  1. "Do not install StaticMeshImprovementMod.esp as it is obsolete with the USKP." I assume we still install the StaticMeshImprovementMod-DragonbornTernFix.esp, right?
  2. "Realistic Needs and Diseases(no change to the patch notes)" can we keep the same patch we already built or do we need to build another one based off the 1.9.5 mod?
  3. If we don't use the Character Maker Extender (whatever this is) is there any reason to update Race Menu to 1.4.9?
  4. Thanks. Â What is it about SkyRe that you particularly like? Does you mean that SkyProc increases stability as well as allowing for you to create the patches you need?
  5. Having step by step instructions for how to integrate SkyRe is very useful. As is going through the patches required to get it runing with SR. Thanks. I would be interested in hearing a comparison of it to the alternatives - what are the strengths and weaknesses of it. (I use ACE so would love a comparison to that if you are familiar with both.) A couple of thoughts on some of your additional mods: I thought the reason SkyTest got dropped from SR was that it was associated with CTDs. I read the reason SkyMo Mod got booted from Nexus was that he had been using other modder's and company's work without their permission. (If i'm wrong please correct me!) We all have to make our own decisions on where to draw the line on this issue. I think Neo has been quite conservative on this in his own work - I'm thinking of his efforts to get approval with DSR.
  6. BTW, it looks like STEP recently added two new mods: Disease Descriptions for the Immersive Adventurer ( which I think has a RND patch)  (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31202) and Improved Horse Step Sounds (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31039). Speaking of RND - it got updated to 1.9.5. (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228)
  7. I've never noticed whatever the issue is with vanilla teeth. Given that I'm not sure I want to increase memory usage to address the problem if that means an increased risk of infinite load screens when entering populated areas.Â
  8. Yes. Lots of patches - especially for some of the big mods (2 x Immersive and Heavy Armory). The Skyforge shields you did a patch for looks interesting.
  9. @Abbadon - that's a good point. A short dissertation on what the critical performance metrics on a GPU (and other hardware) would also be helpful. As near as I can tell (which is not all that well) the hardware specs that really matter are: GPU - VRAM in GBs seems to be the most important metric in Skyrim, a good graphics card that lacks 4 GB of VRAM is just not going to perform as well as one thinks it ought to. SLI/Crossfire will not really overcome this issue. Memory - 4 GB of RAM is essential but more can help a bit after you run through the 3.2 GB's the engine can readily access. Drive - SSD with plenty of space can help a bit after you run through your ram above; fast HDDs are better than average/slow HDDs for this.. Speed- Clock speed/overclocking CPUs and GPUs don't really give you much of a boost when moving from pretty good to amazing clock speeds. (Do faster GPUs help with ENB post-processing?) If you have money to throw at your system and want a more stable Skyrim it seems that upgrading to a 4 GB GPU is where you will get the most boost, but more memory is cheap so this might give a reasonable return on investment (i.e. memory will only give you a bit of an improvement but it's cheaper to upgrade than the other alternatives). I look forward to someone who actually knows what they are talking about correcting my mistakes above!
  10. You should alternatively/additionally try to DDSOpt your textures. This seems to make a considerable difference (says someone who learned from experience).
  11. Looked at CoT 3.1 a bit. (I installed all the defaults.) The only mod it seems to overwrite is a texture for tundragrass from Skyrim Flora Overhaul. (I removed Immersive Thunder as that seemed too big of a conflict as I assumed the .esps would not play not. Plus I want to try out the Cot Sounds.) Dramatic clouds has textures but no .esp. The textures do not conflict with CoT 3.1. The note about a conflict a few months ago mentioned that whichever cloud texture you preferred should just overwrite the other. CoT winter seems to overwrite a few SFO (farm house and dirt) and World Map items. I wonder where to put CoT in the process. If it's before textures I will get to keep SFO's tundragrass, otherwise I will get CoT's. CoT Winter (if I use it) should go after SFO so I get the new snowy goodness. BOSS seems to have the esps all sorted out. I'm kind of shocked that MO does not list any conflicts for RLO or or Skyrim Project Optimization. I guess this means their order doesn't matter so long as I let BOSS sort out the esps.
  12. The trick is to manually download large files (which allows you to chose your own server) and then install them with the button on the upper left hand corner of MO. You can use the built in NMM downloader for smaller ones.
  13. I use ACE but not ASIS and don't think I've seen this happen to me.
  14. If you still have the original files you downloaded you can import them into MO - which will then warn you which might need to be updated to new versions. But it's probably quicker to download most of them again.
  15. You can set Wrye bash up as an executable under MO in which case it will act on the MO created virtual data directory. This can certainly rebuild bashed patches. It can do other things too but I don't know exactly what it can or can't do.
  16. And when you start over use MO. You will save yourself a lot of grief down the road.Â
  17. Try using alternate start to begin a game in Whiterun (Breezehome and/or Companions) and see if you can enter and leave all of the buildings. Or if you have a prior save from this play through that was in Whiterun you could try using that. You need to figure out if it is something corrupted in your current save game or something in your mods.
  18. Did Arthmoor really not clean his mod (Point the Way)? Or are these intentional?
  19. It relates to the esp included in the Dual Sheathe Patch that you need to replace the .esp file in the Amidianborn wolf armor mod. So you would be editing the replacement esp not the original one. On topics 'Amidianborn' related, both Scaled Armors and Saviours Hide are now obsolete as they are included in the new book of Silence update. :) Thanks. I understand, sort of... I assume we need to keep the original Skyforge weapons .esp and the edit to forward the unofficial patches from that, no? EDIT - on second look it seems not, that the new esp in the DSR patch has the same name and thus will overwrite aMidianBornb's original .esp. Further I assume Neo has forwarded the content from the unofficial patches and thus we do not need to edit the file to incorporate these. I think ....
  20. I don't understand the warning on remakng the patch for Wolf Armor and Skyforge Steel and GDO using the new ESP from the DSR optional patch.
  21. So it looks like CoT 3.1 was released today. Still too many choices that I fundamentally do not understand with ENB.
  22. My instinct is that Alternate Start might be having an effect here - from what little I know of that mod. You might consider seeing if you get CTDs just using Vanilla plus Riverhelm mod. If you do then it is probably the underlying mod and not how it interacts with others that's causing the issue. If not you can try adding in mods in batches (using MO) to isolate the ones causing issues.
  23. Why are yellow teeth lore friendly? I wasn't aware Beth had a policy on dental hygiene in Tamriel. The generally do not show a population suffering under disfiguring diseases. In fact they are so rare that they are only explained as isolated populations afflicted by Daedric Lords, not the typical human condition. It's probably not all that realistic either if we are using the Dark and Middle Ages as our model. Dental hygiene in the Middle Ages was better than in following centuries - there was almost no sugar, coffee, tea or cola and less highly refined carbohydrates. Less stuff to rot and stain teeth. We generally don't have a lot of caracters with pox marks, warts and boils on their face - which were common disfugurements during these times. So why introduce yellow teeth?
  24. Clever and useful. Good idea not to put unnecessary data into the save game.
