To me, this becomes kinda like shooting yourself in the foot with a shotgun because you don't like your job. Usually you would try finding a new job first. Translating the parable goes something like this: if the things we have tried don't work, why should that suddenly make us believe in things that have no real reason to work at all. The recent resurgence of right-wing populism seems less about providing a new solution, and more about giving people an excuse to keep believing in a dream that has long since met the stonewall called reality. Trickle down economics is a fantasy. Running the government "like a business" is even more exploitable than the current system, but these fantasies keep selling, and the fact that we have system which needs agreement to move forward, means that the people touting these antiquated ideals have the power to hold everyone else back. In Norway we have people making tons of money on housing refugees. They become millionaires on our tax money, payed mostly by the middle class, by making a "business" out of solidarity. And what are their motivations when they run with a profit? Do you think they look into what they could do better for the people who have had their homes bombed to pieces, and are now stuffed into old hotel rooms while we process their lives in paper? Not for a second! They put all that profit in their pockets. Sure there might have been waste when we did this through our government, but at least that wasn't money heading into the already stuffed pockets of an economical class that gets tax cuts every year by our right-wing government who apparently are looking out for the interests of "common folk". Your two party system has stagnated though, and it's difficult to believe in that system, I understand that. I'm very glad I didn't have to make that choice the last time I went to the polls. It could not have been easy at all. This is partly a weakness with your election system too. CGP Grey did a pretty good video on the consequences of FPTP voting, if you're interested. That being said, you haven't really had left-wing politics for many, many years though. Even the Democratic Party is rather centrist in comparison with most left-wing parties in Europe. Especially the "New Democrat" movement, whose similar (more centre-oriented) ideas have failed miserably in Great Britain ("New Labour"). @EssArrBee: I would say Brexit was a result of a lot more factors, including a lot of misleading information from the pro-Brexit side. Take their big busses with the money they would make from exiting the Union, for example, which was straight up a lie. Not to mention how the other countries than England voted rather overwhelmingly to stay.

His family name used to be Drumpf. The change (albeit way before he was born) just epitomizes a part of his person so perfectly to me, that I won't even bother to explain the allusion. I wish you guys the best of luck for the next four years, but many people in my country are frightened, not to mention baffled by this election. This on both sides of a normally very divided aisle (do keep in mind that we have a much more left-oriented spectrum in general though). On a side note, our Foreign Minister, who has previously had a high-paying job in a prestige consulting firm, smirked about "the people" rebelling against "the elite". The irony was so blatantly apparent that I cringed.

Bad Texture? Report it here.
MonoAccipiter replied to EssArrBee's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Looks like a classic case of texture corruption. Either the texture path is set wrong in the mesh, which is unlikely as I can't remember having the problem, or the texture is corrupted. It should be from Weapon Retexture Project, so redownload that. -
Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback
MonoAccipiter replied to MonoAccipiter's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Just realized that due to some mistakes I made, the higher level guns from WOTNM are kinda underwhelming. Would recommend you shy away from the expensive ones until I make an update. -
I don't see anything wrong with that, so here's the thing to do: The bodies could be a problem with FCO. It has those. The alternative is getting New Vegas Redesigned 3. There are install instructions in the stickied comment on the Nexus page. There should also be a video linked there. The vault 34 armor problem can be solved by checking which mod supplies the file "armor\headgear\vaultsecurityhelmet\m\vaultsecurityhelmet_skinned.nif" under MO's Data tab. The arms seems to be a problem with Type 3. The only alternative would be switching to another body replacer.

My pack has been updated after I stopped maintaining F&L. Did you make sure to upgrade to CaliberX v5.0?

I can't get some iHud elements to show up
MonoAccipiter replied to Dennai's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
It's okay. Do they show up when configuring them? i.e. can you move the hud elements when in MCM? The reason I asked about the key is that IIRC "always on" means always visible while iHud is active. I might be wrong, but I don't have the time to check until tomorrow. Did you make sure to install it in the right order? Maybe try reinstalling oHud and UIO? -

MonoAccipiter replied to Dennai's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Pointless being rude. I've literally responded to hundreds of support topics on my free time, and I have no idea if you've tried activating them with the key. -

Hit the iHud activation key? -
This is a weather "problem". The textures that emit light (like windows at night) do so by being connected to certain weather regions. Same with the windows in your screenshot. ILO won't make them any brighter, or less bright. It's not actually light, it's emittance, meaning that they glow, but they won't cast light on anything else. In any case, try dropping RWLE to the bottom of your load order. Also, there's a brightness setting in-game. This is not a bug. It's how the mod is made. You can not like it – I don't like it – but there's no way to "fix" it. This is FNV's default appearance... Not sure how lighting problems would have anything to do with textures displayed at a distance. You're told not to deactivate it, because you shouldn't deactivate it. All of a sudden, 4GB not working
MonoAccipiter replied to Dennai's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Probably was a problem with .ini files in MO or something. Glad it works. -
All of a sudden, 4GB not working
MonoAccipiter replied to Dennai's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Have you tried adding this as an argument: "-exe FalloutNV.exe -laaexe .\FalloutNV4GB.exe -SteamAppId 22380"? Also, what folder is your game in? -
Can't see weather effects, RWLE problem
MonoAccipiter replied to danzo's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Load it after the Bashed Patch. Why do you have the TTW version of RWLE? Also, from the mod's description on FNVNexus: -
Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback
MonoAccipiter replied to MonoAccipiter's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
You don't need the CaliberX patch for my pack. I've integrated it into the main plugin to save a plugin slot. Don't use the Bozar, it is a nice model, but he never got around to adding weapon mod support to it. Millenia's retexture looks pretty good anyhow. -
Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback

I'm definitely working on more stuff. It just happens in kind of random bursts, depending on what I feel motivated for. There's also my casino overhaul which is about 80% done (every casino except the Ultra-Luxe has been overhauled with new NPCs, NPC behavior, table types, comps, some clutter, a less rewarding luck modifier, and new exchange rates). I just haven't felt too willing to revisit that for a while (partly because after a while you forget where you left off). I intend to continue changing the PN plugin as there still are some weapons that don't look all that nice. Especially the Gauss weapons don't look all too good. I might also revisit the way they're distributed, because I want more weapon variety on NCR and Legion troops (Forge Beyond actually helps with that a bit, since it adds the 10mm Carbine and 4.7mm Marksman Rifle to different NCR troops). Of course I also intend to add new weapons/equipment to this pack. This and all of Trentosaurus' weapons have been on my list for a while. I really should start looking for more armor, but for now there's the ones added by Project Nevada and Spice of Life. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking about in terms of the CaliberX patch, but I dropped you a reply on the Nexus if you meant a patch for JUE and CaliberX. -
Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback
MonoAccipiter replied to MonoAccipiter's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Added Forge Beyond to the pack. Only reason I haven't added it before was because I wanted to test it myself first. It might be the best weapon pack I've ever seen when all aspects are considered. The guns are very well made, balanced and implemented. The only thing I might do something about is make the Marksman Rifle use CaliberX's 4.7mm ammo. -
Intermittent crashes in Camp Searchlight
MonoAccipiter replied to generalmx's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
If you've properly narrowed it down to Roberts then I guess you have your solution. No idea why it would make you crash near a location, but sometimes the game does strange things. Try using dragbody's male retextures as an alternative maybe. -
Does anyone want a new, up to date Oblivion pack?
MonoAccipiter replied to mpjbay's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
This is some amazing advice right there. I would honestly have liked going back to Oblivion, but I just can't bear the thought of installing all those mods. -
There's no need to use NifSkope if you're just importing, though the nif-plugin for Max at least is liable to mess up some minor stuff. But, if I remember correctly, that's mostly skinning and such, which won't matter when you're not putting it back in the game anyhow. @Audley: The key difference is that Millenia isn't working on a game, but rather a specific model, so he can give it much more attention (and use more modern tools) than any of the devs probably could. Some meshes were probably rushed, but I've edited okay-looking ones too.

Might be noteworthy that Dota 2 has continued Warcraft III's custom game tradition since they moved to Source 2. Also, you probably know that Valve hired Icefrog to keep developing the game when they initially started on Dota 2. Don't know all that much about modding history except that today's experience, with mod managers and intuitive sites, is a far cry from when I started out with Oblivion. Installing FCOM was a nightmare, and it gave me about 15 minutes of gameplay... before I got distracted by something else. Can't imagine it would have been any simpler before that. There's a lot of mods for strategy games as well. Total War has a pretty extensive scene, with the modders giving CA's AI a pretty extensive overhaul with each new game. Darth Vader (who made the darthmods) eventually moved onto his own game, I think. I've also used mods for Dawn of War and Star Wars Empire at War (there was an Old Republic mod that let you play in the KotOR era). Probably all started with Warcraft III or some earlier RTS game, though. Good luck with your video!
