I am going to go the opposite way... do not use the ENB manager.. its pointless if you are just going to be using ENBoost. Make sure to set up ENBoost so that the normal ENB graphics features are disabled. UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true This should disable the other stuff so the game can once again use imagespaces. This is what is used to darken the nights etc. The darker nights should work instantly if you enable the .esp and its nighttime. Also make sure that CoT is actually working... try to force some of its weathers though the console. fw XXX58149, or XXX5A1C0... etc. XXX depends on your load order. It should be 0Y0 where Y then is the number the CoT.esm has on your list counting from 0 as I recall. If the weathers do not show up when you do that, then you have an install issue.
-
Time of day set to true means that instead just day and night separation, you also have sunrise and sunset. Every weather have parameters in the CK for all stages, it was just ENB that originally did not have it included. The Day night settings determine when those stages start and end. So you can make mornings longer/shorter etc. The weather part only allows one to use the helper mod to give (almost) every single weather or group of weathers their own respective enbseries.ini file.

Skyrim Tweaks Website
Aiyen replied to Deathwing514's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Not so much that it makes it unstable... it just does not have any visible effects on performance. Hence the mantra "less is better" have to apply... at least imo. Some people have reported that it caused instability issues.. but again if it is this or something else is hard to say. -
The general issue comes back to "copyrights" and update issues... any sort of thing that does what you suggest would require constant maintenance, and the acceptable of every mod author that has content included. The mod scene is in constant flux, and some mods may not be updated every other day, but some are. Also in order to ensure compatiblity one would have to make patches, and sometimes alter the original work which again would also require consent.

Neck/Head seams with vanilla textures
Aiyen replied to ploeperpengel's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Its a mesh/texture issue, so install path should have nothing to do with it. If you want to isolate the issue, then try to extract the .bsa archives, and find the head mesh and load it up in nifskope. You can also apply the texture in that program. If its a general issue with your drivers etc. then it should also show up in there. Alternatively try to download and install new meshes and textures for body and head, and see if the problem persists. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Aiyen replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Very true, but its a free service with free updates, so one is not entitled to it being a cake walk. Many people seem to forget that... But then again that is a general issue for mods. Btw great work on the guide so far Ess! -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Aiyen replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You can make all the general guidelines you want, people still need to adjust every setting for their own system. If you find one of the parameters work nicely for you even though someone else says they should not then just too bad for them. The main issue many people have is that its not just plug and play... they actually have to think and trial and error a little bit themselves, to learn what their own system requires, and can offer. -
Neck/Head seams with vanilla textures
Aiyen replied to ploeperpengel's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That looks a bit odd for vanilla textures only! Are you sure you do not have something in that alters the faces (ie not body replacers, but just faces) ? I can in no way reproduce that effect for just pure vanilla textures, since they are made so they blend very well on a large range off lighting conditions. At least to my experience. -
Skyrealism does follow the trends, its semi updated to the newest. And MTich was one of the first to dig up alot of post processing features. But I agree its not the most comprehensive of presets out there. Kermles collection is far larger for example, but based on MTichs contributions. What really makes Skyrealism special was that it was more or less the first which deviated alot from the standard ENB template that Boris delivers. The only thing one can argue about is his sales pitch... most of the effects in any ENB you can go over to the Nvidia HLSL shader lib. and copy paste, and they have been there for many years. Boris have also said on many occasions that he is a bit puzzled why nobody is doing anything but color correction, when ENB allows for so much more. Reason being that there are no dedicated HLSL coders in our community that knows how to write the shaders from the ground up. Or if they do... they just cba. But yeah most preset authors share their work. because... why reinvent the plate every single time! I recently also decided to just go about and write my own from the ground up. The idea was to find a way to implement new tone mapping, since just about EVERY single ENB preset out there now uses what is called Reinhard's, or the modified version of it, and it always caused me issues with colors not moving smoothly into one another. And in combination from this found a new idea on how adaptation is used when calculating the gamma so that it should be technically impossible for the adaptation to cause super bright, but without ruining or eliminating the effect entirely. Will release once I get Rootsrat back to testing! (Yes I did fix the adaptation now!!! )Â

Welcome to the chaos... I mean STEP forums Mangaclub! Glad to hear that you got it stable. Sadly its not what most people reported back, and for now any development on it is discontinued. Also with the rather long mod lists that people use here then it might not be super stable. But I recommend to try it out, since your approach is a really nice one.

Something is causing ENB to create a terrible sunray effect
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in Post-Processing Support
I created my own ENB preset from the ground up. Forgot which sun textures I use atm... been so long since I messed around with that. -
Unless your allergic to orange.... then it is not recommended :P

Just try it out. They all do different things, set them up so you get what you like. -

Just wait ingame until its 12:00 midday. Then alter the DAY values, and set the rest to this value. Also good that you are aware of the texture paths! :) -

Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in Post-Processing Support
CoT uses a different path for its textures, so you are in fact not using sunglare if you are using CoT 3.1 but rathers its default ones. The higher to set the haziness the less intense the glow becomes. It will all be very clear once you start, and it should not take super long. Just go somewhere and make sure the ingame time is around 12:00 and then adjust the values. The value you get you can replace the rest with. Move our screen so you can see the sun clearly. If its bad weather then take a clear one. open the console and the ENB GUI, and tweak away. The reason for this is so the screen does not move all over the place when you do it. A sun rays of 1.0 is rather strong... I only use 0.4. But again do as above and adjust acordingly. As I recall then skyrealism only use Day night separation, not sunrise, day, sunset. -

Yup along with the glow haziness. edit: also the sun rays if you think the god rays are too strong. If they are super strong then it will also cause brightening -

Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in Post-Processing Support
Yes. Your sun textures, are not configured to work with the values used in the given preset. Open the GUI and go find the sun intensity and glow under SKY and adjust them until you are happy. In general you should do this in every single preset that does not come with its own sun textures, since its impossible for authors to take into account every single sun configuration out there. Many forget to mention it however! -
DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
Aiyen replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
On a semi related note. Due to this thread I went in and tested the RWT 2 waters LOD... and on my system it looks nice. Has the right amount of specularity, and there is no checker pattern... there is a line pattern but its still better imo. Also I noticed zooming around with free camera that the sky only reflects in a small area around where your avatar is located, while the sun is reflecting from its angle regardless of how you look. (the reflectivity) As for the water looking like spilled paint, then that has more to do with the land water interface then how the specularity and reflectivity is. If there was a way to make a gradient transition between land and water then it would look a lot better. -
You can always consult the documentation, since at the end of the day what matters is what you think looks nice! Some people prefer the warmer color temperatures since its easier on their eyes. Also heard the opposite argument. It varies from person to person. I would recommend doing one of those online tests, and see the differences there. They have specially made diagrams etc. which will help make the decisions. They are also normally quite good at explaining what you need to look for.
-
My guess would be normal... and I think the sRGB one might be shifted more upwards towards the green part of the color palette. The cold and warm speak for themselves.
-
Color temperature is essentially just what color you would normally see at a given temperature... used in stellar physics as well... where the hotter you get the more blue/white the color is, while the color you get when its colder is more red... a bit counter logical at first, but it does make sense. So the higher K the more blueish it will appear to your eyes. Around the 6500K mark you are somewhat in the middle of the sRGB space and hence has the best option for displaying most of the color space. I guess that is the jist of it, at least that is how I recall it. But then to answer your original question, no I do not use a cinema preset... other then to watch movies, since it tends to color the screen blueish, which helps with shadows in movies etc. and in general just blends the colors used in movies better together for a sharper image.
-
What do you mean cinema preset ? I use a movie preset for watching movies that my monitor has built in. I use its gaming preset sometimes for some games. I also have a sRGB preset.. but it just looks a bit off to me. And from what I have read then its mainly for professional use and put in so photo people would not have to do anything to start using the monitor.
-
Your driver based settings etc. should be set to "let the application control it". I am not familiar with said test, but I guess its for monitors that can show multiple color spaces (These are mostly professional monitors like Eizo´s). Since for games etc. then you want to use the sRGB space since that is what all (I am not aware of any made specifically for any other at least) games are designed around... afaik then the other color spaces are mainly used in professional programs, and functions... since certain color spaces produce something that looks more alike what you print etc. I am sure there is a photo specialist among us that can come with the details there!

Skyrim Revisited and Lighting/Weather/ENB - Is It Possible?
Aiyen replied to Dread86's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
You always want to use d3d9.dll from ENB since without it it does not work. Any other .dll needs to be renamed and proxied to function. As you already seem to know you do this in the enblocal.ini now. Set proxy to true, and put in the correct file name. If you use RCRN´s ... then enb is not even installed, and you are using their injection thingy.
