zip in my case) and if that fails the archive you have is corrupt. Re-download. This applies to MO 1.0.12. if you are using any other version upgrade.
  5. New version of the mod has been released. I have not tried any version yet, but find it interesting.
  6. You have to set them yourself. You should follow the order of the STEP guide.
  7. The second load order is correct.
  8. Load order does matter. Run BOSS.
  9. Update button longer works after recent Nexus update. To upgrade go to Nexus and download 1.0.11.
  10. Bug. Not sure if this is the place to post, but MO 1.0.10 fails when right-clicking 'check all for update' in the left panel with the response "Request from Nexus failed: empty response".
  11. Unfortunately NMM is not supported by STEP. You need to use Wyre Bash or Mod Organizer (MO). I would recommend MO.
  12. The bashed patch is not activated until you check it in the right panel of MO under the ESPs tab. If you already had it checked it will remain checked when you recreate it.
  13. Wow that was quick! Imagine what CaBaL could do if is wasn't for I am just worried with the vodka the textures might turn out blurry. EDIT: Sorry I did not notice at first it was not CaBaL's work and the comment is a joke of coarse.
  14. The current version of MO is v0.12.9. Try the following click on settings (the crossed screw driver and wrench icon), select the "installer" tab, UNCHECK both the "Prefer integrated fomod installer" and "Enable quick installer". Once done try to install. Some mods (very few) only work with "Prefer integrated fomod installer". Try the first and if that does not work, try the second.
  15. You are the man. Go fix it!!! Time allowing.
  16. The article is extremely old, October 2012.
  17. What do not mean by ModManager? Do you mean Nexus Mod Manager? If so, I do not believe it is supported by S.T.E.P. If you mean Mod Organizer, which version are you using?
  18. Agreed, maybe Cabal can succeed at eventually replacing SRO.
  19. I think it is too soon to tell if this is worthwhile. I know Boris is looking for people to help debug and your are a good candidate. Around these parts you seem to be the expert with regard to ENB. Of coarse I do not want to volunteer you. He seems to be doing it in real time, thus the many updates.
  20. I assume you are talking about TES5Edit, there is a search box on top. Just type in the esp name you are looking for. How hard is that?
  21. Look at your install of XP32 Maximum Skeleton. The skeleton usually determines the placement of weapons. Be sure to run FNIS anytime you make a change and in this case SUM also.
  22. I challenge you to name one current game where you think SLI makes a significant difference. I use a single EVGA GTX 680 4 GB after coming from duel SLI MSI GTX 470 1.25 GB. For modded Skyrim it is memory that counts. I have yet to see any game a single GPU (though high powered) can't handle (tosses down the gauntlet). Having SLI with two screaming GPUs only really gives you bragging rights, like having a large penis. Size really does not matter, it is what your do with it that counts.
  23. After screwing up Skyrim, about the time Neo froze SR where Skyrim looked liked total crap and I could not find a solution, I completely deleted everything Skyrim. This included all tools, steam skyrim directory, MO, except for the MO downloads directory and my vanilla skyrim saves used from testing. I began reinstalling SR and everything else from scratch doing my most careful install ever. Where multiple version of mods are available (for example SRO), I installed the light version after the normal. So for example, SRO has a "Skyrim Serious Overhaul 2K" and "Skyrim Serious Overhaul 1K" install. This allows quick changes in the resolution of textures without using DSSOpt simply by checking which version I want to use. After each install, I test run skyrim doing everything, as near as possible, the same way. I go from Helgrem, to Riverwood, until killing the 3 bandits at Whiterun Hold. This is with Skyrim Performance Monitor running and all performance stats are recorded into a file with comments if anything unusual happened. When I complete the install I plan to contribute the file, to the STEP community. Edit: Posted something I was not suppose too.
  24. I would point to the the Skyrim Revisited STEP based mod about optimizing DLC BSAs: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited
  25. It is nice to see to original mod authors for the mods I use around these parts.
