guide or sth like that: https://perfectworlds.wordpress.com/2011/12/22/a-quick-and-basic-elder-scrolls-skyrim-install-and-optimise-guide-for-older-pcs/ +fullproc setting didn't increase the cpu usage by any bit, as well as increasing ugrids to 7. although i did get a game freeze using exterior cell buffer 64. I'll increase it again and try it another time using skse this time.
  2. I've used the windows performance supervisor tool (probably didn't translate it correctly.) at least the values are identical. not even 30% at MOST through a whole game session of skyrim with fights, long distance travelling, from sun rise to sun set. Tell me, what am I doing wrong, no, tell me, WHY IS SKYRIM SO CHEAP ON MY CPU? o_O
  3. I've been using Skyrim Performance Monitor v2.27... https://www.pic-upload.de/view-14194019/Screenshot_2.jpg.html
  4. Well, I have a cpu usage of about 8% (i7-2600k Turbo @4.4GHz) with peaks when loading a game up to 23% and down to 2 % whilst playing... is that normal? o_O I thought skyrim would be at least somewhat cpu-intensive. iirc my VRAM is always full, and my graphic cards don't get hotter than 65°C... it's just weird. I'ld expect a lot more gpu load, cpu usage and sorts when playing skyrim.... is something wrong with my setup?
  5. It is far from impossible for Beth to fix it. It's just a matter of priority settings.
  6. Hmm... so this trick is useless for my setup? :( well I found this nice article with really much infos in it. https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Steam it may already be known around here, but I found the tips quite interesting! :)
  7. Sorry, I forgot to mention that I didn't want you to think about what he said exactly, but about the idea to make a video like this :) also those vids where uploaded before Skyrim was released (two days before) so of course the content of the video is pretty dubious ;-) I found a rather interesting thread: https://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699856 the last post says: What do you think of that?I MOVED Skyrim on to my SSD (SteamMover) which has windows on it, but my steam client is still on my HDD. So if I install Steam onto my SSD and move all the other games onto my HDD, this would probably have the same effect as the guy described in his post, wouldn't it?
  8. hey guys what do you think of these vids? [video=youtube] [video=youtube]
  9. Just keep the infos coming! maybe you'll have luck and find something that helps a lot without too much sacrifice :)
  10. i have the +fullproc tweak applied months ago. so far i can't tell if it runs more smooth or not, since game crashes are usually caused by too high ugrids or draw distances (tweaking with full step 2.1.1b is quite "risky" -.-)
  11. It always depends how far you move your camera from your char whilst playing in 3rd person. the further away, the more clipping is in the background. the closer of course, the more the clipping moves towards your char... i usually only move to 3rd person when i'm travelling to some location. everything else is in first person, and clipping there is a bigger problem, as you might notice when trying out. Glad you found your "fix" :-)
  12. well for testing sakes: I started a new game and got bow and arrows from my guide in helgen keep. since then I cannot have less than 8 iron arrows, unless I drop them...
  13. so how can I divide all the tasks of skyrim on to my i7-2600k with 4 cores and 8 threads? is it the same settings?
  14. ehm... and why should that be a vanilla feature??? o_O
  15. I'm ALWAYS loading a 100% clean save (TOTAL vanilla start until in whiterun and then fasttravelled to several locations for making test saves) that has been saved with ugrids=5. no corruption there, fri ;-) EDIT: and another bug... i can shoot limitlessly iron arrows. every time i put an arrow on my string another arrow gets added to my quiver... well if that ain't cheat or bug I don't know.... maybe arrow pickup fix or sth like that?
  16. Ah well, my padawan, I have to tell you that the power of z-fighting-fighting can be achieved in two ways... the easy way, and the hard way.You have to choose your path, your destiny. what I'm saying is that setting fNeardistance to anything bigger than 15 (standard value) will automatically increase "nearplaneclipping". This means, if your playing first person, and you move close to another object... it will disappear. If your playing third person, everything around your character is perfectly fine, but, if you run down e.g. stairs you'll see your character through the stairs, since they disappear, or at least some of them. What fNeardistance does, is steering the focus of the "highest precision buffer". the smaller the value, the better the close objects get separated, causing them to clip less. the higher the value, the better do distant objects get buffered, causing z-fighting to get less, but also cause near objects to "clip"(disappear, become transparent etc.). This is the same effect, if you disable collision via console (tcl) and run with your character towards the z-fighting. the z-fighting stops at some point, but the objects that where close to you as you started to run, cannot be seen anymore. (yes, this is a metaphor) fNearDistance has been thoroughly tested by hlvr(-n) and he says that the best ratio of z-fighting/clipping is found at about 25.
  17. checked it out, too. no CtD there.
  18. You're welcome :-) and thanks for the additional info, too!
  19. I am using a SSD for Windows and skyrim...
  20. Other question: is it possible to use Skyrim HD without overwriting SRO to keep the additional highres textures? or does that just look weird?
  21. I can provide those savegames if you want to: 1. Whiterun Dragonsreach (no world space); Castle near Whiterun Western watchtower (world space). 2. helgen Intro... fair enough. I can provide a save BEFORE character creation! 3. Intensive dungeon: Blackreach? seems to be the most enormous dungeon created... I can provide a save of that blackwater dungeon, too. 4. Blackreach, too, maybe? Lots of shadow (if using RCRN or RLwC) and lots of light sources. 5. Z-fighting intensive: Exiting helgen keep a bit up the mountain 4 pm, Stairs to Dragonsreach, Throat of the world (FUGLY!!! X_X) 6. Action intense: Solitude attacking every person on sight without killing anybody to create a ginormous mob. what do you think? saves can be created until sunday. No probs ;-) Although my skyrim isn't the most stable one unfortunately...
  22. from my previous "bug post" here a problem most likely with Optimizer Textures remained: what I could reproduce where the error on loading screens that the 3D-objects disappear if moved to a certain angle at a certain distance. I think this is primarily caused by Optimizer Textures recommended in STEP, since it didn't happen before I optimized the textures. Also they pop back up in no-time if switching angles but not always if reducing distance to the object. EDIT. so i got random CtDs when upping my uGrids to 7. I guess Step just doesn't support that, does it? ;-) Also, I'm going to try to replicate CtDs if I can using uGrids 5 o'course ""I've been experiencing a problem with Dynavision with uGridsToLoad set to 7. After exiting the game, the next time I go to relaunch it, it's a coin toss whether or not I receive an error and the game fails to load. Once this happens, I have to uninstall the mod to get Skyrim to launch again. Any one else experiencing this? "" I have similar problems, but only with loading games. Sometimes they do, sometimes skyrim hangs itself up... i dunno whether that has anything to do with dynavision though!
  23. I'll try it out. maybe it helps with z-fighting?
  24. There is a fishing mod in skyrim mods of the week by gamespot
  25. well, here's a comment from gopher on a different topic but it can be applied to Dynavision too of course He knows of the problem and probably does his best to figure out how to fix it/to get Beth to patch their scripting engine. ""I've been experiencing a problem with Dynavision with uGridsToLoad set to 7.
