I don't know, but he's wrong. So that edit should be reverted. -

SR:LE + REGS + Requiem Question
Nozzer66 replied to Soariane's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Yes. The first time it pops up, it'll ask you if you want to extract this BSA. There will be a note on it asking if you want to see this popup again. If you don't then click it. A BSA is a particular archive. They can contain textures, meshes, Animations, Interface Elements in some form. If you need to 'hide' a file that's packed into a BSA, then unless you extract it, you can't. That's one reason. Another reason is that loose files take precedence over those in a BSA. In a nutshell, extracting them just gives a bit more flexibility over file control. -
Not a bad looking rig there. Like the case with the PSU cover. Cleans up what can be a bit of a messy looking area. I'd have started the Skyrim references at the letter 'A' though and called it Aela. :)

SR:LE + REGS + Requiem Question
Nozzer66 replied to Soariane's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Yes it'll run. It's basically the same as my previous setup though I had a 680. Just take it a bit easy on some of the texture mods and it should be fine. Use 1k options, etc. And don't expect 60 FPS everywhere. -
Yeah it is pretty linear but who cares when it looks forkin awesome, right? :)

I'd be interested. The weight slider being only for breast size has been giving me the screaming sh*ts for years. -

There's a fix now for 1.2 that fixes the lockpicking on Nexus, but apparently there's still an Alchemy issue... -
SKSE no longer connecting to Skyrim from MO
Nozzer66 replied to MartinMiggs's question in Mod Organizer Support
Using Windows 8 I guess? And don't even bother using a crack. 1) A lot of mods at Nexus wont work if you do and 2) You'll POSSIBLY get banned at Nexus if you're found to be doing it. Possibly other mod sites as well. The -forcesteamloader argument is often used in the MO executable for SKSE. You could at least try that. Open MO, go to executables and type that in the arguments field for SKSE as typed. -
Missing Armor Textures (SR:LE)

No worries. Been there and done that myself when I forgot to unpack the BSA's. -
Missing Armor Textures (SR:LE)
Nozzer66 replied to Anadriall's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
OK. First a question back. Did you extract all the BSA's as per the guide's suggestions? If so, then it would seem that there's likely a few textures ended up in the wrong place. If not, then go to the archives tab of MO. Make sure that the option to have MO manage archives is checked. Then look down the list in the right pane and make sure all of the options in that list are checked. Then restart and check things. Try that first and see if it works. -
First timer.... From a STEP Extended setup on.... how ?
Nozzer66 replied to STB_Caos's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Well, you'd have to play that a little by ear. It would depend on what you're adding and subtracting. SRLE provides a patch as well. That may work better. If you feel confident enough, you may choose not to use either and make your own conflict fix patch, as well. But to answer your query... The Extended patch wont cause any damage or issue. It's just more a question, will it solve every issue? The answer there is 'probably not' so like I say above, you may either have to do some of your own conflict resolution or see if the provided SRLE patch works better. :) Hope that all helps. :) -
STEP: Core / Expanded - where do they start/end?
Nozzer66 replied to phalen's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Pretty much right. About the only things that go after the bashed Patch are anything made by dynamic patchers. FNIS, Dual Sheath Redux, ASIS etc. :) -
Request - Two things the mod manager really needs (mostly solved)
Nozzer66 replied to Mathalor's question in Mod Organizer Support
It has a search option. Use the 'namefilter' boxes down at the bottom of the panes. It also has the option to see what esp/esm came from where. Mouse over the esp/esm in the right pane and look at 'Origin'. Or am I misunderstanding? -
STEP: Core / Expanded - where do they start/end?
Nozzer66 replied to phalen's question in General Skyrim LE Support
In a nutshell. Left pane is Mod Order. Right pane is Load Order. Mod Order is exactly what it says it is. That is the order you set your mods to be in. Now there's reasons why you might want one mod to be below another mod in that list, or above. The main take home point to remember is though... The higher on the Mod list in the left pane, the more likely other files might overwrite some of the original mods files. This is important in case where you may have two mods that both provide a texture for an object. Let's say a Heal Potion texture. Mod A provides textures for every potion and booze bottle in the game, where as Mod B is a specialized, ULTRA High Definition texture for the Heal Pots alone. If you put Mod B above Mod A in the left pane, then when the mods are loaded, the game will load Mod B's ULTRA High Def texture for the heal pots. It will ten load Mod A's less good textures and thus over write Mod B's ULTRA High Def texture. There's a little more to it than that, cause of the ability to hide files in MO and so, but that's the basics. The right pane is all the mods's ESM and ESP files. These files control various things in the game. Some you need to have installed and loaded before or after others because of dependencies. XYZ.esp may need data that's contained in ABC.esp. So for that to work, ABC.esp needs to load before XYZ.esp. Bad things will happen if they don't. You could crash, or you might find something doesn't work, etc etc. And that's where LOOT comes in. LOOT is a way of determining how to load those esm and esp files for the optimal effect. Once again, there's more to it than that, but that's a nutshell. As phazer said, if you've installed everything that was on the guide, then you have extended. What he also said and I don't think you're quite catching, Is that Extended contains Core. So you actually DO HAVE both. So in you case, only install the Extended Patch cause Extended trumps Core in this case. The good thing about MO is it allows you to have separate profiles. Thus, you can have 3 different profile one set up as a Mage type play through with lots of magic altering mods, etc, one as more of a hack and slash sword and board type warrior with combat, armour weapons mods etc, and maybe one as a stealthy Assassin/Thief Archer type. You can select which profile you wish to play via MO, then go off and have your fun. These 3 profiles can have different load lists. Give a few of the wiki pages a bit of a read and I'm sure you'll get the hang. :) -

The SKSE folder should be in the Skyrim\Data folder, not the main Skyrim folder. The original comment was fine as it is. -
First timer.... From a STEP Extended setup on.... how ?
Nozzer66 replied to STB_Caos's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Why not just make a new SRLE profile in MO by copying the STEP Extended one. Then all you'd need to do is add and subtract from STEP Extended to SRLE (or your personal choices) and maybe change a few options. Have your cake and eat it that way. If you did do that then yes you'd remove the STEP Extended patch and use the SRLE Conflict Res patch, either the premade one Neo links to, or by following Neo's guide for making your own. That's assuming your hybrid setup followed SRLE pretty much fully. If not then you may need to do some of your own conflict resolutions. *That's pretty much what I do. I'm essentially SRLE plus a few things like Perma, Ogmund's Tomb etc* ENB wise SRLE does recommend one, but you could probably get away with just using ENBoost for the memory stuff. I wouldn't try and play modded Skyrim without that. -

That's the idea behind the delay DLC mod. You wont get the notifications till you are close to the area they start in. -
Broken textures/effects, partial invisible npc's
Nozzer66 replied to Moloch's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Bloody hell that's a new one... Lets start with the possible easy one. In MO, have a look at the Archives tab in the right pane and check to see everything is there is either grayed out and ticked, or if not and it's unticked, ensure you tick it. Also tick the box that says 'Have MO manage Archives" Run it again and see what happens. -

Neo suggests BOSS and it works perfectly fine. I still give BOSS a run every so often just to see what differs from my basically LOOTified load order and get an idea of possible LOOT rules, etc. With my LOOTified load order it works fine too. I don't really have an opinion either way as to what's better etc. I'm having no real issues with LOOT so I use it. I would say that if you're new to modding and trying Neo's guide, follow his suggestions and use BOSS and BUM. BOSS and BUM are a bit more intuitive and easier to follow for someone who's new to it all. After you've been at it for a while you'll realize neither of them do things 100% perfect all the time. and you'll learn to check what they suggest. Having said that though, both of them get it right lots more often than they get things wrong. -

There's a few ways to go. 1) Grab the mod manually, crack it open using your extractor of choice and move the required files around manually in Windows Explorer. When you have them where you want them, archive it and throw that archive into MO's downloads folder. Then just install it as per usual. 2) Do a bit of choppin and changin in MO, like it seems some do. :) Hide files and pull the wanted replacement files into one directory. 3) Do multiple install runs with the mod. The first time, choose the base data directory and just install that. Then double click to install again, this time select the needed options directory as the data directory and merge it with what you did before. 4) Or what danielle's done above and install all the options separately. I do that one with the aMidianBorn mods. I've tried all of them and they all work. -
