  1. Not that it matters much, but the guy only downloaded the mods to showcase the flaws with them, he said he didn't intend to use them either way. Also, with the fact that your money is stuck with steam and the fact that you get banned for 7 days from the marketplace if you ask for a refund, I can't really blame him for acquiring the mods through piracy.
  2. So someone went ahead and tested almost all the paid mods on the workshop. I'm sad to say my last post didn't nearly cover as much of the stuff that's wrong with those mods. https://imgur.com/a/bqcla?gallery Bleakden is by far my favorite. Honestly, I could do better with my eyes closed...
  3. First paid mods then WilliamImm updates his mod? The world's end is nigh I'm telling you.
  4. You'd expect paid mods to be of a good quality, wouldn't you? Well think again.
  5. Maybe they're worried you'd put your mods behind a paywall and are downloading them just in case that happens
  6. That's why I used a html snapshot, with everyone's comments being deleted these last 2 days, it's better to take preemptive measures.
  7. It would be impossible to have version tracking for Steam Workshop considering the workshop itself doesn't have a versioning system. It's up to the mod author to put the version number on the description, otherwise there's no way of knowing the version number for a given mod. There's just this tutorial to installing steam workshop mods on MO/NMM that I can direct you to.
  8. Alright, another bit of news. Welcome to the first mod with actual ad popups in it. Midas Magic has a 4% chance upon casting a spell of triggering a popup advertising the paid version of the mod. On a sidenote, people are already posting the paid mods for free all over the internet. I won't give links for obvious reasons but any 5 year old could find them.
  9. Well people are actually sending Chesko donations right now after his announcement to quit the workshop. That means at least not everyone's being hostile. On a side note, here's some pretty bad news, because that's just what we needed.
  10. He also deleted his twitter account. It's probably because of all the attacks he's been getting.
  11. Some people are claiming the donation link on that mod has been removed because it was using a link shortener. I hope that's the actual truth because otherwise things would go even worse...
  12. https://i.imgur.com/wW5j5yu.jpg Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Valve is now effectively preventing modders from asking for donations. If you want money for your mods, you have to use the monetization option. It's just sickening. EDIT: The link might have actually been removed because it was a shortened link, will update if I learn more about this.
  13. The cut that the modders make is supposedly the same as what "content creators" make for DotA/TF2/CSGO : 75% goes to Valve/Bethesda, 25% goes to the dev.
  14. Don't worry about Arissa, according to the voice actress, "Arissa V2.0 will make an appearance on the Nexus soon enough." EDIT: Also, this is what Chesko said on the matter.
  15. Well that's the thing though, there's no guarantee said mods will remain on the nexus, is there? Version 2 of wet and cold for instance is already up on steam workshop, but there's no sign of it on the nexus. (Which might explain all the angry comments in there)
  16. This is just a thread to make people aware that paid for mods are now officially a thing on the workshop. As you can see here, there are already a few mods that are going behind a paywall. Now this bit of news is sure to spark a lot of controversy, so please keep it civil in the comments and avoid attacking mod makers for their move.
  17. Here's hoping the guide doesn't get too much affected by Valve/Bethesda's decision to make mods on the workshop paid...
  18. Maintaining a merged version of the ETaC would be a pain in the behind what with having to update it with each new version, plus people are bound to ask for custom merged patches...
  19. 1/- I keep missing the updates to that particular mod... Yeah using 2.5.3 is fine, I'll update the version number in the guide. 2/- Yep that's the one.
  20. Just when I was thinking of adding a player homes part to REGS Oh well, guess I'll stick with quest mods and help with the compatibility if you want me to. EDIT: Some suggestions (that are compatible with REGS) - Breezehome FullyUpgradable (compatible with Whiterun mods if it's loaded before them) - Build Your Own Home: What I suspect to be the mod that gave Bethesda the hearthfires idea, what with them prefixing the game files for that DLC with BYOH. - The TNF player homes: Makes the vanilla homes more interesting. - Hassildor: A player home near the Volkihar castle.
  21. I've already tested it compatibility wise and was going to add it when I get the time to actually try it, but I suppose I could add it off the bat since MannyGT's mods are all in REGS already.
  22. Already on it EDIT: The mod is fully compatible with a STEP+REGS install, so feel free to try it until it makes it into the guide
  23. Where were you 3 years ago? I should've though of that back when I had a crossfire of 6870s :p
  24. Enhanced Blood Textures should probably be added to the list. That's an acronym I see used quite often here.
  25. I don't remember it conflicting with EBT. It does however conflict with CCF and CCO.
