  1. Simple solution, use LOOTs "Load After" Metadata, In the right handlist choose the 3 dot menu on DynDOLOD.esp, and select "Edit Metadata" Choose the Load After section Scroll the left list so you can see bashed patch, then Drag n Drop Bashed Patch into DynDOLODs Load After section Now click the Tick ( top right of the Metadata Editor ) to save the edit Now when you run LOOTs Sort Plugins, DynDOLOD.esp will always be sorted to Load After the Bashed Patch You are instructing LOOT that you want DynDOLOD, to Load After, the following listed plugins. You will notice I have already sorted my plugins and DynDOLOD is coming last in the list.
  2. Updated the DynDOLOD for Wrye Bash users guide to include a spoiler near the end of the first post reference TexGen Havent used it before .. Seems to work pretty well though its noted as experimental in the docs.
  3. DynDOLOD Guide for Wrye Bash users .. .. has had a bit of attention, brought it up to date and in line with DynDOLOD 1.47, amended a few instructions and redid all the screens, plus added a little bit of info reference using mods billboards and their install order, and not forgetting also using Wrye Bash Override Skips on extra billboard sets ( hopefully I will pay attention to my own advice in future :) )
  4. The G for Gibson Research Company logo ?, I think he has been using that since about 2003, his Unplug N Pray tool from 2001 did not have it ( still works on more recent versions of windows ), but his Shoot the messenger from 2003 did ( have a look at the top right of the tool ). And even more recently his DNS Benchmark has a coloured in Logo that has quite a neat anim when it first loads. Spinrite also has the logo in more recent years versions ( wish he would finish SQRL and get on with the next version ) I dont think Steve Gibson would even know who IGN are, unless they have been newsworthy in a security sense then he probably does.
  5. Aah dammit, I did it again .. Forgot to override skips on the "Vanilla Skyrim LOD Billboards" zip, so Wrye Bash was blocking the .txt files which needed to be installed :) Thanks Zilav, apologies for not learning from last time I did the same trick when learning about DynDOLOD 1.46. Edit : Even more embarrassing - If I had followed step 4 of my own installation guide I would have found the answer "Cleetus git ma gun, hoss needs put outta his mizzery!" Edit 2 : Now we are cooking with gas .. Spot the SMIM windmill ( a little to the right of my cursor )
  6. Hi Sheson I am getting the same problem as Ed209 with DynDOLOD 1.47 Using the latest TES5Edit from its new Fallout 4 mod page I have installed everything the same way I did with 1.46 ( Wrye Bash BAIN apart from the Edit Scripts which have to be manually installed ) I am using no tree mods Starting with a fresh DynDOLOD.esp plugin before generation, and also installing all the output files with a freshly made BAIN each time I have regenerated all the files .. Which is installing last in my Install Order Its as if I have the wrong sized LOD meshes for most trees, which are too large. They have the correct billboard dds aplied to them, but they are just about a third bigger than the actual models when you get closer, so when the models pop in the trees become shorter I have also manually deleted Data \ meshes folder, and manually deleted Data \ Textures folder ( just for good measure ), to ensure no old files from anything are left behind, and a full refresh of mys installers has indeed got the correct files ( and only the correct files ) installed in the correct sequence of overwrites - DynDOLOD output files BAIN being last has all of its files win Just using the Wizard, selecting all worlds, selecting medium ( not using advanced yet ) .. And away it goes producing 1595 output files I have previously had Tamriel Reloaded Trees installed, but uninstalled ( and as mentioned above completely deleted Meshes and Textures folders to ensure all old files eradicated before using Wrye Bash to re-install current setup ) So I'm at a bit of a loss as to what is wrong here, also tried a new game start, but did not need to wait long, the pop in is even evident from the opening sequence cart and just looking ahead all the time for trees which suddenly reduce in size before you even get off the cart. Been to all corners of the map and its the same I believe for just about all tree types - Its as if I should have one of those bigger trees mods installed to match up model sizes with LOD sizes, but I haven't Any ideas where to look next ?
  7. Riiight - And for people who want their Windows 7 / 8 kept up to date with all the zero day exploits fixed until support officially runs out ( circa 2020 ? ) use Never10 instead. Doesnt your method also need to use GPEdit ?, most people with Home or Premium versions of Win 7 / 8 do not have that capability ( which is also another advantage of Never10 )
  8. For anyone who has not heard of Never10 Have a listen to the video here https://twit.tv/shows/security-now/episodes/553?autostart=false Go to 1:08:25 ish ( or go to 1:17:50 to skip the history of how it came about ), and listen .. Theres a fair bit more to this than just setting a registry key, Never10 does it all aswell as setting access rights on the registry keys ( which are inherited ) so that even windows cannot undo what Never10 has done, Never10 can toggle it all again if you ever wish to install 10 at a later date. I have added this to the start of the OP in this topic, replacing all the old "dont allow windows update number xxxxx" list, or blocking GWX. Never10 is a far better way of preventing Win 10 happening. If GWX sees these changes and has already downloaded 3gb of Windows files for the pending update .. GWX honours the settings and deletes the now redundant 3gb of files, so you clear up some HD space being hogged too.
  9. xEdit is many tools all contained in the same exe, name it as one of the supported tools and it becomes that tool ... TES4LODGen, TES5LODGen, TES4Edit, TES5Edit, TES5View, TES5Trans, FO3Edit, FNVEdit, FO4Edit, TESDump .. plus a few others I forget just now - If you have the latest version, you have the latest version of all the others included ( though thats not to say all of them are being worked on still but the latest most bug free version will be included ) Right now https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2737/? is the latest version of all of them.
  10. Aha :), so for DynDOLOD we just need multipurpose LODGen.exe helper If we wish to use TES5LODGen.exe we just rename a copy of TES5Edit.exe as is traditional with xEdit, and TES5LODGen.exe would also use LODGen.exe in its processing of LOD .. But is not necessary for DynDOLOD Thanks Zilav that clears up my confusion. ( And I guess for Oblivion users renaming TES5Edit.exe as TES4LODGEN.exe would work as it always has for that game ( without the need for LODGen.exe ) )
  11. Sheson just a note which is probably confusing for some .. Requirements FO4Edit PreRelease Alpha (FO4Edit 3.1.3 - 67b61d7 dated 17 February 2016) or newer. This is the newest developer version of xEdit. In case there is no TES5Edit.exe in the archive, just rename the *.exe file. Refer to its readme.txt for information.SKSEPapyrusUtil 3.xVanilla Skyrim LOD Billboards from TES5LODGen and then any optional LOD Billboards for the load order .. So if we grab the current FO4Edit 3.1.3 - be500bb TES5LODGen itself is no longer included in the zip .. And your notes / requirements no longer point out a need for it, so it can be assumed that TES5LODGen itself is not needed for anyone who has not used this before - And for those that do, where do they grab the latest required version ?, is it a beta which you rename from the FO4Edit.exe ( which is actually TES5Edit.exe when you download it ), or just the old TES5LODGen.exe itself from the nexus site which is derived from 3.1.2 code ( I think .. Not sure myself here :) ) Edit : Disregard - LODGen.exe is included, its inside Edit Scripts\ folder  I think I get mixed up with this because from older LOD Gen for Oblivion, we used to edit the name of TES4Edit.exe to TES4LODGen.exe and use that .. Whereas now LODGen.exe has become a separate entity inside edit scripts and not in the root of the game folder ( noteably the Skyrim Nexus mod page for this tool is called "TES5LODGen", not LODGen, which makes us think along the same lines as TES4LODGen for those of us who used it )
  12. :) No offense taken, and I understand your perspective, I just thought that people could have interpreted your advanced knowledge of just about every aspect of the game and what you said there as meaning standalone was in some way less capable. Anyway, ending my off topic, thanks to you both for the excellent research and monumental effort that has gone into this project, I am just about to update to the latest of everything and start a new serious game with everything I want installed from the outset, I think I can finally have an extensive playthrough of this game with the knowledge that the community has just about squashed every bug that can be squashed, and an immersive and beautiful experience can be had without some little annoyance distracting the experience .. .. Probably be about 8-10 years before we can say the same for Fallout 4 - No thanks to bugthesda
  13. Sheson / Zilav Are you two aware of a recent bug with saves that has been found https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3924850-corrupt-saves-strcount-0xffff-ctd-on-load/ See the Technical Issue Description ( its a 16 bit integer limitation ) - I wondered if DynDOLOD helps to contribute to the amount of stored strings and gives people those unloadable saves ---------------------------------------- Utumno is producing updated versions of Standalone too which also need testing The version Kelmych is using is the latest as of within the last few days and is linked at the end of the second post here https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1599816-wrye-bash-thread-108/page-1?do=findComment&comment=25099222 The most recent was compiled 2 days ago https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7b5ily482re0khs/AAD3vAWMVJNIpuS30tsdVte5a?dl=0 Its also included in the newly compiled installer which Utumno was asking everyone to test recently ( its all working marvellously imho ) So please dont be putting people off trying out the various options Utumno is asking us all to keep testing, standalone uses the same code python does, and is in no way inferior to the python version, so is not just for newbies and is actually the preferred version by some of us long in the tooth users these days. Edit : The latest python version does include more patchers for skyrim, but they are buggy which Utumno needs to first understand before he can address the problems ( see Utumno's response to this post by Arthmoor ) - The newer patchers have been imported from Sharlikrans work, who equally does not really understand patchers
  14. @ TA or Z or whoever is uploading : Have you considered a backup site for files ?, if not and there are any thoughts along that line I would recommend : The Assimilation Lab Files can be up to 6gb, and in my experience with large files ( uploading all the files for 25 versions of Vanilla Reduced Textures to Nexus ), its a lot easier uploading there. I have ony uploaded the last couple of versions of VRT to TheAssimilationLab, but both occasions have been a breath of fresh air, just one upload attempt was successful on both occasions ( as opposed to nexus usual with large files, wait for most of a day for an upload to fail in the last few percent, depending on random amounts of traffic and sudden site drop-outs ). And of course you are not limited to one site being functional for the purposes of people downloading. Bit of a pain doing things twice, but worth it imho.
  15. Reference all the Telemetry going on in Windows 10 ( and being back ported to Win 7 / 8 ) An old trusty name has popped up recently with a new tool : Click >> Spybot Anti-Beacon << Click Turns off the following .. Spybot Anti-Beacon has this option when you install it : Stay protected: Refresh immunization after each system restart ( In case MS undermines any hosts file entries etc ) It also sets a bunch of Registry keys to prevent services
  16. Deckard from Blade Runner ? - I guess you are going to be chasing replicants :)
  17. Yes, the parents, aswell as eggs .. watch out for what look like slightly big mole hills in dirt with a greenish cap, thats the parents shell in the dugouts that they make to snuggle down in. I agree with most of what you have to say, it is a lot better than previous games. There are some nice surprises in store about the enemy strategy sometimes too :) If you are anywhere near mutants and you hear a faint beeping getting closer .. RUN! Anyone ever played Serious Sam :)
  18. The following link is going to be a little bit spoiler'ish, but its nice purely for finding out how to do some things which really are not obvious in game ( or the non-existant manual for steam purchased PC installations ) https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/11/12/fallout-4-guide/ That bug reference FOV is already noted in what I think is going to be an official bug reporting topic on BGS forums ( at least it is being compiled by one of their moderators ) .. https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1544248-bug-report-index-pc/page-1 Maybe your report will add to its validity ? ( that seems to be the way the reports are being confirmed, by independant reports of the same problems ), and possibly added to Bethesdas official bug fixing.
  19. Yep its also good to see a programmer we can trust getting in on the early developments with such an essential tool, we have the usual Script Extender team already into reverse engineering aspects of FO4, no doubt Zilav and Hlp will be doing FO4Edit and possibly FO4Dump ( to determine 100% all the games records ) .. .. All we needed besides those was a good extractor which can be relied upon ( Jon is the same programmer who is doing the development of NifSkope 2 ) And ofc the new GECK :)
  20. B.A.E - Bethesda Archive Extractor At time of posting this tool is very early days in development.
  21. TES5Edit version 3.1.2 released on Nexus :)
  22. Theres a new WIP of TES5Edit up .. Sheson .. Zilav has also said its probably time to up the next Relz of TES5Edit on Nexus, so linking the WIP for guides may no longer be needed ( although there is consistently nothing wrong with using the WIP )
  23. 306 is released
  24. Just a feeler to see if it would be needed Mator has talented fingers in a few very nice projects ( Merging / Smashing / mtefunctions ), who knows what the future will bring if he remains dedicated to the cause and possibly supporting FO4 too ? I can imagine once they get going these tools are going to have many off-shoot and complex topics : .. Could do with a "Mator Tools support" sub-forum.
