Grant - Thanks for that, lots of very nice info there I had one problem came up with trying to remove XBox And unfortunately ( as hinted in the errors ) its not any part of "Turn Windows Features on or off" Neither is Edge ( I was hoping it would be similar to Internet Explorer 11 which is part of Windows Features list ) The rest went fine though :). I already had OneDrive disabled, but the command line method to completely uninstall is nice to have if you are sure you will never need it ( I certainly am, it does nothing extra that a USB drive can do for me without anyone else looking through my underwear ( just an apt metaphor I feel ) ) If its okay I am going to quote your post on AFK Mods topic .. ? Credit for research and warning included.

ACCEPTED Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (by UPP Team)
alt3rn1ty replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
A note from Arthmoor This was in response to post #11 made by Kranazoli : Are S.T.E.P aware that the latest version (3.0.0) of Bring Out Your Dead ( BOYD ) does not have any NPC record edits in it anymore ?. This applies to both the vanilla AND Legendary versions so you likely need to update the documentation to reflect this. https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4276-relzwipz-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep/page-2&do=findComment&comment=157408 @ Kranazoli - Beware if you are going to be trying to help the team by testing the USLEEP beta, you would be forewarned that a new game start will probably be necessary when USLEEP gets released out of beta. When its uploaded to nexus it will have all fixes done that were found during the beta stage testing. Any fixes ( like a missing script at the moment ), will not be retroactive fixes between beta test plugins and release plugins. Hence the warning by UPP team that its a Beta if you use it. However if anyone goes from the old patches to upgrading to the release version of USLEEP when it goes live, will probably be able to just play on regardless. Its just the beta going forwards that could be problematic if you use it. And yes, USLEEP is a replacement plugin for the previous non legendary patches, so you dont need those installed when using this. The questions relating to the BOYD beta and STEP are best answered by the STEP team ( if any of them are actually trialling the BOYD beta that is ) -
Have a look at the Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide You will find a very useful walkthrough on how to turn Darnified UI into a BAIN, and notes on using the special fonts. I dont have any files anymore to make things easier ( long time since I had Oblivion installed ) Look at the images tab and go to page three of the images, image c1 is the first image of the tutorial on doing this BAIN, its also in the Installers Creation pdf you can download. You will also need the INI Tweaks for DarkUI DarN file. Also a little known feature of Wrye Bash : If you drag and drop an OMOD file onto Wrye Bash Installers tab window, it can extract an OMOD to a project ( folder ). Then double click it and a windows explorer window should open the folder, then you can start making a BAIN out of it. But you dont need that if you just grab the manual version file instead of the omod, as noted in the tutorial.

ACCEPTED Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (by UPP Team)
alt3rn1ty replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Some use masters also as an aid to getting users Load Order right, among the many things LOOT takes into account when calculating a load order it will also respect if a mod has masters and place them appropriately in the correct order as a priority consideration. Edit : For reference read Sorting Improvements as to everything LOOT takes into account ( If you read all of that, be sure to open the plugin graph in its own browser tab window so you see the full thing and can zoom in and around it, its quite an eye opener ) -

ACCEPTED Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (by UPP Team)
alt3rn1ty replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Are there lots of files which have the UPPs as dependancies ? Enough to warrant a dedicated tool, or would just using TES5Edit suffice if there are not so many ? https://ck.uesp.net/wiki/TES5Edit_Documentation#Adding_Master_Files_to_a_Plugin -
Discussion thread: Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch by Unofficial Patch Project Team Wiki Link This is now released and will be apart of STEP as of version 2.2.9.2. All info below is from the beta. Posting this on behalf of the UPP team who are not members here : First public notification of the USLEEP beta, details in the first post ( ordinarily beta details are in the second post, but this is the first version of USLEEP so there are no previous version details ( apart from the collective fixes from all other Unofficial Patches which are included in USLEEP, and linked at the end of the first post ) ) AFK Mods topichttps://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4276-relzwipz-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep/ BGS topic https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1538020-relz-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep-1/ Also announced in the existing USLEEP topic on Nexus forums https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3059159-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep/page-6&do=findComment&comment=29222744 And the existing topic on The Assimilation Lab https://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/topic/15080-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep/?do=findComment&comment=338076 And the existing topic on Dark Creations https://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/9628-unofficial-skyrim-legendary-edition-patch-usleep/#comment-270754 TES Alliance ( https://tesalliance.org/forums/ ) is down at the moment, but there is an existing topic .. Probably a few other places too, but that should be enough for anyones preference to give feedback if not here on this forum. I will give Arthmoor a heads up there is another topic here in case of any feedback from STEP members.

Version 3.1 With headphones on loud, I could just pick up a very slight noise in the silent file .. Redid the silent file with a newer version of Audacity, to eliminate the noise, and re-replaced all the music files with the new one. It wasn't anything you would ordinarily notice, but it bugged me anyway - Fixed :)

Thats a feature I have never used to be honest But I do know you should not be trying to change anything to do with masters in Wrye Bash unless you really know what you are doing, record formIDs will not be updated for master changes done through Wrye Bash, so such operations are best done via TES5Edit. Something similar has been mentioned recently in the currently most active topic on the official bethesda forums for Oblivion Mods .. https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1536340-wrye-bash-thread-105/page-3?do=findComment&comment=24345330 .. That topic is also where Utumno ( current main programmer ) is most active

The quoted text you have taken from the table in the Wrye Bash ReadMe, is titled something like Header Context Menu The screenshot you have given is of the right click Header Context Menu .. So the thing you are complaining about is actually in the readme, you just dont realise what it was called. Reference Ghosting plugins - This ability is practically useless for Skyrim at the moment. Its best used when you have lots of ( fully ) merged plugins, which are then deselected with a + in the plugins check box ( and usually have green text for the plugins name in the Mods tab ) But there are very few plugins in Skyrim which can actually be fully merged ( I had one which did the same job as one of the Bash Tweaks, extending the range an NPC will traverse up or down stairs in a building - But now there is a bashed patch tweak which does the same, the mod is no longer needed ) Something else which expands Wrye Bash ability to fully merge plugins, is CBash For the Game Oblivion, CBash is fully functional and will create a Bashed Patch including far more record types than Python Bash can ( PBash ) .. But for Skyrim, we dont have a C programmer who can check out whether the functionality of CBash is still good for this game. Waruddar was the original programmer of CBash, I havent seen him active on BGS Forums for a few years now. Wrinkly and Lojack have had occasional attempts at looking over CBash, but I dont think anyone currently understands it enough to attempt programming it. So for now in Skyrim, we have only PBash to make a Bashed Patch, and limited patchers compaired with Oblivion .. So the Auto-Ghost feature for deselected plugins is only going to be of use for the very rare plugin which PBash can currently fully merge. Its still documented for Oblivion users obviously because they are all over using it, its very beneficial for that game when they are using CBash as a preference over PBash See this screenshot from the old Oblivion Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide Note the Rebuild Patch, underneath it there is another Rebuild Patch ( CBash ) You dont get that for Skyrim Edit : Note also in that screenshot the plugins marked with a + and green text, those are merged and in a deselected state, and so could be auto-ghosted to not only reduce the amount of plugins from your Load Order total, but also to stop the Oblivion Game engine "esp thrashing", which is just a problem for that game with big load orders, as far as I know that problem has been solved in newer games by Bethesda since Oblivion. The only benefit of using auto-ghosting for Skyrim would be reduction of plugins when they are fully merged in the bashed patch. Hopefully one day, and if we get a programmer capable of checking out CBash. I have tried it on the couple of plugins I had at one time which were fully mergeable with PBash, but I have not had a need for the same mods in a long time. I think that roughly covers the subject. Edit 2 : Actually .. For Skyrim I dont think we will ever need Auto Ghosting, when plugins are deselected in Skyrim they do not count towards your total plugins anyway, so its not even beneficial for that purpose. Edit 3 : Note also most of the old team who programmed Wrye Bash for Oblivion, and one of them who started development for Skyrim, are no longer active. Wrye Bash has one Python Programmer at the moment, who has taken it upon himself to recode the whole of Wrye Bash ( refactoring so as to create a base of code which is easier to work with in future - Thats what 306 is ), so you can probably imagine that the huge amount of documentation for Wrye Bash and developments on the Skyrim side have got a little behind the times. Needs volunteers with time to do this stuff, and the requisite technical and specialized know how.

Astakos thats expected behaviour if you have ticked Skyrim.esm in the Import Names Whats happening is there are no mods loading later than Skyrim.esm which alter that particular records Full Name, so then the Bashed Patch carries forward the Full Name that is in Skyrim.esm Its doing what you have told it to do by leaving Import Names ticked for Skyrim.esm If there was another mod loading later, which ALSO changed the full name to something else, lets say this mod wants to call it "Windy Mill", then Windy Mill would win loading later than Skyrim.esm - Unless you deselected ( unticked ) this imaginary mod in the Import Names section, then Skyrim.esm Grain Mill would win again. Right now the games esm wants that objects Full Name to be called "Grain Mill", and you have told Wrye Bash to carry forward any winning names which no other mod changes later in your load order. Thats how Wrye Bash gives you choice to pick and choose what ends up in game, after a particular Load Order has been set, so you can effectively leapfrog records changes from earlier loading mods if you want them to end up in game, even though a later loading mod should ordinarily win if you did not have a bashed patch. Thats also why Bash Tags are important for any particular mod, they are the mod authors way of recommending what records should win over any particular load order. Wait until Wrye Bash can do this trick for a lot more record types, it gets a lot more complex :) If you have never seen what it can do for the Oblivion game, which Wrye Bash has had a lot more work on patchers done for it, the following screenshot may be a bit of a surprise .. One day we hope to have the same capabilities and more for Skyrim ( there are quite a few more record types for Skyrim than there were for Oblivion ) Utumno is hoping to work on including some of those for 307. But first this new beta is a milestone refactoring all the base code. The groundwork for better things to come is nearly complete.

VRAM usage for the vanilla game, no mods
alt3rn1ty replied to zerohaste's question in General Skyrim LE Support
System requirements according to the Steam site page = 1gb https://store.steampowered.com/app/202485/ Personally I think its higher, and that figure is a minimum spec - Recommended should be 2gb VRAM for Bethesda's High Res Texture packs. Since I got my new laptop I have been testing out a vanilla game with the High Res Texture packs and unofficial high res patch, using Skyrim Performance Monitor. I have on occasion seen it a little above 1.8 gb, but typically on new areas some of the cache is flushed and the game never really creeps above that figure. Game has been running stable for quite a few 6-8 hour sessions over the last week However if you go over your VRAM amount, you can expect crashes ( unless you are using ENBoost correctly setup ) With just the vanilla game and not using ENBoost, flooding your graphics card will give variable results from black / purple textures to CTDs. I did a lot of testing using SPM and my Vanilla Reduced Textures mod since 11.11.11, and can confirm that behaviour to be a constant with NVidia cards. If you can manage your installation so that the game always has at least 10% VRAM free for swapping in / out textures, then you will not have any texture related problems in the game. The game does cache more and more textures in VRAM ( and mirrored in system ram ), the more VRAM you have. But it does level out to an average after a while which if you are only using vanilla game plus bethesda High Res textures should be circa 1.8 gb or less. In SPM, Never let the two green lines meet and all will be sweet :) Dotted Dark Green = Total VRAM Solid Light Green = VRAM used If the latter touches the former you have too many high res textures installed, uninstall some and monitor the results throughout the game, if its always got a good margin of VRAM to spare you have this aspect tamed. I am not currently using ENBoost, but just using the SKSE Sheson Memory patch, and vanilla game with High Res and no mods textures = No problem with a 2 gb VRAM card. If I want to push it with a few high res mod textures I will be using ENBoost aswell. If I try to push it and add for instance all of SRO textures, so that SPM is showing the game to be fully using all of my VRAM a lot of the time, then I do start to experience crashes ( without ENBoost in use ) So a perfectly stable vanilla game is possible so long as you can achieve the game not taking up all of your VRAM, and have 10% or more of your total VRAM free at all times. As an experiment, if you have a setup with mods textures installed, which is causing crashes, go into the game launcher settings and put the texture detail on medium. That will get rid of your crashes because you have just effectively made all of the games textures half their size. Case proved. Now you just need to figure out which textures not to install so you dont have to set the games textures to a poorer quality. In answer to the OP : Yes -
We are a bit delayed setting off .. so have taken advantage of the extra time ... The collar bone looks good now with the meshes from Post #572, and the following screenshots are with Phygit's FemFeet installed ( Phygit's FemFeet ) ( also using the body texture from FemFeet which has better blended ankles than vanilla when used with these feet meshes ) Even the old folk look good ( ehm, well you know what I mean :P ) Right got to go this time, much travelling to do. I think these would be good uploaded to the S.T.E.P Nexus page.
-
Yeah I agree with Tech, I see what you are trying to do with the shoulders, but if they are to be vanilla mesh replacers which could be used with many different custom textures based on vanilla .. Then all custom texture sets would also need new bump mapping done, and without beths original very high poly meshes ( and your edits applied to those aswell ), any new normals produced are going to be a bit sub-par, theres also the problem of getting original texture artists to revisit their projects to make their normals STEP Female compatible. Woops incoming new post before mine - New version already :D = Grabbing and will test .. But I am just about on my way to driving my family to visit the in-laws on the east coast so will be away for a few days :(
-
Couple more minor issues - Very minor, "barely detectable unless you are looking for it" minor. First is the wrists, slight seam detectable especially if you are redguard female ( again open these up with a right click on a new tab for bigger versions ) And on the legs, slight seam from the inner thigh down to just below the knee detectable Lastly .. But this is mostly due to the vanilla feet not the body mesh, the original cornish pasties have a colouration mismatch at the ankle Other than those and the shoulders, its looking good SP. I tried it with various skin colours and races, pretty good all round for what you probably consider a beta at this stage.
-
SP Have a good look at the shoulders, here's vanilla meshes with Bethesda Hires texture packs, versus your meshes with the same textures : Its like the edge of the shoulder has been selected with a flesh magnet, and dragged down a little, also deforming the front collar bone. Open the images with a right click in two separate browser tabs, then flick between the two to compare the diff

Anyone staying on Win 7 or 8 .. watch out for some sneaky updates which have probably already happened : Windows 10 data gathering features are being backported to older OS https://www.pcworld.com/article/2978239/windows/microsoft-slips-user-tracking-tools-into-windows-7-8-amidst-windows-10-privacy-storm.html https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/microsoft-accused-of-adding-spy-features-to-windows-7-8/ https://www.extremetech.com/computing/213183-once-more-with-tracking-microsoft-backports-privacy-invading-windows-10-features-to-windows-7-8 https://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/28/microsoft-intensifies-data-collection-on-windows-7-and-8-systems/

Shezrie the old reductions I did for that previously, I dont think I will get around to redoing them - I have a new supersonic laptop bought recently ( ASUS with a Broadwell I7 CPU, Geforce 950 and apply big numbers to the rest of the usual specs ) .. So I have no reason to be doing reduced stuff anymore. Certainly still looking forward to it though :)

If you ever tried Pells Gate, you have just been conversing with the author. Shezrie's towns are superb, lots of lore in-jokes/references, voice acting, good design considered for companions in tow, and plenty of well considered detail for all users potential needs / immersion. https://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/3383-relz-shezries-towns/

It needs a couple of days to settle in, after all updates are complete and it has had time to optimize use of memory and hard drive setups thats when it starts to feel really good. ( For anyone who has never had a read of this, download the Win 7 TweakGuide pdf https://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html - Go to page 210, Memory Optimization, and read on for the next couple of sections including hardware and cache, ram, vram, memory and Windows memory management, fault tolerant heap, readyboost, readyboot etc etc - It goes on and on, Windows 7 was the first to do a major overhaul of resource management, thats why it felt so good on a fresh install in combination with less services running by default, and each OS since has made slight improvements to all this background optimization going on ) Thats also the same as was the case for Win 7 and 8, with the new OS background optimizing My old laptop is the same one I made vanilla reduced textures for, with a core 2 duo at 2.2 ghz, IDE HD, and old NVidia card, 4gb system ram. The performance increase was more than placebo on that machine , but believe what you will, I know which I prefer even though I hate all the crap that needs to be turned off. It may be placebo if you are used to having an older OS on an SSD with a Core I7, with such a machine you will probably not experience much difference upgrading. But running it on my new machine still feels better than Windows 7 ever did, and I am not exactly number one fan for all the unwelcome changes it brings.
-
imho once its tamed, it performs really well ( and that was my experience on my old laptop, before I got my new one a few days ago ) I would say its better on the performance front than Windows 7, how it will fair over time if you dont disable all the crap is anyones guess, but I would imagine it will become bloated and sluggish same as any windows before it, but possibly a bit more so because there is so much going on recording what you do / updating apps / syncing with the cloud .. if you leave everything at default settings. Tame it, and it feels like a breath of fresh air to me, and thats coming from someone who previously loved the performance of a clean Win 7 installation.
-
There has been a couple more windows updates since ( and before Windows 10 started getting distributed ), which apparently are also needing squished - Otherwise parts of the update can come back again ( I dont know all the exact details of how that happens but I know Arthmoor had a recurring update problem even though he had not clicked the "Reserve Windows 10" button, which was a bit cheeky of Microsoft ) .. Anyway full details ( I thought I posted them in this topic too .. cant remember ) Start of the first post here https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4193-windows-10/

Just been having a good look at the How-To-Geek site, and see what he has covered so far .... Its pretty good : Going to add this lot to the OP A lot of the following is about privacy, but dont go to sleep yet .. Performance of your machine benefits greatly imho. When installing Windows 10 Highly recommend NOT accepting windows Express settings when Win 10 installs, use Custom insteadWhat’s the Difference Between Windows 10’s Express or Custom Setup? Dont enter or create a Microsoft account, you will be offered to use a Local account insteadIt's strongly recommended to use a local account with Windows 10.You can do it while the "Make it yours" screen appears by clicking "Skip this step". After that it's safe to follow instructions. For creating Local accounts after installation ( for other users of the same machine ) :How to Set Up and Configure User Accounts on Windows 10 Something many people never look into, but with the new OS you are well advised toDigging into and Understanding Windows 10’s Privacy Settings30 Ways Your Windows 10 Computer Phones Home to Microsoft Maybe you have noticed your internet slowed down a little since installing Win 10A lot of the above are going to affect that, but also ...How to Stop Windows 10 From Uploading Updates to Other PCs Over the Internet A few more tips along the same lines as the above : Right click your Start ButtonNow you can select the old Control Panel which has a lot more options to look into especially in classic modeSuch as the new Flash Player settings manager ( and I think going through the old control panel is the only way you will be able to access this ) Theres a whole heap of stuff the Right click menu opens, have fun being nosy The following will stop cloud services .. And it would have to be restarted via the Services manager ( type Services.msc in Start Menu / All Apps / Windows System / Run ) - If you are happy with that :In the SysTray ( bottom righ hand side of windows near the clock ) click the arrow to open up the hidden systray AppsOneDrive - Right click it, choose settings, go to the first tab and untick it from starting up with windows. Apply and Close the settings. Then right click the OneDrive systray App again and choose exit Also - Those flip-flopping start menu Apps, like weather and news etc - They are using bandwidth too - Right click it, "Turn Live Tile Off", then right click and "Unpin from Start" to remove it. Rinse and repeat for all of them and then go to All Apps and drag n drop some useful programs onto the tiles instead like Calculator, Run and Task Manager for example. How To Add Remove Customize Tiles in Start Lastly keep an eye on developments here https://github.com/10se1ucgo/DisableWinTracking All of the above settings are reversible - My advice is to set everything to off, initially so that the horse does not bolt through the gate as soon as windows gets internet connection ( pretty much straight after installation ) .. Then you can allow things at your leisure as required and after you have had time to think about them. People who upgraded from Win 7 or 8 will be worst affected by the data grab initially, because all of your accumulated data from the old OS including all your documents, internet history, email content etc will be uploaded to the cloud and scrutinised for advertising purposes gathering information about you, your habits, and your friends associations / influences with you. Nothing we havent seen before with various other things like facebook, but now its at the OS level so potentially a lot more personal. If you are admin, on a machine with multiple users - Rinse and repeat all the above for each account .. Yes I know its a huge PITA, I just had to do the same on our family machine. But performance of the machine seriously benefits from taking the above steps.( Yes, even in comparison to Windows 7 which I thought was pretty good, get Win 10 tamed and it performs really well ) Dont forget to install Win 10 compatible graphics drivers, more than likely your old ones became disabled and a generic windows one will be in use instead. Another site with a lot of the above, but a few more details too such as edge configuration https://fix10.isleaked.com/
