  1. After reading the description of the mod, it tends to make me believe that it doesn't add new npc's, but rather alters them so that they level. Can anyone confirm if npc's are also added into the game, and if so, how much?
  2. I'm all for epic monsters, so long as they are few and far between. Something to be said about epic encounters that are tough, but that offer higher rewards. Like MM, I don't want them roaming the country side like the common ant though. And there should only be one ninja in the world. Me. :P
  3. I'll have to check these out then. Once I do get past 25, I'd rather it still feel challenging.
  4. I checked out the video, and this looks very promising and like the idea of having random variants. I want a pink mammoth for a mount. :)
  5. Now that is great idea for a profession. Pick a dragon, get a hat! Get 'em while they're HOT.
  6. RLwC shouldn't be causing texture shimmer. What are your settings currently for AA and AF in both Skyrim and in nVidia Control Panel (or Inspector)?
  7. Some of these issues are most likely going to be ongoing. I would just create a new thread with any relevant settings that are determined as this conversation continues.
  8. Don't hold your breath on SkyBoost. :P
  9. For z-fighting, yes I would agree.
  10. It definitely does. Castle walls and grass are particularly bad when it is enabled. Free looking with FXAA also causes excessive texture blurring, making some scenes unidentifiable briefly, when you need to turn around very fast.
  11. It's not just mountains that this affects, or at least I see it occur on buildings as well. In this image , I've circled wall-ends where I see the same type of flickering looking at Whiterun, though the setting above doesn't seem to help that much. EDIT: The picture is from a fairly fresh install, I currently only have SRO and RCRN installed.
  12. Interesting. Just tired this out, and it is far less pronounced. For me, if there was a region on a mountain that was flickering, now it's more like the border of that region flickers rather than the entire area.
  13. I'm pretty sure are right. I'm guessing a Skyrim patch started it, since the problem occurs for both nVidia and AMD cards.
  14. The flickering on distant mountains is the z-fighting that has been there since the release as far as I can tell, though it may have become more prominent with the HD DLC and patches. I can't remember back that far as to whether I noticed it on day one or not.
  15. I have two new characters. One for testing, and one for a new run. End game or bust! :P
  16. Based on the description, it only uses one shout, and the behavior of the actions is then determined by what your character is doing, looking at, standing next to, etc. Some of the actions are pretty common place things and could especially lend themselves to fan made machinima.
  17. Here are my current nVidia Inspector settings. I still need to go back through and tweak the Skyrim settings, and I haven't done that yet after a fresh re-install. But currently, I have 4xMSAA and 16xAF, and Ultra settings. with SSAA, I do drop FPS, typically about 2-3 in cities, up to 5 out in the world. Currently using a single GTX580.
  18. This is a tough one, but after thought, I'm leaning towards graphic. Mainly because there currently isn't a true type for this kind of mod. While it adds more birds, they aren't critical to the playability of the game such as adding additional bandit mobs, or player housing.
  19. I haven't experienced the black circles, but will keep my eye out when I start getting ready to tweak my install again. The z-fighting issue is annoying, but I have yet to see any working fix. I've tested several combinations of AA, and at the moment I'm using 4XMSAA (set in Skyrim Launcher), and use nVidia Inspector to enhance the configuration and add 4XSSAA, and then use 4XTRSSAA. I get no texture shimmering at all, and while the z-fighting issue is still there, it seems slightly reduced at greater distances, and diminishes quickly upon approach.
  20. Haven't tested this myself. Any word yet on which versions are better for the conflicts?
  21. Sadly, I haven't even gone past lvl 25. Started modding and on several occasions started a new game, so I don't know what it's like past that level yet. I believe things should be challenging through the entire process, so hopefully this, or other mods, will help provide that once I finally make it past 25. :)
  22. Kind of surprised by the low performance results. But the apparent "fixing" of the textures is enough to run through the process. Curious what the results would be like out in open fields.
  23. Great find, thanks for posting this. Very nice comparison images.
  24. That one is area with RL that I don't agree with them doing, and saddly it seems they are starting down the path of including that go beyond what a lighting mod should do (IMO), starting with the fog removal. At the very least, such things should not be forced, but provided as an option.
  25. Great work! Can't wait to see more results.
