  1. Yep, came back here, because I remembered you said something like that! There is also another bug with sli and water, if you didn't notice: Reflections on water shake/jump rapidly when moving from side to side. Only known fixes: a) disable sli b) enable 3D c) turn off water reflections for sky, objects, land and trees in skyrim game launcher (or skyrim.ini if you prefer it this way, note that if you only disable bUseWaterReflections you will still get reflections on water when playing, but none on the map plus the reflections look kinda weird.) There is a problem with c) though: the game looks shitty. Of course there is a tradeoff possible: the reflections of trees are the most noticeable nuisance. You can keep the other reflections on. You'll notice the jumping only when paying lots of attention to it.
  2. Another Problem which still persists: enabling Sli AND 3D or Sli aa disables Performance benefits from Sli totally! Enabling Sli only makes the Game disable HDR and other effects plus Bugs Water ripples which doesn't seem to be fixeable at all. I currently don't Know of any method to disable water Physics totally. The Game causes those Problems automatically when it detects that Sli 2-Card-Rendering is enabled! This has unfortunately nothing to do with 1.6 but with Skyrim since its Release!!! I post it here, because my recent testing showed that the always proclaimed workaround is 100%ly useless. The Game does not support dual-Rendering!
  3. hey guys, some of you might have noticed a black dotted line around most/all of the fiery light-sources including torches, campfires, bonfires and whatever else. it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/I9P2x.jpg I found out by testing that it is directly linked to the Antialiasing-setting in the Skyrim Game Launcher. Unless it changes anything else but antialiasing values this means that any antialiasing value above 4 will cause this artifact. This has been reported during beta-testing-phase and still it was in the official update, and still nobody seems to care about it Edit: This is only linked to the 1.6.89 patch, not to anything else (tested it). It persists with whatever mods you have installed.
  4. I would use this mod with a all-including version of automatic variants (music of the distant future, perhaps ^^)! It'ld be great to craft a shield that actually looks new and not like the steel shield that hundred-years-old-and-thousand-years-dead-draugr used in the last dungeon...
  5. The author seems to disagree: I'll definitely be throwing this on to test regardless. Â It's unfortunate that this mod breaks anything that relies on the actual city cells, but I think it works with STEP almost entirely. Â Assuming it gets to a stable state, it might be worth including and it's growing popularity will surely sway mod authors to make compatibility patches. That would be so awesome! I already tried the old open cities with the beta-patch and no problems. but it did cost me some fps, if outside of an city but with open gates, nevertheless what the author says.
  6. Intreresting! Thanks for sharing!
  7. sry, this is off-topic but this reminds me of a question: is there any limitation as how big the skyrim-folder can be that the game's software runs smoothly (no hardware limitations included in this scenario of course)? I'm not sure whether anyone tested it out (at some point vram will always hit it's limit I guess). I just want to know how reliable and stable the papyrus scripting and creation engine are if they are forced to process tons of files at the same moment (guess I'm actually asking for engine bottlenecks if I remember that term correctly). As far as I know Skyrim can only use up to 4 GB RAM but will most likely not do it most times, even if one throws a whole lot of things at it. But does that mean, that the scripts fail and the game crashes if the going gets tough, or the game will just slow down automatically causing lags or that sort of things? I will actually try to only include files in my skyrim folder that are used by my current playthrough, which might help game stability with e.g. higher uGrids-values. Using the new Skyrim Install thingy that might be a very good and clean option to achieve this! I had a dozen of bsa's in my data folder which were not activated by esps. Are they searched through by the engine anyways or does it ignore it completely? (oops, long off-topic...)
  8. Before you do anything else check whether you have any problems with clipping issues! If so, reduce your fov to 65. The z-fighting tweaks will greatly increase the clipping, which can result in Gameplay-Problems, characters or Objects to the sides of your screen don't appear or only Parts of them. Glad you have had a good Experience withthe tweaks. Keep watching this thread As Many New tricks will Be mentioned here before going into Public! Here with my iPhone AND German auto-correct, so sry for the capitalization everywhere...
  9. Argonian feet redone! I guess if there are any argonian-players you'll enjoy this mod a lot! https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19283 Only problem is, that all the footwear or other foot retextures will not be compatible with this mod. It is really new though, so some bugs might occur! I will watch the mod until those problems are sorted out.
  10. Thanks for the advice! I actually had essentials and avira installed but it killed my internet. i wouldn't even be able to load up firefox without that the process died halfway through the start. So disabling real-time-scanner for one of them would solve that problem?
  11. yeah i was thinking about it. but i am kind of overcautious when it comes to free firewall software. any specific suggestions as to which firewalls are doing their jobs better than the original windows firewall from win 7 home 64-bit?
  12. Hey guys, currently I'm having doubts whether or whether not I have a virus on my laptop. I'm therefore looking for a tool which monitors and protocolls (very important!) which program accesses at what speed at what time the internet and what priority it has. I've been looking on the internet but most of the tools I found where either for company networks (see what your employees do instead of working) or abandoned. I would need something compatible with win 7 64-bit and if possible freeware, since I'm a student with high living expenses and not much positive cash flow unfortunately. ;-) Anybody some suggestions?
  13. bioshock 1 is awesome!
  14. I dunno whether it's compatible with 1.6. If you experience crashes related to this mod either revert to your 1.5 setup or wait for an update.
  15. Pure Waters It's not a very new mod but a very well made one with loads of work and updates. As always it is up to the liking of the player as to which one of the two mods he/she prefers. In the case that no problems derive from switching water mods with your current saves I suggest you should try it out for yourself. It has improved a lot since the release version and as far as I can see he gets some support from other modders and still tries to expand on his work.
  16. I'll test it asap. end of the week i might be through with it. i won't test wrye though, since i'm currently not using it and have not made it through the setup yet.
  17. I'M LOVIN' IT!!! ÔoÔ
  18. - i like the total war series from rome to shogun II a lot. - i more or less grew up playing age of empires (yep, not that old yet xD). - i like playing assassin's creed but single player and xbox only. i never had the internet connection/bandwidth to do multiplayer unfortunately and of course money is an issue there. - i love the LOTR-based games in general but imho they tend to become worse than better. - spellforce is a game i've finished once in total (I and II plus expansions) and i liked it a lot. - empire earth gave me some good times, too. - Red Dead Redemption is the best cowboy-based game imo. - I like soccer games for consoles like PES or FIFA. - and of course TES since morrowind are some of my favorite games. - plus various and lots of other interesting games, not all of them very well made but most of them fun (eg. Dante's Inferno) I'ld love to have had the time to play all the games i wanted but unfortunately i didn't finish a whole lot of the ones i bought over a half a year ago (like arkham city). maybe my kids won't have to spend their pocket money for video games for several years ;-D
  19. ok, being a bit more precise: Nvidia inpector Elder Scrolls Skyrim profile Texture filtering section texture filtering - negative LOD bias --- set to "Clamp" It's set here:
  20. What might help additionally is setting negative LOD bias to clamp in your Nvidia Inspector or CCC (if available there, dunno) you could actually try out positive LOD-biases, if you still encounter shimmering. and there is the (not very likely) alternative, that your graphic card is overheating or dying which produces shimmering artifacts on strongly processed(by graphic card) high-res textures.
  21. iHUD is updated but is bugged whilst mounted combat.
  22. I love the idea of combining this mod with eg. UFO and extreme difficulty enhancing mods. It seems as if you now could actually could play a rider-warlord-like character or a bandit chief like Jessy James causing chaos all over Skyrim or trying to eliminate thalmor presence there. I also have installed it and I'm going to test it asap.
  23. I have never ever managed to do a backup via steam. So manually is the only way for me.
  24. Yup, fNearDistance is the culprit along with your custom FOV-setting. If it's higher than 65 (game default afaik) you'll receive the same errors. Also in some spots see-through textures can occur on vanilla setup, too.
