  1. I feel like I should be a court jester, juggling mini cheesecakes in a desparate attempt to gain favor.
  2. In the particular case of SRO, there is a two part stage of installing. The first (which was done earlier in the process) was to install the mod with all textures. The reason there is an additional step is to "recover" certain textures that end up getting overwritten by other mods up until that particular step. Hope that makes sense. So, yes, you would open the archive and extract its contents to a temporary location so that you can find the file that need to be copied. This is a manual process, as mod managers can't handle this extra level of installation currently. Hope that makes sense.
  3. Ideally it would just skip it. That is one thing that will surely need to be tested, and I'm interested in that as well since I don't install all STEP mods either.
  4. Yup, just make sure to remove the HRDLC ESM's (or BSA's from the archive list) from loading.
  5. Sweet, I'll add it to the list to check out. Need something cheap for breaks seeing as I can't play Skyrim at the moment. This suddenly made me think of another game, Europa Universalis. I played version I and loved it, and it had multiplayer.
  6. I found that on a blog while doing research, and it gave me a good chuckle. But I definitely can see myself having had that same exact conversation.
  7. I assume you are running version Skyrim at patch 1.6? There are reports all over of issues with it, including bad performance and CTD's. Part of it is surely that not all mods have been updated yet, and I blame the rest is due to beta cycles that are far too short to get anything fixed.
  8. True Story. I once took a cat into the vet. It was my first time there so I had to fill out a form. One of the things they wanted to know was the pet’s species. Crap. I dug deep into the part of my brain that was supposed to be holding on to my high school Latin, but I just couldn’t quite get it. I made a stab–felis domesticatus–no, can’t be right. I walked up to the lady at the desk. “Do people really know this?†“Know what?†“The species of their pet.†“Yeah, usually.†I pointed at my cat. “What’s this?†She blinked, then answered, “It’s a cat.â€
  9. If I were only to try one version, is there any compelling reason to go with Civ IV over Civ V?
  10. So is civ 4 one the better ones? I haven't played either of the games from the series, which honestly is surprising because I love RTS games.
  11. Don't make me close this thread. :P
  12. Skyrim is LAA aware, and has been for awhile as Mad pointed out. But it won't use a full 4GB, and it has no need to.
  13. Has anyone tested this combined version of the mod with 1.6 to give any definitive details on if its compatible yet?
  14. I examined the pic closer, and it looks to me like a ghosting effect caused by catching the frame mid render. Zoom in and you can clearly see where the fingers were before. The extra darkness of the outline of the tips of the fingers is likely caused by this on top of the lack of AA (screenshots won't capture post process AA).
  15. Very intresting behavior. Are you sure Skyrim.esm, et.al. are actually eating up a slot?
  16. Another great example that leaves many wondering why they even release a Beta. They are too short, and let too many problems slip through.
  17. I can appreciate wanting to get it right versus just out the door. Even if waiting sucks. :P
  18. I agree with the comments about the wood. I really do like that they added the rivet on the reverse side which the vanilla is lacking.
  19. Honestly, I hope that SKSE gets to the point where all of these other mods can switch. Alexander works a lot of projects, not just for Skyrim, and thus releases when new patches come out take awhile. I think in the long run, it would be far better to have one scripting engine that folks can use, and the SKSE folks are always on the top of their game.
  20. Should be no longer needed, or at least will be the case soon enough.
  21. Yeah, 768 MB will be making you VRAM hungry for sure. Do you currently have all of STEP installed, or have you left some texture mods out?
  22. That's great to hear! Should report it on the Bethesda forums, as I haven't seen information that answers this there.
  23. You could add a small ESP that provides something in game that is easy to test and make it the last ESP to load.
