Well, the problem is members are now posting from both using the memory patch and from using SSME and not clarifying what they're using to test. There are several posts in a row that you have no idea which they're talking about because some are using one over the other due to one not working for them when the other did...confusing. Can a Mod please split the SSME posts out of this thread do it stays on topic. I'm getting confused on what ppl are taking about. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Basically, 95% are reporting this fixed all issues. 4% are still reporting an occasional issue but much improved. 1% are reporting it did nothing. Of that 5%, it's most likely that most issues are resulting from mod incompatibilities from what we can tell. Nearly all posting with simple or STEP mod lists are helping to erect the statues. Woot! My tax return was accepted! One step closer to my build! :D Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

I never had any issues Alt+tabbing with Skyrim either unless I did it a lot in a short amount of time ( 5+ times within a few minutes ) then and only then would Skyrim sometimes CTD when doing so. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Thanks. That's a good example of a helpful post. It includes Yuser's experience as well as helpful troubleshooting info. @yuser, Could you post the error message the next time it happens? Thanks. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
The author says he's done sine tweaking if the weathers which is provided via a ESP file and claims this ENB will likely not look good without his weathers since it's designed around it. One issue I noticed in the video was it was raining but there were no rain ripples on the water in the background. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk. -
@EssArrBee and Aiyen, I'm posting this out in the open so all can see (read). There is a difference between just mocking and trying to be helpful and obtaining the proper testing information from a user (MG). Yes, Z and MG got a bit out of hand for a couple posts; however, I seen and understood what Z was doing. MG had yet to try basic troubleshooting for this thread and patch so we could determine if the issue was this mod, a mod list, hardware, etc. And still has yet to do so in this thread...only claiming to have done so in other threads. @All Reliable testing information is needed to produce reliable results. If the memory fixes aren't working for you then you need to go into troubleshooting mode to figure out where the issue is. This will be helpful information. Just posting that it's not working without troubleshooting why it's not isn't going to get anyone very far and is of very little help. This applies to all members posting here. If you have problems then provide some troubleshooting info with your post and a minidump as requested or you're not being of any help. Thanks to all and a personal apology to MG if any of my posts were offensive. Please don't respond to this post. PM me if you feel you need to respond. Thanks. Moving on. EDIT: This troubleshooting and minidump request should be added to the OP. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

I agree with Z and Nearox. MG, you need to eliminate all possibilities and go through the steps. It's troubleshooting 101. Start with vanilla and these fixes. Does it work or not? It should with vanilla. If it doesn't you have a bigger issue because vanilla can but rarely crashes in my experience. Test in normal gameplay, not bumping up the speed to something you'd never play with. Next test with STEP:Core. Then STEP:Extended. Then your personal mod setup. You'll at least figure out at what point the fixes stop working for you and it's at that point you need to focus on to find the issue. This way may take longer but it's the only sure way of finding the issue...which I'm assuming you want to do because you're reporting it here. If you don't care about finding the issue then we can stop now because it won't be helpful if you're unwilling to do so. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Have you tried using the version in the OP rather than what you have from several weeks ago? This inconsistency needs to be resolved before going forward. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
Yeah...been gone too long and I've mainly ignored this subforum because I couldn't run ENBs. That will change with my new system when I'm able to build it Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk. -

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB

Okay, finally got to watch the video on a computer and it's not as impressive as I first thought; however it still looks very interesting and I'll be watching how this develops. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk. -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50065/? I've only used my phone to look at the mod page, pictures and video but I have to say that this looks amazing from the video! Very realistic which is what I aim for. I'm just not sure how I would feel about having to use the author's modified weathers. This will be one of the first ENBs I try out when I get my system built. @Mothergoose I think the only reason some of us suggested either a hardware or mod setup issue is bc you seemed to be crashing often and at completely random times. 99% of the time this would be either a hardware issue or an issue from a mod with a global script that is crashing your game whenever it decides to run. Could be a mod that did one specific thing and when you run across that script...crash. Your issue just sounded too random to be caused by the memory patch. I do recommend trying Z's suggestions: vanilla, Core, etc Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Most of the 280x are at least $50 more expensive and you only get 3gb VRAM instead of the 4gb with nvidia. Honestly, I've not had any bad experiences with the brands that I've bought. Only exception was a ATi card I bought many moons ago. Been with nvidia since without issues. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

I was thinking Mothergoose's issues might be hardware related as well. I would do a full diagnostics of the hardware in the system. RAM, CPU, PSU...everything to rule out any hardware issues. Even one stick of RAM with one bad area on it could be causing issues. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

I know it's not practical but when I build my personal systems I also theme then. This one will be a black and gold theme. As for the video card, I don't plan on overclocking it. I just want to extra warranty for extra assurance. Also the EVGA and Gigabyte cards fit the theme of the build better. I do plan on going with a 4Gbps card as well. The lag/shutters could be due to frame rate flux. Enable frame rate limiter (42 fps) v-sync and triple buffering and try the test again. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.
-
Quite possible. I haven't messed with ugrids in over a year so changing the buffer might not be needed anymore and I'm just giving old advice. :p Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.

Those are good suggestions that would be great to use in most circumstances; however, there are a couple reasons for my choices. The CPU is really not being skipped out on. The unlocked i5 Haswell I've gone with will have more than enough power to run Skyrim, not to mention I can overclock it into the 4+ GHz range. You're basically paying an extra $100 for hyperthreading and slightly larger cache with the i7 models. This isn't worth it for me as Skyrim and the other games I mainly play don't even support hyperthreading. The increase you experienced most likely came from switching from AMD to Intel. Look as these benches...even the i5 processors beat out that FX-8350 at stock and those benches are a bit old. I have no issues with my choice of processor. I've chosen the EVGA mainly for two reasons: better cooling and longer warranty. With that said, I'm hoping to bump this up to a GTX 770 4GB for an extra $100 (probably Gigabyte). I actually like the look of the PNY cards and they'd match the theme of the build; however, the 1yr warranty will not cut it. The case I will not budge on unless it's an improvement for less. I've picked out an excellent case with plenty of room to grow for future use. As for a case with a power supply... lot a cases are bundled with half-cut, low quality PSUs which I'm not willing to risk my system on seeing how much money I'm dumping into this build. Thanks for the feedback!

That's funny. Fairly positive I used that link to the "definitive" guide as a reference when I first created this guide. :)

DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)
TechAngel85 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
BAIN is for WB and the FOMOD is for MO. Don't mix to two. If you're using WB then use the BAIN wizard. If you're using MO, then use the FOMOD which should be a one or two click install.
