  1. True Medieval Tavern Music works like a charm. It doesn't play when the bard is singing/playing their music. Once they stop, the Tavern music kicks in. Bard Sing On Request Only still needs to be tested, as it is an obvious companion to this mod.
  2. IN regards to Skyrim version, that could be worded a little better in the guide. The reason Skyrim version is important, is because it plays a big part in our testing. But by no means is the STEP guide meant to be limited to specific versions. The reason I thought It might be important is just the period it time STEP was last updated. By the looks of the changelog a lot of the mods are obsolete/broken at this point because not only has the game updated but all the mods I'm being asked to apply are no longer the same mods they were back in september when 2.2.0 was released because they are all updated and different now as well. Also some of the mods ARE version dependent and either should/shouldn't be run with a newer version of skyrim, no? Does anyone know the status on 2.2.1? Is it very closely nearing release? If it will be released soonish I will gladly just wait for the smoothest experience but if it will be a while I can try and tinker with 2.2.0a. It is true that some mods will be version specific (bug fix, new feature, etc.). The version specific information (I did not make clear) is related to the mods themselves. Since mods do get updated, following any version of STEP assumes you are on the latest version of Skyrim. That is why Skyrim version is important in our testing, primarily because we will always test against the latest version, and never previous ones. We also don't specifically call out the versions of mods that are used in the guide (unless a specific version has to be used for whatever reason). So I guess the point is, if your Skyrim is not at the latest version, you could stumble across problems with mods regardless of which version of STEP you follow. There will be cases where certain mods won't work anymore, but they should be very few. As for a release date for STEP 2.2.1, we don't have one yet. Still some work to do on our end. Ok thank you very much. I will go ahead and fully update and follow the 2.2.0a guide as closely as I can then. I'm excited as all hell to try this out! haha It is best to use the older versions of all mods you have still from 2.2.0. Forcing updates will only increase the chances of a problem. Update only the fixes and the interface mods, and try to leave the rest alone if possible. That's not realistic, as a lot of mods don't have the older versions available. In some cases, that could cause more problems. STEP doesn't tie mod versions, nor should it. The important aspect is Skyrim version, and updating mods will be important in keeping things happy.

  5. I thought it was "If I'm Really Constipated". J/K
  6. Mod managers will only install files in the Data directory. It's a matter of safety to ensure someone doesn't throw in a .DLL or attempt to overwrite your game files. Any utility that requires files in the root Skyrim folder is going to be a manual install. This thread has some information (including a simple bat script I wrote) to allow creating/removing a symbolic link in the Data directory that points back to the root Skyrim folder. I use this whenever I want to create an archive that allows me to install files in the root folder with Wrye Bash. However, since MO virtualizes the files/directories, I have no idea if it would work in that case.
  7. I just tried this out in game after listening to the sample, and it's brilliant! I also tried out Bards Sing on Request ONLY, and LIAT. These combined give a much more immersive feel to the tavern, as LIAT will start to have folks streaming into the tavern in the evening. That's a way a tavern should be. I did notice the music took awhile to kick-in, but with the combination of these mods, I thoroughly enjoyed just sitting at the bar and "people watching". :P
  8. I'm loving these war paints.
  9. I thought that the big red warning box was enough to grab attention. Maybe it needs to be uglier and more in your face. I think this also warrants a javascript popup informational box whenever you visit a development version to make it even more clear that it is not finished and that you proceed at your own risk, yadda yadda.
  10. This looks worthy. I never payed a lot of attention to the windmills, but something never felt quite right about them, and this may be why.
  11. We had some confusion on permissions a couple days ago. I just fixed it, and you should be able to log-in now.
  12. Hehe...the .139 screenshots make me feel like a fish looking out of a fishbowl.
  13. what browser?Firefox 18... I've been having some issues with this version though.Same here. Losing your post after submitting is quite interesting. I've never experienced that. Not sure how I could attempt to duplicate it to try and find the culprit. Did you use "New Reply" or "Quick Reply" when this happened? I used the Quote button to replay. Typed in my text afterwards. Then clicked Post Reply. It only happens once in a blue moon. Not sure if it's related, but I always tend to hit the save button on the editor since the Post Reply button is usually off my screen. I'll start using the button instead and see if that makes a difference.
  14. I turned off a little while ago because it was not working for me.Myself and Neo, have both reported it not working for us. @Z, How ironic...LOL @S4N It did the posting with the missing text again... I didn't hit backspace or tab. I didn't copy anything. Just typed and hit post and BAM....no typed text. what browser?Firefox 18... I've been having some issues with this version though.Same here. 16. Re: Quotes This is due to the way CKEditor logic handles its determination of where elements should go and where they should be split. Since my goal was to mimic WYSIWYG entirely, I updated the handling of quotes to include the cite information (either when manually adding a quote, or viewing them in a reply). That single cite element is the source of the trouble in regards to splitting quotes (with multiple). Splitting a single quote block works fine, however. Re: Paste You need to make sure to place the cursor where you want it to go. When you switch off to another site or application to copy text, the editor seems to lose where it thinks the cursor should be. In Firefox, all I need to do is place the cursor explicitly by clicking and paste works fine (haven't double checked in Chrome or IE). I've also noticed that if you have text highlighted it will paste at the top, so if you are trying to replace text you will need to delete it before pasting. Re: Post information disappearing The only time I have seen this occur is when hitting tab (accidentally) which causes the focus to be lost. Consequently, hitting the backspace key is one known cause of the page being refreshed and your information being lost (and why only the quotes remain). When I can get around to updating the plugin, I'll see if there is something that can be done about tab (prevent focus from being lost).
  17. Thanks for spotting that, that was the cause.
  18. There's a few extensions for MediaWiki that allow you to set approved revisions for important pages so that only "admin" approved versions get shown to unregistered users. This might provide some anti vandalism control. I've also seen an extension that make new users get "approval" for a set number of edits, though I'm not sure if it was for MediaWiki or another Wiki engine. Something else that might be worth looking into. We aren't as worried about vandalism since only registered users on the forum will have access to write on the Wiki. Key pages that support our infrastructure are protected, but everything else is open to registered members to allow for full contribution.
  19. Thanks for pointing that out, it has been corrected.
  20. Hmmm...you're right it's not. The Wiki is setup to generate an HTML 5 document, and for whatever reason caused the search box to break in Chrome (i.e. this is a Chrome issue). Will look into it further when I can. In the meantime, I've added a search link in the Wiki menu which will take you to the Search page.
  21. The setting unfortunately affects all users, including guests (i.e. bots could take advantage). Will look into getting something working for registered users.
  22. #D17A4E is great for emphasis when combined with #E6B69E. See Category:ModSection_B for an example.
