bug STEP v2.10.0 Official Bug Reports
werewulfking replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Is it considered a bug that superior lore friendly hair is completely overwritten or did I do something weird in my loadorder? WSCO contains the same two files as it and comes after it. -
GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
werewulfking replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
No I didn't install it manually will check again if it works after I do it like that. But as it is a mod that uses DLC mod folders I installed it manually for the most part. Edit: And I didn't realize that you had already posted the mistake. Should have read mor carefully and not only skimmed over the thread. And yeah apparently something in NMM is broken. Thanks for the help. -
GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
werewulfking replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
Just an important notice. If you have the GotY Edition you can't use "All NPC Scabbards" as the mod for some reason removes all DLC. I discovered that just this week :(. It really is a strange interaction. -
He even recommends the mod in the Description so they work together.
-
So in the Installer (which is like the best thing since sliced bread by the way) on a certain step which tells me: Select this option if you want to install the STEP:Extended Mod Compilation. The STEP:Core Compilation mods are ***NOT*** included, so users will need to select both compilation options to get all the mods listed for both compilations. I can't select both compilation options at the same time so I would have to install the mod two times? Is there a special reason not to allow both selections in one install run? Edit: But on a second install with the core option selected there were no files that weren't already installed so maybe just wrong description?

But their Seasonpass at 60 Euro already shows how much money they want to get out of this Game. I am really disappointed that so many features I would have liked to see are not in the Game. Like story mode and the space battles with a better optimized Fighter movement would have been nice. Especially as the Graphics are quite good it would have been awesome.

I thought maybe the witcher sword was affected by the epic weapon mod or something but if thats normal I just have to fight through it. Well thanks for the info. And happy modiing to you
-
But that was expected. At least to me it seems normal to fix the biggest bugs of the new expansion very soon. Of course much more work for the mod-authors if they want to keep their mods up to date.
-
So I used your Guide as I really liked your choices for most of the different mods. And after a few difficulties it worked like a charm, but I still have two issues. Ingame it says that I have installed the ReShade programm but it doesn't change to unistall Sweet FX in the tool you recommend. And I haven't played on Deathmarch before but is it normal that I do no Damage to the Enemies in the first fight? Like a sword-hit damages them for 0.4 Healthpoints or less. While they of course hit me for 1000. Maybe thats normal but I found the first fight very aggravating.

help figuring out videomemorysize for enb
werewulfking replied to Scythiss's question in General Skyrim LE Support
As is explained in the guide: To find Dedicated Video Memory and Total Available Graphics Memory in Windows 10: Right-click the Desktop and click [Display Settings]. In Display, click the [Advanced display settings] link. In Advanced Display Settings, click the [Display Adapter Properties] link. In the new window that opens, make sure the [Adapter] tab is the current tab. Under Adapter Information, Dedicated Video Memory and Total Available Graphics Memory are listed. And then you substract 350 mb from the value that you find under total available graphics memory. I have 8GB Ram and 2 GB Graphics Memory and I find the value 6083MB under Total available graphics memory. -
comparing two possible laptops to play STEP-enhanced Skyrim
werewulfking replied to iarwain's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
yeah i have no personal experience with those gpu's to compare it to but honestly I don't expect any of these graphiccards to work with any graphic enhancements. but 4200m is still a significant step down and you most likely won't be able to play skyrim at all. -
comparing two possible laptops to play STEP-enhanced Skyrim
werewulfking replied to iarwain's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Unfortunately with laptop graphicscards it is not as easy to tell how good or bad they are as there are sometimes three or four different versions of the same card in circulation so that even more detailed specks would be necessary to access the situation completly. Because it could be that both laptops have the same graphics core but a german site I found to be quite correct would sort the 630M a bit higher in general. Unfortunately both are not really fit for skyrim with any kind of mods. even vanilla is only useable at low resolutions and with low settings. -
As you are apparently a MO user you can ignore this. The notice is only for "Wyre Bash Users" who use it to manage the mods. You will have installed everything necessary with MO and then just create the FNIS patch as per instructions.

Delidding is the process of removing the heatspreader of the cpu and apllying new thermal-paste it's like the most dangerous thing you can do your cpu as you will pry appart the manufactured cpu. And overclocking can easily be done without delidding is only really for the most enthusiastic overclockers. Even mist guys who watercool their whole pc don't do it. And overclocking is indeed motherboard dependant and you have to really look at what is already written for the motherboard online to get the best results. But overclocking just a bit is often fairly easy. Look on overclock.net for your motherboard. most often there are guides already there.

Can a single GTX 770 run S.T.E.P. Extended smoothly?
werewulfking replied to Toosdey's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I am running STEP extended with a few more mods and with sometimes higher quality options on a 770 overclocked. And yes I think it would help and I honestly think it is very easy. And no its not always very smooth. I think around some waterfalls exist some problems but i also haven't really played recently to give a more certain opinion. But even when there are problems it is not gamecrashing just short lag spikes which are not that problematic for me. But honestly I am playing it more for the visuals than buttery smooth gaming at 60fps constantly. -
pack Perkus Maximus (PerMa - PaMa) Pack
werewulfking replied to phazer11's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I always run Skyproc unified Manager which is a seperate .jar file I think which supposedly does it better than doing it yourself. But I am not very experienced just read a recommendation somewhere. -
Honestly athough overclocking can be dangerous it really is implemented very well in the newest genearations of motherboards and graphic cards so that almost nothing can go wrong unless you have a severe problem elsewhere. The overclocking tools for graphics cards like mSI afterburner only aloow sensible settings and if you want to exceed that only then you are entering dangerous territory. And every cpu/motherboard shuts down and even doesn't let you start with stupid settings. But yeah good cooling is always a necessity otherwise again the cpu will shut down. I for example have a huge two fan tower cooler for my cpu and only overclocked it to 4 GHZ but I also run boinc on this machine which is much more stressfull than any game can be. I have the previous version of the Dark Rock Pro

What other games are you playing?

Paid mods are now available on the workshop
werewulfking replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Banter Inn
honestly kryptopyr I am a Civ Fan too and for me the biggest problem was that the new game was really, really similar to CIV V and just not similar enough to the spirit of the game it kinda tried to emulate Alpha Centauri. I haven't played it because it just was too expensive for something that was so similar to a game I already owned. So I only base what I know of the few reviews that I read when it came out. -

werewulfking replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Banter Inn
Yeah I could have looked that up myself and now that I did it can even go down to 1% if I paid via normal debit-card or money thats already on paypal. Or really it can't as the recipient would have to pay the fee if I do it via nexus wouldn't they? So no really small fee for them or do all countries have the same conditions as in that it doesn't matter whether I am in Germany or USA when I inspect the fee between those two countries? -

werewulfking replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Banter Inn
Yeah just set up a paypal account and wanted to start thinking about which mods I would like to donate to but if it really is a bigger chunk for paypal then I would have to restrict it even more. -

I just read the EULA of the creation kit with regards to the new material somebody can produce. It seems like the exact same case as with the Facebook license for pictures you upload there. But honestly in both cases it is very debatable if the companies have the right to demand such big and all encompassing licenses. At least I think so and here in Germany the Facebook agreement was already challenged by consumerprotection agencies. Whats your opinion?
