DROPPED BOSS (by WrinklyNinja)
stoppingby4now replied to Bealdwine's question in Other Utilities Support
Good catch. I actually redirected it back to my Skyrim directory but it hadn't occured to me that it could cause a problem (as I don't use MO). I haven't installed it yet. Does it not give you an option for installation directory? Hopefully it can be moved to a new location without affecting anything else. If it writes its location in the registry, should be simple to change. -
Steam Workshop and Wrye Bash Compatability
stoppingby4now replied to MadWizard25's question in Wrye Bash Support
It could potentially be tricked by altering the registry key for the installation directory and having a copy of Skyrim Launcher in the alternate location. After done downloading, change the installation location back. No idea though if it's tie-in with steam would cause any problems, or if it does any checks on the installation. The latter could be tricked, it's Steam we'd have to worry about. -
Skyrim Unplugged (by stoppingby4now)
stoppingby4now replied to stoppingby4now's question in Other Utilities Support
I've done some preliminary testing to try and handle SW downloads, and so far, the only way I can see to manage that is to block network communication for Skyrim Launcher. That could open up bigger problems, and not everyone uses the same firewall, etc. Not saying it's impossible, but I'm not a full time programmer, and at this time it's currently above my head for a quick solution. -
I "think" I found what is causing the problem and made a change, but it's only speculation. I wish I had a machine with IE8 to test it in.
-
I had a typo and linked to an older version of jquery which is known to cause such errors in IE8. I fixed the version that is loaded, so let me know if you still experience it. You may need to clear out your cache as well. Still getting it on work pc, deleted temporary files (but not cookies) yesterday and forced refresh of page. Still happening today after a reboot Is IE8 giving you an option to debug the page? If so, try and get what file/resource the error is occurring in. The tab breadcrumbs themselves don't use javascript, and if there is a CSS style that it doesn't like, it should be ignoring it. I'm betting it's a javascript issue because there aren't even 1182 lines in the HTML source. All versions of IE can be such a picky @#$%! sometimes. EDIT: I installed XPMode VirtualPC so I could install IE8 in it and test it out. Darn thing blue screens when I try to create a VM the first time, then my entire system goes wonky. Way to go MS!

Good Performance Hunting
stoppingby4now replied to Bealdwine's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
@zMan I do a mixture of the two, usually opting for 4X resolution in landscape, and lower res options for clutter. What kind of results would be seen if running DDSOpt against the 4X textures? Is there any kind of quality drop? Would it be better to just get the 2X and optimize those? -
I agree with you. I want to change it so that there is something like the following: Spoiler: [show] Where [show] is a button, and the text changes to Hide, etc. Trying to finish up the last minute gotchas on the blue theme and I'll work on changing that.
-
My bad. Should be fixed now. Ironically, IE and Chrome were doing what they were supposed to, but Firefox wasn't. It should've been doing the same thing in Firefox. Spoiler should be working in IE and Chrome now, and also fixed the hover display for IE where it was turning into a black to very dark blue gradient making it impossible to see the text.
-
It's not intentional. I'm guessing you are using IE, as I just tried it in IE and got the same result. It was working before I broke out CSS styles for it, and I apparently forgot something and broke it for IE.. Grr. :)
-
I've tried to add "Mark All Forums Read" to other areas, but the function requires a specific code that apparently is only accessible to the board stats template. I can't even access the language text for that function. Pretty annoying. Adding to my plate of things to work on and see if I can't find some way of making that available on a global level. For now, unfortunately, it's only accessible from the main page.

DROPPED BOSS Userlist Manager (by Surazal)
stoppingby4now replied to Bealdwine's question in Other Utilities Support
Great list, thanks for the info. I downloaded Boss Userlist Manager, and it is quite awesome. Will be using it gong forward. -
I'm with you, been using 7. I have a card with 3GB of VRAM, but when trying 9 the loads would just sit there forever forcing me to kill TESV.exe (with STEP install). I think 7 is a great balance though, so have stuck with it.

A spoiler tag has been added as bbcode, but not officially been advertised. If you have large amounts of text from a config file, or similar, please make use of the spoiler tag so that the main discussion of a post is easier to follow. The spoiler tag works like in many other forum software, just add the following: [spoiler]My Super Long Text[/spoiler] Example: If you want to further keep the thread tighter, you can also include config files in a code BBCode so that it gets a scroll bar. (A space has been added to the end code bbcode for display purposes). [spoiler][code]My Super Long Text[ /code][/spoiler][/code] Example: [spoiler][code] ;# ____ _ _ _ ___ ___ _____ ____ ;# | _ \ | | (_) (_) |__ \ / _ \ | ____| |___ \ ;# | |_) | __ _ ___| |__ _ _ __ _ ) | ( (_) | | |__ __) | ;# | _ < / _` / __| '_ \ | | '_ \| | / / \__, | |___ \ |__ < ;# | |_) | (_| \__ \ | | |_| | | | | | / /_ / / ___) |_ ___) | ;# |____/ \__,_|___/_| |_(_)_|_| |_|_| |____| /_/ |____/(_)|____/ ;The Default Font for the ASCII Art Headers is Lucida Console, Regular, 10 (Notepad) ;--This is the generic version of Bash.ini. Experiencing that myself. Something else is wonky though. If I click on New Threads, the list it's providing me is not accurate. Aside from the sticky threads that were created, there are a few posts that did not show up in that list. I'm beginning to wonder if that patch broke something else.
-
I tried out Wars in Skyrim early on, and I did like that added fights you would come across. Bugs caused me to remove it, so I'll definitely check it out again. I loved the lesser amount of added bandit attacks.

Good Performance Hunting

Yeah, one my biggest beef with the game is their shadows. I set iBlurDeferredShadowMask to 0 as well. I'll have to look up what shadow settings I'm using later. I can live with them when running around and focusing on other content, but just standing there taking in the scenery...belch. -
On a whim, I tried their max settings for everything (ugrids at 7). Couldn't load any save game, instant CTD. Fair enough, I didn't expect it to work anyway. I then loaded a new game and watched the scene in the wagon and it played through that ok. Average FPS was 55 - 60, with drops down to 48. And that is with pure HD vanilla. I'd hate to see what it would be like with STEP installed.

DROPPED BOSS (by WrinklyNinja)
stoppingby4now replied to Bealdwine's question in Other Utilities Support
Woot! Finally. The new BOSS should in fact be updating the plugins.txt file. My installation is in a mess so can't test at the moment. -
In case anyone who is trying the theme is wondering the same thing about New Posts, it is a menu item under Search.
-
I use Firefox with those addons as well. Very odd. I'd be curious to see if others are experiencing this. I haven't yet, but will keep an eye out.
-
What site theme and browser are you using?
-
Maybe you're a poet and didn't know it? Sorry, couldn't resist. Are the line breaks appearing in the editor at all, or only after you post?
