An example of why pirated games are not supported by STEP.

Glad you got it working. Already noted down this case as a great example of why crack'd versions are bad. Thank you very much for your assistance. -

When you get everything installed the easiest way to check is to go to Whiterun. The small market has examples of the modded foods on the counters and the doors to the stores are modified by Noble so you can see at a glance if both mods are working. That way no console commands are needed, not that that will cause issues. -

I'll be truthful and say I am finding hard to see how this can be related to a crack'd copy but as I said earlier unless there is some other detail about how you're modding that's the only thing left. Restoring your game to vanilla and not using any other manager to mod the game will mean MO2 is the only way the game is changed and since I have not seen any issue like this before I'm left with only what I have been given to work with. MO2 is installed on 1000's of machines and used to manage all sorts of mods with different setups and this just defies logic. If the textures are showing as being used in the MO UI they are the ones used in game. -

Okay I have installed both the mods you showcased and there is no issue on my machine. At this point in time the only difference in our two setups is you are using a crack'd version of Skyrim. How that makes a difference I don't know but unless there is something else in your setup that is not revealed to me, that is the only thing left. I think I have been generous in providing support for this setup, despite going against STEP's, and my own, stance on this subject. I am left with the only recourse I have and am no longer going to try and investigate this. It works on my machine and 1000's of others have not reported anything like this so it must be something on your end. Not the answer you're after but it is the only one I can give. -

In your video there were no plugins in those mods, all you did was move the position of the Noble Skyrim mod so that the Food mod had greater priority, correct? This make absolutely no sense. Despite my reticence I'm going to download those mods and see what it does on my system. If what you are describing is a widespread phenomenon we would be seeing users all over the place complaining about how MO2 doesn't handle files properly. Stay tuned. PS. The "src" folder for SKSE is not important, it's only for those that might want to compile their own versions. I'm assuming you meant to say SKSE64? -

Sure if you want to. This is becoming increasingly obscure. -
Please post your logs and your MO.INI. It will just be a simple fix to do with how you have MO setup but I'd like to see those files first.

What settings are in the INI Tweak? If you disable that INI change does it still fail? Honestly I'm at a loss to see how/why a mod that changes grass textures would have any impact on buildings, the only thing else is wild edits in that plugin, but since the texture pack you linked to only changes vanilla assets without assigning new paths, even that shouldn't matter, so I have no clue. As you can see in your screenshots MO2 is saying you have those textures in the VFS from that specific mod. Are there any other mods that are also trying to change those textures? If so try MO's "hide file" feature. -

Can you try moving MO2 out of the sub-folder of the Skyrim install? We've recently found that there are more issues when it is installed there. Also there are some later editions in the Discord server that may help. Goto the #builds channel and install the latest version and the beta 5 of the USVFS DLLs. -

Can I have the mo_interface.log please? Just checking on the status of the game because the path is clearly different and I have seen a lot of crack'd games lately and I'm starting to wonder what the correlation is. -

Two questions. Where is the ModOrganizer.log, that's the one that tells us the settings of your installation and is this install of Skyrim a "non-Steam" one? -
The location of the install has NO bearing on what game LOOT works on. You can make LOOT order the specific game by either: choose the game in LOOT's dropdown menu or add game switches to the arguments field in MO's executable setupFor Skyrim you can add: --game=Skyrim to the settings and for Skyrim Special Edition you add: --game="Skyrim Special Edition"

Okay. Clear the contents of your "logs" folder and then go to Settings and make sure the log level is at 'Debug'. Enable only the mods you have in your screenshot but disable the Verdant plugin and then post the logs here. Be sure to use 'spoiler' tags or use a service like PasteBin. Then enable that plugin and post the new USVFS log here so I can see what the VFS is doing when it is loaded. From what you have just told me there could be an issue with the VFS code. We are already onto testing a few beta VFS DLLs in the Discord server so it may just be a case of you needing to use one of those. -

The first thing that comes to mind is there are dirty edits in the plugin that are pointing to the incorrect textures. Basically if the set of textures defined in MO2's Data tab, or in the "Conflicts" tab, is showing the correct files there is only one way that they will not show. That is if they are defined in the plugin. Once MO2 is handed the set of files that are in the VFS there is no further input into the game that MO2 provides. This basically means I can't see how this is an issue caused by MO2. -
You've definitely reached the limit. I will not question your motivation/reasons for using a crack'd version but I will restate our stance here that we will not provide support for any game that is used that way. Google will provide any further answers to you plugin limit and what you will need to do.
-
There are a couple of things here that need addressing. It is hard to tell exactly but you have a lot of mods installed, it is quite possible you have reached the plugin limit. How many plugins are loading according to MO's right-hand pane? Also the path to your game seems to indicate you are using a non-Steam version of the game. STEP and the MO/MO2 development team do not support this. If you are indeed using a legitimate version of the game you will need to provide more proof of this. I am not going to provide more than this until it is shown otherwise to be a legitimate game.

Welcome to STEP @Krotgovnorot The error message doesn't seem to match with the problem you are describing. You talk of installing mods but the error is related to loading saved games. The saved game message is simply saying the plugins for that save are no longer active, this can have no impact on what/how you install mods. You could also assist us by providing more detail about your setup. MCM is the only indication to the sort of game you have but it could be FO3, FNV or FO4. We have no way of knowing. Additionally is this for MO1 or MO2? In either case your logs will assist us in seeing what is happening. Please post them inside "spoiler" tags or use an online host like PasteBin and provide links to them.
-
Okay, apologies then if I jumped down your throat. I must be a few editions out of whack then as I am nowhere that number. Also the guide is broken due to @Kelmych making a simple editing error, he said he'll fix it when he gets back in, just hang on a while for the time being. The best sort of plugins to start with are quests as they rarely have duplicate records and very little issues with masters or texture paths etc. Next you could look at minor edits like the Delay plugins, that sort of thing.
-
Clearly you're talking about MO's left-hand pane list of mods, not plugins, which is what the limit of the last discussion was about. If you are in fact using ~200 plugins then you need to prune some from your list and stick to just that listed in the guide. Now, back to ~200 mods. This is a purely arbitrary listing provided by MO and has no bearing whatsoever on the game. In times past all those mod installs would go directly into the game's Data folder and there would be no way of counting how many mods you had installed, nor would it matter. End result is: it does not matter how many mods are in MO's left-hand pane. You could easily have 100s of them. MO parses the files in the "winning" mods to the game which is only concerned with the files, not where they came from. To put this another way. The issues you have been facing are not the result of the mods chosen by the guide or the way they are installed/managed. Something else is breaking your game, probably a missed step or an incorrect INI setting or some other minor step. Please carefully check each step and see if you are in fact following instructions to the letter.

ModOrganizer2 Not loading textures/Sounds mods
GrantSP replied to ArgosVI's question in Mod Organizer Support
Well the most obvious thing would be mod conflicts. Perhaps your mod order is in need of a check? You can also check with MO's conflict resolution tools to see what, if anything, is overwriting those textures. However since some of those mods use plugins to load those textures it may not be as straight-forward as that. It could also be certain meshes might have hard-coded texture paths in them and therefore the game is using those textures, but as I said before any plugin loading would mean it is a tricky thing to track down. -
ModOrganizer2 Not loading textures/Sounds mods
GrantSP replied to ArgosVI's question in Mod Organizer Support
Two things to take note of: MO should never have to be run as admin MO should not be installed into the game folderIn fact that second point has, especially in Fallout 4 modded games, been shown to interfere with the use of some mods. It may indeed be the reason for your issues. Aside from that there is nothing in the logs that leap out at me to show why you have some mods not triggering. There are a few errors listed which may be due to your using Windows 7. Are you sure you have installed all the dependencies for MO? -

All plugins, including your merged plugin, that will be used in the game will need to be active when you're building your patch. -
Just my two cents worth but Norton may be more hassle than its worth. I just use Defender, because it's there, and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Even before that in more than 35 years of computing I have never been struck down by viruses. Just be sensible about what you allow on your system. I have heard however many horro stories from Norton users that rely on it to do the right thing and end up being burnt by it. Not trying to convince you otherwise, just a different viewpoint.
