Right on the money here... if I recall right it didn't work for about two versions. I did a complete reinstall afterwards and thought the NCC had been overwritten. Apparently not. City names showed up in the new setup, so... yeah. I almost recommended noting this peculiarity of MO, but since it would only really apply to situations like mine, which shouldn't be many people, no need. Thanks for the assist. Anything on the second half of the question regarding the less glow optional?
-
Well, in the USN we call that... and pay attention here, cause this is technical... TROUBLESHOOTING. Sarcasm aside, no, I don't think there's a specific term for that... it's just good practice. OOC, why ask?

DROPPED TDN Vampire Armor Retexture (by Nightshade)
Shadriss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Vibrant and clean they are... hard to argue that. What I would argue is that most Vampires tend to think a great deal of themselves. In most versions of thier mythos, they are almost manic about personal appearance, which would include cleanliness. The obvious exceptions this this are the Nosferatu version, which are only vaguely recognizable as human anyhow and tend to go entirely the other direction. The near-human appearance types, though, tend to make themselves look as clean and presentable as possible, and on that note I'd say that the textures are in keeping with vampires. Unless, of course, TES Lore specifically contradicts this somewhere? -
I'll redownload and check again, but not a single time previous to this have I ever seen the city names listed... it just gave a bunch of checkboxes with "colorname" or gritty/vanilla, or whatnot. I'll check one more time to be sure I didn't mess something up somehow. EDIT: Verified as not having city names anywhere that I can see - just the options with pictures that, as I noted earlier, I can't associate with any given city because I haven't really paid that much attention to it. Restate my recommendation for a more in-depth recommendations section. As a add-on - the recommendations as they are show a referance to the less glow optional for the BCFs (Bain COnversion Files?), but no reference in the section prior to. Should this be being used?

Do whatever it is that Isoku just did in 1.04. WHich is moot, since it's now 1.06. Weapons will break now, so that should address the comments on that. Additionally, now altered to more accurately NOT give high powered stuff to low leveled mobs. Apparently, the difficulty curve got turned into a difficulty cliff, and he had to adjust it slightly. It's now merely a steep incline.

With regards to the Visible Windows mod recommendations... "STEP recommends the "Gritty" option for all windows and the "Default" for all color options but "Yellow Tint" for both Solitude and Whiterun." All well and good, but unless you have paid a great deal of attention to these in game (which, honestly, I haven't), you have no way of knowing which windows belong to which city, since the Installer doesn't make that clear in any fashion. Just pictures. Up close pictures of the windows. Not enough background elements for me to figure out which go with which. Is there any way we might be able to clarify this at all?

As I mentioned over on the RS Children thread, I've got this mixed in with that, and the two complement each other perfectly. I'm thinking Extended for RS, but this portion may be a Core candidate based on the only TWO (really, Bethesda? Really?) outfits for kids. That's an error they shouldn't have made to begin with, and this mod fixes it in a way that makes sense. Even if you don't use the adult version scale-downs, they still look perfectly in place, with nothing that just leaps off the screen saying "Hey! Look at me! I don't belong in Skyrim!"

DROPPED Skyrim - Enhanced Camera (by LogicDragon)
Shadriss replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Any further thoughts on this one after a few more days of testing, Manny? I've been playing with throwing this into the mix, but the known errors and the posts on the main page are making me just apprehensive enough to push it off. If it's still holding stable for you and you haven't seen any significant problems, then I may take the plunge. -
So if I understand you correctly, Irish, the only access to these bags is via MCM? That would be an instant killer for me, personally, for the fact that I'd have to go through two or three seperate menus just to get to them. If that's incorrect, please, elaborate further, but if I'm right, I'd just as soon hold onto Bandolier...

DROPPED TDN Vampire Armor Retexture (by Nightshade)
Shadriss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
So... back on topic... installed this last night just before heading into Dimhollow to fetch Serana, and the look on her (and the various *unfortunate* vampires I met on the way) is impressive... reminds me of Cabal's work on all the other armors. I haven't seen the EOTW stuffs, so I can't speak to how those fare in the game, but so far, these are a definate addition to my load list. -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Fallen Trees Mod (by Jurassic4LIFE)
Shadriss replied to DanielCoffey's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Saw this this morning on the Workshop site. Looking at the screens, it looks nice, but I'm not sure it's something I'd ever use. Maybe if I were a screen-archer or the like. But for my two cents, all this would do for me is add more items to be drawn during my trips through Skyrim, and that's not going to affect me significantly enough to feel a need for it. -
I put this in my load order not too long after this topic first appeared, and while (as noted) there is a slight japanamation look (mostly with the males), it's still one heck of an improvement over vanilla. Combined with Prince and the Pauper (for which a patch does exist), the clothing is even more impressive. If this does go into testing my initial feel is that it may fall just short of Core (due to the non-vanilla japanese look), but Extended would benefit from it I think.

Not a likely thing, but perhaps he pulled it prior to a new update? (We can hope)...

Guide? I thought the Readme WAS the guide, since there wasn't one included in the DL. That may explain a few things... EDIT: Request location of said Guide.

Looks like. I'll test it out and report here and to Isoku on the thread. Good to see he's on top of things... as usual. :) Verified. And lookin' gooooooood.
-
THanks for that... I'll work with it a little later. Although I should point out what you just said is kind of counter to what your read me said... at least, what *I* got out of it so far as which settings to mess with. Most epic understatement ever. Of all time. :) New question for you. Noticed that the ENB has a 'fishbowl' effect going on. I'm assuming that's intended, but it's a little strong for my tastes. Didn't see a setting for it, but with the horde of them I'm seeing, I could have easilly missed it. Gotta map for me? :)

I've run into an issue with this mod. I'm not sure how, but it's preventing Hadvar from arriving in Helgen with the rest of the Imperials during the opening scene. This results, naturally, in his lines not being spoken. If that were the extent of the issue, I could live though it, but in addition the game freezes when I walk towards the block after the first execution. I've checked this using just the STEP lineup, and as far as I can tell, this mod is what is causing it. Using it on an old save doesn't seem to cause issues, but I'm not risking it at this point. Pity too, cause what this does makes a LOT of sence.

Suspected this might be the case... thanks for the confirmation. Again, something I suspected, but was unable to verify (likely due to the above...). Thanks to you both.

Thanks for pointing me at this one, Aiyen... I did have one question, though (duplicated from my original question thread, so you can ignore that one now that I found this one... Eye Usage FTW). I use my 60" TV as my computer monitor, and my living room is just festooned with windows, which means I am in a room with a large amount of normal ambient light during day light hours. This has meant that the lower light levels in your preset are too dark to trully navigate aorund with. I messed with the settings you mentioned in the Readme on Nexus, but either I'm misunderstanding it, or the way the numbers work is counter-intuitive. I altered the interior min and max upwards by .15 each (min .300, max .345), and hit apply changes in the ENB menu. If anything, the room got darker. I tried some similar changes outside, altering both day and night min/max levels, and saw no real change. Advice?

Hadvar seems to have missed his mark...
Shadriss replied to Shadriss's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Quick Update - identified the mod at fault as Isoku's new Loot and Degradation. Not sure why it would cause this, but I've dropped him a line on Nexus. -
Always good to verify. Thanks for the input Irish. Aiyen, since I've got you in here anyhow, a quick question - I've been attempting to lighten up the ambience in the game. The way I have the house set up, unless it's full night in RL, I can barely play the game due to ambiant light. If I understand your readme on Nexus correctly, it's the MIN/MAX Night Day settings that need to get adjusted. What I'm curious about is if you have any recommended settings. At night, the ones you have are great, but I don't want to only be able to play after about 9 pm (as it currently stands...)

So I should disregard the ENBoost STEP Core recommendations about setting the autodetect on at the Video size blank?

I'm just full of issues lately... So, loaded up 2.2.9 (minus a few I didn't need/want and plus a number that I did, all of which I was running before the 2.2.9 upgrade) and did a Helgun run at the beginning of the game to test a new ENB setup. And the strangest thing happened... or rather didn't happen. Hadvar, noble Imperial Tutorial Guide through Helgen, didn't show up. At all. No voice, no subtitles, no nothing. Everything proceeded as normal (minus Hadvar), but on four seperate occassions (in a row), the game either froze completely or had me walking in place, unable to move. I have yet to get even into the tower with Ralof and Ulfric. I'll be doing some troubleshooting more tommorrow, but some things I've noticed after the 2.2.9 rebuild: 1. 24 less ESPs. This is most likely a good thing, as they were all merged into the Extended patch. Not likely the problem. 2. Bashed patch altered 86 records. This is down from roughly 160. I figure SOME of those are accounted for above, but not sure all are. So now my question becomes... where is Hadvar? Or rather, why would he suddenly not be following his scripting? And is this why the game keeps me from proceeding? I haven't loaded up my old save yet for comparrison, but... obviously, I've got something out of place here somehow.

So... Using the Helgen Run I'm seeing FPS anywhere between 29 to 55. Most of the time, it seems to stick in the mid-40s, and that's playable. Looks real nice as well. However, this test has also brought to light a whole new set of issues I have to work through (which aren't related to this question... so far as I know). I'll stick with this for now, as even in that short play time, I noticed things I hadn't before (It's DAWN in Helgen when the start hacking off heads? Wouldn't have known from the vanilla lighting...)

Intel Core i7-3370. I'm aware that not all i7's are created equally, and honestly I'm not really entirely certain where mine stands in that. I haven't worked on installing the ENB for testing yet, as I've been updating to the official 2.2.9 (with additions! YAY!), but in that process I did run across another question that I have, and that being the changes I need to make to ENBLocal.ini. I am ASSUMING (brace for impact) that I simply set the first setting in the Memory section (whose name escapes me at the moment) back to 'true', but should anything else be shifted? Availiable memory is still as listed in the OP (shockingly). EDIT: ANd this is why I shouldn't do things from memory. :) I meant the first two options under GLOBAL, not the first under Memory. 'Cause that would have been ignorant and dumb and stuffs. Yeah... uh huh...
