  16. Discussion topic: STEP Skyrim LE Patches by The STEP Team Mods that are required for the Patches are marked on the Guide by a GREEN indicator at the beginning of the mod's listing. Included Tweaks The following tweaks are included in the STEP CR Patch: Timescale is set to 15 (default 20) Fast travel speed adjusted to match walking speed 40% faster arrow speed vs vanilla for more realistic speeds 50% chance of recovering arrows from corpses (default 33%) NPC greeting distance reduced to reduce random greets from every NPC passed Crime detection distance reduced to ~1/2 cell distance for more realistic detection distance Bump wait times for NPCs to move out of the way have been reduced (default 3.0/1.0, reduced to 0.5/0.5) Bump wait distances have been increased to help those NPC get out of the way (default 75/150, increased 150/250) NPC max-dodge-chance reduced to prevent uncanny ability of enemies dodging projectiles (default 100%, reduced to 66%) Incorporated Mods The mods below have either been 1) incorporated into the STEP CR Patch (permissions allowed for this) and are indicated as such, or 2) the edits from the mod were already created from scratch for the Patch. This means the mods listed below will never need to be installed for the STEP Skyrim LE Guide: Battle Cry Fix (incorporated; thanks NTense!) Don't Talk With Your Mouth Full (incorporated; thanks Whitefang37!) Move it Dammit - for Skyrim Special Edition No NPC Greetings (Special Edition) Leveled Lists The STEP CR Patch now includes a merged leveled-list for the Guide. This merged leveled list would have been similar to what was being provided by WB. Our merges, however, are addressed by hand and each conflicted is checked to ensure only the correct and desired forwards are made vs WB's default output, which is full of issues. What this means is users get a far cleaner (and proper) merge of the Guide's leveled lists vs what can be provided by a tool.

  18. That's a very specific setup that I'm not familiar with so without actually doing it myself, I can't offer you much advice. Footprints is planned, but it needs to be tested to see if it works with the animations we have. There was also an issue of the decal transparency not working with some lighting, so users end up with visible squares. Both these things need to be tested and I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.
  19. This issue has been reported to the author: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11052/?tab=bugs
  20. Since STEP caters to the ol' mouse and keyboard, I've just added a notice for these users to skip the mod. You should be able to safely remove it... ...save and exit, remove mod, run game, click okay to warning about missing plugin, save again, and continue playing.
  21. You can remove it.
  22. The controls are listed on the mod's Nexus page.
  23. Well, CTD could be a multitude of things so I think that is why wojsku mentioned this testing method. If you're not missing any masters (which is usually the cause of this), then I would start looking at the SKSE plugins.
  24. Yep, that sounds normal. It all depends on the ENB used and/or the settings enabled. Screen resolution will also be a factor on performance. 1080 is a lot easier to render than 4K.
  25. The only controversy over the years has mainly been the author's personality rubbing some people the wrong way, but we've never had issue with the author. He's not a native English speaker so STEP actually helped to revise his, early, LE Nexus page. He's a pretty cool guy from our prospective. We hold our community to a bit higher standard here, which tends to cut out all the drama that happens elsewhere in the modding community. ICAIO has always worked for the STEP Guide because the mod provides a large and consistent overhaul to NPC AI. It's a matter of opinion, but it's also one of the best overhauls available. There are other mods that add a lot of NPCs but few that aim to expand upon vanilla NPCs and none (that I'm aware) to the extent that ICAIO does. It truly makes the NPCs feel more lively. The options being in a spell or book is actually the "old school" way of configuring mods before MCM came along so it's nothing out of the ordinary...except to maybe new users to the scene. MCM is easy enough to do, though the author hasn't released an update in a long time so I doubt we'll ever get MCM. It's true that ICAIO conflicts with a lot of other mods, but those are mainly mods that are extensively changing content away from vanilla (such as city and dialogue overhauls). From an author standpoint, it's actually not that hard to make mods compatible with ICAIO, namely just working around the content it adds is all that is needed. However, ICAIO arrived on the modding scene well after some of these large overhaul mods did. Therefore, authors would nearly have to start from the ground up to make their mods compatible. In fact, that is exactly what the SE version of ETaC has done, and I think JK had a lite version at one point that was compatible. But starting over is such a large task than most authors wouldn't care to do it, and I don't blame them for that.
