Thanks for clearing this up for me. I did not read the the wiki text for High Resolution Texture Pack good enough. I thought the optimized versions of the textures from the High Resolution Texture Pack was referring to this mod but that was a mistake...damn it...back to installing STEP :) cheers

What is initweaks.ini and profile_tweaks.ini in profile?
xxx78 posted a question in Mod Organizer Support
Hi There is two files in my profile folder and Im unsure why they is there and I did not find any info of any of the MO guides. initweaks.ini seem to be a summary of all ini tweaks from mods I have have added, is this right? and why is this file here, does MO read this file after reading the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini? profile_tweaks.ini I have no idea what it is doing here. Anyone knows? Also I have this warning in MO saying: ini tweask overwritten. It is related to profile_tweaks.ini and I have tried to solve it but with no success so far. How can I solve this issue? [spoiler=warning in MO ini tweask overwritten]Settings provided in ini tweaks have been overwritten in-game or in an applications. These overwrites are stored in a separate file (profile_tweaks.ini within the profile directory)to keep ini-tweaks in their original state but you should really get rid of this file as there isno tool support in MO to work on it.Advice: Copy settings you want to keep to an appropriate ini tweak, then delete profile_tweaks.ini.Hitting the Fix button will delete that file profile_tweaks.ini: [Display] fShadowBiasScale=1.0000 This setting [Display] fShadowBiasScale=1.0000 is one of my tweaks added in a mod but I have 6-7 other tweaks and I only this on show up in this warning and no other tweaks. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help :) cheers -
In the wiki instruction for High Resolution Texture Pack it say that: "If optimized versions of the textures from the High Resolution Texture Pack are used they should be placed directly after HighResTexturePack03" I wonder what this instruction refer to since this mod is a optimized version of high resolution texture pack but its placement is further down the line?

Very nice that a guide was made for this mod, but to be honest I just got more confused after reading it than I was after reading the original ini file. It can be a "just me" issue, but if anyone have interest maybe could be an idea to take a look at it. Short and simple tend to work well -

In the change log to Unofficial Skyrim Patch v2.0.4 (2014-05-17) is this bug fixed: 000B6607, 000B6608: Floating bow and quiver. (Bug #15383) Maybe this is the reason that this mod is not that needed anymore... -
Hi Instead of putting all ini tweaks from mods, the STEP guide and other tweaks I'm testing straight into MO ini files, I have made a folder as written about in the MO STEP guide where I put all my ini tweaks. I prefer this method, it make it safer to add ini tweaks since I dont touch the MO ini files and also easier to keep track of all my tweaks in one place. [spoiler=From MO guide - cut some text away to keep text focused] To set up a new custom tweak you can do a couple of things. With MO closed create a new empty folder in the Mods directory and restart MO. MO will now show the new folder as a greyed out mod. An easier way to do this in the current version of MO, is if you have an empty overwrite folder to double click on it open it up and right click and create a new folder, you do not need to rename it. With that done you will be able to right click on the overwrite folder and select “Create Mod†from the right click menu. Give it a name that reflects what you want, something like Custom ini Tweaks and press OK. You now have a new mod named Custom ini Tweaks. In either case double click on the new mod to open the information pane and select the INI-Files tab. Click in the lower left box and right click to get the “create Tweak†fly out menu. Enter the name of the tweak in the dialog that pops up and click OK. A condensed version of the above is: Make a empty folder in mods folder in MO Double click on that empty folder mod in the install list Open to INI-tab In the bottom-left pane, right-mouse click and select Create Tweak Enter a name (e.g. Particle Tweak) In the Right Pane, type the ini tweak you want to make. E.g.[Particles] iMaxDesired=6000 Save and close Do you guys think doing ini tweaks this way is ok? What is a good placement of such a "ini setting" mod? Does MO load the ini files in the profile folder first before any mod? Any help is appreciated..cheers :) EDIT: Added one more question

After doing some more testing and talking with some friends this mod dont seem to be needed if you play a male char with default body. On the other hand if you play a female with CBBE body or something like that this mod have a purpose. Can someone else confirm this also or is it just me and my friends :P? -
Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
hehe yeah, but I like it Anyway, I have never had issues with backup programs before but I think this become an issue with mod organizer since it is running virtual when the game is started. I think if I had put this files in Skyrim data folder this would not have happened but that's just speculation at this point. Thanks for helping m8 and I hope Im out of the dark now, back to installing STEP now and solving other Skyrim + modding issues -
Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I think I have found the issue and solved this, but I'm not 100% sure yet, need more testing. Issue was: After starting the game some times I suddenly got this error message from "SkyUI" when loading or starting a new game: Error Code 4: Your Papyrus INI settings are invalid... I then spent 10-15 hours on this trying to figure out what was happening and I even started over again with fresh install of game, STEP, tools and mod organizer, but the same happened again. After some time I found out that "Skyfalls" and "Main Menu Spinning Emblem" stopped working at the same time as I got the error message from SkyUI. If I then reinstalled this mods again everything worked well for some time until it all stopped again. Solution: I started to think that it could be something outside the game itself since I had two STEP installations with the exactly same issue, and it seem like my own backup system have backfired this time. Due to loss of many hours of work some years back I implemented a heavy backup system, real time backup of small changes, hourly backup on important things like mod organizer folder, and daily image of windows. So what I did was disabling all backup routines and stopping those programs. After I did this I have not received the error message from SkyUI anymore, and "Skyfalls" and "Main Menu Spinning Emblem" is working perfectly after starting Skyrim 15 times. Explanation: It seem like running hourly and real time backup on mod organizer folder some how interrupted certain scripts from running correctly. I dont know if this was because I played at the same time I did backups but that seem most likely, I dont know if it is the hourly backup or real time backup that is the cause of this issues, anyway it seemed to be solved now. I need to test more to be 100% sure but at least I think I'm on the right track. It seem to come to a happy ending after all -
DROPPED Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows (by EvilDeadAsh34)
xxx78 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hi guys I'm installing STEP core and extended according to the 2.2.9 Guide. After installing this mod I did some testing and the quivers are overlapping 30-40% with my armor. I'm playing a male character and I have tested with Imperial and stormcloack armor found in the start area (Helgen keep and dungeon). When I'm not using this mod quivers fit perfectly, very close and no overlapping or clipping. I have tried disabling all mods in the 2.I. Clothing & Equipment since many of those have effect on armor but it was no change. I wonder if this mod is better for female characters or if something is wrong here? Pick 1 = without "Quivers Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows": Pick 2 = with "Quivers Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows": EDIT: Added pictures I'm not sure this is the right place to post something like this so please move me if I'm in the wrong place...thx :) -
Hi guys I see that some mods in the STEP guide have some ini changes/tweaks that is needed or recommended to be used for skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini. After reading the mod organizer guide I see 3-4 options to implement those ini tweaks and I wonder if one way is better than others. Here is some ways to implement ini tweak that I know about: 1. Edit MO ini files directly either in profile folder in MO dir 2. Edit ini files using ini editor or configurator in MO. 3. Add ini tweaks in the relevant mods under ini flags tab. 4. Create a empty folder in mods directory in MO and add ini tweaks under ini files flag in MO. - Where in install order should this mod be placed, first, last? So what method do you guys recommend, or is it the same what I do? Personally I prefer method 4, make it easy to keep track of all ini changes and where they come from, easier to make new changes and also keep the ini files in profile clean and original.

Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
partly, last time I asked if it would create problems running SKSE not as a mod installed in MO. This time I asked if it will create any problems using both the SKSE readme installation method putting files right into skyrim game folder + having SKSE installed as a mod in MO :) I know m8, and I appreciate that you guys have taken modding in Skyrim one step longer. Ok thanks for explaining that. Im a noob in this context but I have to say, welcome to the club. I'm a perfectionist and is following the STEP guide methodically and slowly and double checking things one the way. Have a spreadsheet with details for each mod in STEP guide organized under different subjects to quickly find things. Anyway some day I will find this out and then It probably is some obvious silly things but for now this is killing me. Yes have tried that and other fixes/tweaks but for some reason that silly Error 4 keep poping up. Thanks again for trying to help me out Doubleyou. For now I just continue with doing a full STEP installation and hope this issue magically disappear at some point -
Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm doing it exactly this way :) Just grasping for straws here with some questions: 1. Since I dont get the error message when I install SKSE as explained in SKSE readme, will it do any harm if I extract all script files from SKSE right into skyrim game folders as explained in SKSE readme and at the same time run SKSE in MO installed and in install order as explained in STEP guide? 2. My friend is not running STEP but using around 200 mods and many of the STEP mods, and he install SKSE the way it is explained on SKSE homepage (putting all files right into skyrim and data folder) and he have never had any problems with SkyUi or SKSE. I'm just very curious why STEP have SKSE installed in Mod organizer and in the install order order when everyone else that dont use STEP either extract files right into skyrim+data folders or use SKSE intsaller? -

Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi again and sry for waking up this nightmare Since I did not manage to solve this issue I started STEP over again. Installed a new Mod organizer, deleted all ini files in user in windows and installed skyrim in another location. Have used 4-5 hours now to finish section 2.E. Interface in the STEP guide. But to my big shock I getting this fuc&%¤#"%¤/&¤# SkyUI error code 4 again: Your papyrus ini settings are invalid. what the hell is going on? The reason I started over again was that I had some issues with Skyfalls and Main Menu Spinning Emblem so I thought that maybe it was related to not having SKSE installed through MO and in the install order. Im about to give this up, I'm following all instructions in STEP guide, double checking everything but Im getting errors like this for no know reason. Would really appreciate some more help here. -

Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No that did not help. My version of SKSE is the latest, I have latest MO, latest game version, latest SkyUI. As said everything seem to work great when I dont install SKSE as a mod in MO, so SKSE and SkyUI works, its only when I try to put SKSE into load order in MO this error message is showing up. Anyway, I dont seem to get any progress here and since the only solution I have found is to take SKSE out of load order in MO, can someone confirm if it will be any problems running STEP without having SKSE installed through MO and in the install order? -
Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I downloaded all fresh before I started, using SKSE 1.07.01 but I shall look into it. The error message is the same all the time, error 4 with info that papyrus ini settings is invalid, but Im open for anything here. Think I downloaded a new version and tried earlier both SKSE and SkyUI but what the hell, lets try again You probably get a loot of questions and comments that is pretty silly and not very well thought through, but I dont make posts for fun and try to look into things before i post. I have spent more than 6-7 hours trying to solve this, I have read many threads about error message 4 and problems related to SkyUI and SKSE, and tried all the fixes I could find. Im not a programmer or computer master mind but Im very dedicated and thorough when modding, making backup often and keeping track of things I do in excel, sorting out info and organizing things so don't worry, what I write here is correct, even if it make no sense -
Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks for your reply Ok thank you, thats good to know. I'm sorry if the name is thread is bad or misleading, I tried to be concrete on the subject but my English is not that good. I only say that I for some strange reason have a issue getting error message with having SKSE in the install order in left panel in MO, and when I removed it from the install order in MO I dont get that error message anymore. That's the funny thing, there is no changes done in papyrus settings or any other ini files in game folders or in MO, only those that is mentioned in post 1.D.1 and 1.D.2 in the STEP guide is implemented and some from mods like Skyrim flora overhaul for grass. I tried to find out what was wrong with backtracking each step in the STEP guide and deleting all ini files both in my games folder and in mod organizer with no effect. I only have STEP mods from STEP guide 2.2.9 installed and all installed in the order from the guide. No extra tweaks is done in mods or in Skyrim files. Non of the fixes from forum, mod creator or from anywhere related to deleting ini files, reinstalling, downloading again, setting in ini settings had any effect at all. Im not very knowledgeable in this area and I try to learn more but this seem to be an issue with papyrus settings, and I have tried multiple times with only SKSE and SkyUI enabled in left panel of MO but I still get the error message. And everything should be clean and look ok but I have probably done something wrong and is just trying to figure out what and how to fix it, and for that I'm asking for some guidance if possible. I totally understand that and I try to follow it, but in this case if I put SKSE into install order in MO, even with only SKSE and SkyUI enabled I get the error message. The only way I have found to stop the error message from coming is to take SKSE out of MO install order, but I dont like to do that since you guys have done such an amazing work setting up this guide and making mods work well and stable together. I would love some help if possible since this is bothering me and Im afraid it will cause problems later having SKSE not in install order in MO. If it is ok to run with not having SKSE in the install order after Cleaned update ESM please tell me so I can continue with installing STEP Thanks again guys for creating this awesome guide -

Papyrus ini settings invalid after installing SkyUI following STEP
xxx78 replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
A little update. After hours of different testing I finally seem to have gotten some progress. I have done many different things included testing with only a few basic mods, also tested SKSE and SkyUI as the only mods in MO but the error still came. The last test I did was to remove SKSE from MO install order and installed it with exe installer instead and added skse.ini manually into skyrim data folder, and now I dont get any error and everything seem to work as it shall. I have no idea why this seem to work or why it happened in the first place but now I can start the game 20 times with no errors. So I wonder how important is it to have SKSE in the install order in MO, or if it is ok to install SKSE outside MO in a STEP perspective?
