pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Smile44 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
"I use LOOT to order my mods as BOSS makes my game to crash before loading it." SR:LE is not set up to work with LOOT yet. It is specifically arranged to work with BOSS and B.U.M. I expect that you will be having a number of other potential problems. Go back to BOSS and make sure you have followed the instructions. SR:LE works great with REGS, no crashes no problems. -
It doesn't sort Requiem properly as yet. The STEP extended patch deals with issues relating to the mods installed by STEP Extended. Requiem adds other things to it, so it will override where it needs to in STEP. Requiem and all of its patches should load post STEP patch but before the Bashed patch. Mods like Interesting NPCs should load after the Requiem patches with their respective patches following. In other words install Requiem on top of your STEP install. LOOT does not sort Requiem properly. Requiem needs to be close to the end of the load order but LOOT sticks it in really early so it gets overwritten by a lot of other mods which will cause Requiem changes to not work. REGS does not add changes to vanilla stats so it can load in with STEP and be sorted by LOOT, but you will need to add special instructions for Requiem. Mods that add NPCs and or changes to NPCs need to be loaded after Requiem and it's patches but if you add mods that do not have Requiem patches then those new NPCs may well be very underpowered. Hope this helps.

1) install Step, Regs and test then Requiem. 2) you would need to load Requiem after the STEP patch. 3) No you don't need to do that. When you build the bashed patch you will get options of which you only select the merge and levelled list options.

Hi, I think it might be useful to remove the Base Requiem pack from the wiki. The only Requiem pack that is being maintained is the Pack: Requiem (under R in packs). Probably the Extended Requiem pack as well but as I did not set that up I can't talk for Spock. That said we both worked on Pack: Requiem so I would guess that he would also go for his one to be removed. He is not about much these days. Anyway am I able to remove my Base Requiem pack and close the thread on that pack as I am only willing to update and support the one pack. Thanks in advance,
-
The base pack is out of date the main pack under Pack Requiem is very much up to date and is built with 2.2.9 in mind. Get stuck in.

Thanks patch has been added to pack.

Not to judge but it is this statement that causes the controversy and is what "Red's" complaint was likely to be about. "Goddamn stupid anime jumping at me from around every corner. Honestly, japenese stuff should remain in Japan." Though it could also have been to do with your suggestion that 99% of the children mods out there are worse than vanilla - a bit of a faux pas wouldn't you say? It comes across as though you have something against Japanese people and or Japan. If you do you should keep it to yourself this is not the place for it, not that there should be any kind of place for that kind of talk. Of course if you don't have anything against our south east Asian friends then you need to choose your words more carefully. If you don't like anime then that's fine lots of people don't but also many people do, but that is certainly not the STEP approach because anime is not very realistic but instead is a very stylised representation of characters. It's not my taste but I am happy to accept that it is other peoples choice and that is fine. This mod adds to the realism and is currently in my current play through thanks to SR:LE. Anything that can help make a cartoon less cartoonish is going to improve the realism, after all if the game wants us to adopt the little blighters the the least they can do is look and act like kids.
-
I personally do not care about that feature. There are, I think, some issues with trying to script all of that up properly, not sure where I read that so I am not 100% on it but the mod "non essential Children" sorts it out so that is the way to go.
-
Duuuude, you want realism? You try to kill a kid he runs away and the villagers get irate and kill you - seems that would happen anywhere in the world. But if you mean that you actually hit him with a weapon and he doesn't die then I suppose that there is a point. A mod for this exists in the STEP guide at the end of gameplay, you would need to load it after Requiem.esp I should think. That said Requiem makes all (or most) NPCs killable by the player so I am surprised that children are essential again.

SR Conflict Resolution Patch
Smile44 replied to Geheiligt's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
I would not worry about the conflict resolution for REGS and SR:LE at present. It has not been updated for a while. They are only minor conflicts AFAIA and should not hurt the game. I have an up to date SR:LE install with REGS and Rquiem all working nicely without doing any other patching. REGS does work well with SR:LE. The CR for this guide (SR:LE) is fine and you need to keep it as is. Any questions to do with REGS should really be addressed to the REGS part of this forum - LINK. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Wow did not realise that PW and CoT could be used together, as on the PW page it is or was declared incompatible. I will have to try this. -

Completely different weather set up. It is supported by Vividian. I have tried PW but it seemed too gentle weather wise though I did like the lighting. You would need to add Supreme Storms to PW so that the weather would become visually a factor - so CoT wins for me at present. -
Yes you can add IW Requiem already adds a number of weapons from different mods and I have Jaysus as well. Having IW does enable you to use the add on plugin from Inconsequential NPCs. At present any follower that is not purely vanilla in structure will need a patch. Vilja and Inigo have patches, I would like to see patches for Arissa and Sofia. The problem is that such specialised followers need to load after Requiem.esp otherwise they may not work properly but then they will be too weak so a patch brings their stats up to Requiem levels and then you are golden. I have Vilja and Inigo at present and both work well. As for AFT, it should be fine but the more things it does the more likely it will have conflicts with Requiem. I use EFF at the moment but Simple Follower Mod by Kuertee has the least compatibility issues with anything and is a safe bet. DCO I use, not using CWO at present, I want to but there is already too much going on with REGS and Immersive Patrols to want to add to the burden further.
-
That is an oversight and has been corrected - Trade and Barter patch now in guide. I'm sorry you are struggling with REGS, I have SR:LE plus almost full REGS and Requiem and rarely have a CTD. I'm sure that unless you're system is struggling then you may have an installation or load order problem. I am hoping to provide more information on the latter in the guide soon. Still testing that myself.
-
It has been a tad slow with files recently but still up and running I've had very little interruption when it comes to downloading files and no problems with the site. Possibly a problem with the US servers?
-
It should do, Requiem really needs to be late in your load order as to accurately quote the gist of an often misquoted statement from the nexus page, "anything loaded after Requiem.esp will break something" this is a little dramatic but, the key with mods that have patches for them is whether they carry forward Requiem stats and changes, in which case the mod should load after Requiem then the patch, but if the patch carries mod changes forward (e.g. an NPC changing mod) then that mod should load before Requiem and the patch after. I need to look into that a bit myself for the guide make sure all is accurate, but there id no accounting for all the variations that a modder will install so not going to do that. If using STEP I really advise using 2.29. 2.28 is seriously out of date now. I know it isn't released yet but it works a treat (I think it may well be released soon because of the speed with which many changes are taking place). Then you will be able to use the STEP patch as well as the Requiem STEP patch, which also works for SR:LE and should load after both.
-
Yes it is, but of course if you add all the packs together then you can have extra potential issues. If you are working from STEP Core then you will be able to add all of those packs. They have instructions to make them compatible with Requiem and each other. The same with STEP Extended but there you will begin to have more potential issues. Mod merging will become necessary with REGS and Requiem. If you use SR:LE then many mods will have been merged and you wont need the Survival or Weather / Lighting pack. I have used SR:LE with REGS and Requiem and it works fine, though some tweaking is necessary. The main problems potentially arise when adding other mods which are not in the packs. If you want to add other mods as well (you wont need to as your Skyrim will already be awesome) then check for those that have Requiem Patches i.e. Vilja and Inigo both have patches. I can't play without REGS now it just has to be in my game but Requiem will need to load after after all of the REGS mods in most cases. Interestingly most of the Requiem Patches merge quite happily as well. There are quite a few very keen and helpful members who use this pack with REGS and most seemed quite happy with their games, so you will be in good company. I would make a choice about what packs you want / need to use and install those religiously. Then try the game out, come back here for any questions to make sure all is running smoothly. Then look at adding new mods should you want to. All the best

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Smile44 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
HI it looks like you are getting traps sorted out lately, I wonder if you have given any thought to a mod called "Subliminal Traps 2" it has recently been updated and now has a Sovngarde edition which replaces the really obvious pressure plates with a small rock pile. It is really immersive as it makes you start to notice like large weapons dangling from ceilings or unusual rock or log piles. Certainly walking around the edges in such places is crucial. With taps in SR:LE now being more dangerous it would seem that something like this would be the last part of that particular puzzle and it is just meshes. What do you think? -

Thanks for that, good to know. That discussion was circular a great deal of the time and did not get to any obvious resolution that I could see. -

In the guide the MO settings are to keep extracting BSAs, but in the MO part of the forum with respect to these changes made to MO there was a lot of discussion and insistence in not extracting them, at least for the USKP etc.. Is this still the case or should we extract the BSAs from the unofficial patches. Based on the guide we should, was this ever resolved? -
It will need to be after whichever of the two mods is loaded last by BOSS. When sorted load up your whole load order in TES5Edit if it completes then you should be fine, if it does not then it will tell you why. Do you have the full SR:LE install including memory patch?
-
Ok after that thinly disguised kick up the back side I have updated this pack. It should compare with what is out there now with STEP and SR:LE and I have added a section for REGS as well. Now to get back to ironing shirts.

Yes it is, I haven't gotten around to that yet. My erstwhile partner and I have not been in contact much recently about where we want this to go - that said it isn't really a work in progress as it is fairly stable in it's present state apart from updates. If users want to add extra mods or other packs such as REGS then there could be some pointers for that, which would mainly be the use of relevent Requiem patches for the NPC mods, ETAC and the removal of the Inn mod RRR. I will attempt to update it all now.

I they think they mainly affect third person perspective.
