CTD New Game, Open World Space, STEP 2.2.2
torminater replied to Jnipz's question in General Skyrim LE Support
@ Nshell: Have you compared your z-fighting tweaks with the "original" ones on the wiki? Do yours look better in game? I'll gladly try them out and update the guide if it should be that way (skipping the tree lod tweak though). -
Can you say for sure how to tweak these registry values?? I would try them out and give feedback! :-)

Various issues requesting assistance
torminater replied to Ezekiel33's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is not a resolution problem. somehow your skyrim flora overhaul is not correctly installed or you've messed around with your vanilla texture/meshes bsa files. No HiRes-Mod will fix this, I'm sorry, you have to go back to troubleshooting it... -
OK, a short update to this thread as it is still an issue: Brumbek said he will look into this! :) Also I found out, that after optimizing the vanilla textures with ddsopt the ice puddles look even worse and there is a horrendous texture seam around them!

This sounds really weird, I have no idea what's going on with your game. You sure nothings wrong with your drivers or hardware? -

You can use the spoiler tags for all this info. I've encountered similar issues. Maybe the Unofficial Dragonborn-Patch will be able to fix those papyrus errors. -
the value which increases the graphical appearance of shadows is amongst others fshadowbiasscale but it does not apply indoors. The ugly shadows your hair casts are by actor self shadowing and this can actually only be "fixed" by ENB. You can disable actorselfshadowing by raising I think fshadowbiasscale to about 1.65. This will cause shadows to move away from their objects during sunrise and sunset, though. If you want to try out shadow tweaks use the tweaks from INSS (Improved New Skyrim Shadows). Otherwise use an ENB or live with it.

so apparently this tweak causes issues for lots of people. I think it has something to do with engine limitations... Might there be a note added to the STEP guide or the troubleshooting guide on the wiki?

1) did you optimize those textures, reduced normals or anything like that? Are both esps active?2) what colors do you mean? 3) this is a bug some people have encountered so far using a certain audio driver/software/hardware. google for it and see whether there sb found a solution. -
it makes it look as if it had a bit more copper included in the metal...

DROPPED The Skyrim Distance Overhaul (by Grieche)

There's already a thread about this. Please use the search function before posting a new mod recommendation. -
Storm the Bastille! :D

It's a general stability issue for 32-bit programs. Can't really fix it without getting a 64-bit TESV.exe out on the market - which would be really awesome!

SKYRIMLE Dawnguard Radiant Quest Adjustment
torminater replied to IDzeroNo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, I like the idea, but I haven't downloaded or installed or tested it. I got rather annoyed that I had to kill yet another stupid vampire at the other side of the world and run all the way back. I actually got so annoyed that I reenabled fast travelling only for this matter - so this mod might help... a little. I would prefer a mod that allows the special quests besides the random quests, so for example you can get one special quest from each of the quest givers plus one or two random quests from each of them - or no random quest at all if you've already gotten a special quest from that quest giver. -
Yep take the ice wraith and toss the dragon priest stuff. I can't imagine how insanely high the bloom and contrast of that armor would be if using certain enbs...

Skyrim Beta 1.9!!!
torminater replied to torminater's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
OK I opted for beta to get my hands on the files and I confirm the following statement: there are no hints for future dlc. This either was part one of some bug fixing patches and the rest stays as it is - meaning no more dlcs or it was a interimspatch and the next one will be a dlc patch. Files changed: skyrim\installscript.vdf skyrim\TESV.exe skyrim\Data\Update.bsa skyrim\Data\Update.esm skyrim\Data\Skyrim - Misc.bsa skyrim\Data\Interface\Translate - English.txt skyrim\Data\Strings\Update_English.DLSTRINGS skyrim\Data\Strings\Update_English.ILSTRINGS skyrim\Data\Strings\Update_English.STRINGS -

Skyrim Beta 1.9!!!
torminater replied to torminater's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Temporarily handicapping oneself in a skill in order to raise one's overall level seems kind of odd. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding this. OK, trying to get this myself. I start with a skill level 15 at player level 1. I level my skill until it's 100 at player level 24(example). I then make it legendary, lose all my progress for that level (dunno how racial bonuses affect it though) but get back all the perks I spent on this skill. Now I can level the same skill from 15 at level 24 to 100 again (level 35???). Meanwhile I can use my perks as I seem fit or use them to pick new perks in the skill I've chosen to become legendary! Let's say I started as a two-handed axe wielding orc. At level 24 I finally get Volendrung which is a warhammer, but unfortunately I've already picked only the two-handed axe weapon perks! This way with a little circuit I can relevel my skill and use Volendrung in the meantim! :-) This is now vanilla gameplay - many people still think modders have created better systems, though, so feel free to use them. -
"Police, freeze! Put your hands where they can be seen!" xDI think he got it already, but thanks for the reminder (I was not 100%ly sure that this was actually written down anywhere here on the boards)

Skyrim Beta 1.9!!!
torminater replied to torminater's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Hey guys, keep your eyes wide open for any new dlc news which were so far always hidden in the beta update files!!! O_O! -
Thanks! Feel free to post a ATTK guide on our wiki! If I recall correctly you said you were going to provide a short basic guide for the thread starter anyways ;-)

This is not a glitch, it is intentionally. The mod doing this is Fuz Ro Dah. What it does it that it enables so called "silent dialogue" which you might overhear during the game because other people speak at the same time for subtitles. This way you still get what the others said even without actually hearing them.
