  1. You are right, some are horribly long. However, it's usually the first part that's important. I don't really agree with putting author's name before the name of the mod, but it's called like that, and when you cut it out, the name starts with completely different letters and it's confusing when you are looking for files in a folder, for example. So for example, stuff like this Enemy AI OverHaul---Revenge Of the Enemies---No Scripts Version Better Stealth AI for Followers - No Torch while Sneaking could be shortened from the other end without problems, while "Shrines HD" cut down from "Mystery Modders Shrines HD" is really really BAD idea.
  2. Is the fix mentioned in the list the same thing as the mod in STEP? I am slightly confused, because one talks about sneaking and the other doesn't. P.S. https://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Dawnguard%20Patch%20Version%20History.html https://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Hearthfire%20Patch%20Version%20History.html https://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Dragonborn%20Patch%20Version%20History.html
  3. Just browsing through the forums, I would say there are several well tested (and in some cases even marked accepted) mods that could be added. Why wait?
  4. Doesn't prevent her from doing her own, does it? Besides, I'd rather use a mod which tries to do the whole thing (eventually) rather than just one little part.
  5. Oh an introduction thread. Why not. I am a 32 years old male metalhead from Czech republic, ex-hardcore (even in current unemployed state I can't afford to to play stuff for 12+ hours straight anymore due to basically having a life) gamer with history of (mostly) RPGs - Arena, Daggerfall, Dungeon master (in that order, seriously) and then nothing, because nothing else ever came close - and later MMORPGS - Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, LOTRO - and that's where "having a life" stopped to have any real meaning for several years. Cat lover. IT guy. Fond of black and disgusting humour. Cursing all day long. Extremely short temper (history of broken keyboards and one €400 monitor flying across the room). Nice to meet you.
  6. As a matter of fact, new changelog entry was posted for all of the unofficial patches yesterday, I see. Those guys are definitely busy over there...
  7. Holy crap, I've just realized a HUGE updated was apparently released yesterday. It's not on Nexus at all, but look at the changelog! https://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Skyrim%20Patch%20Version%20History.html
  8. ...if you use lots of combat-related mods I assume? Or?...
  9. Has anyone tried this one? Looks like reasonable compromise between new features and tweaks to existing system.
  10. There are two mods listed on GEMS that, judging by videos, improve/fix dual weild animations in pretty significant way. I was wondering whether they wouldn't be nice additions to STEP. There doesn't seem to be a thread about this. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/248 (https://youtu.be/UZJXTHHEWCY) https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1987 ( )
  11. I think the name of the mod is confusing as well.
  12. THIS, a million times.Just because a mod has weird seemingly unrelated stuff for example at the beginning of the name doesn't mean it should be renamed in the guide. It confuses people.
  13. FIY: Version 2.7 ================== Removed the No Notes ESPs Edited STATIC entries to replace BC_HighPolyBook* with BCS_Book_* Edited STATIC entries to replace BC_HighPolyJournal* with BCS_Journal_* Delocalized all ESPs into native languages Merged each set of Skyrim/DG/HF/DB ESPs into a Merged ESP Deleted STRINGS folder Updated BAIN and FOMOD wizards to reflect changes
  14. On second look, I like it. But please, someone with highest graphical settings take a few screenshots.
  15. Could someone who have already gave it some testing post some screenshots please? Looking at Nexus, I don't like the insane brightness or shall I say gamma on them. I hope it's just a result of author's graphical settings.
  16. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46932/? I bumped into this purely by accident, and my jaw immediatelly dropped on the floor. According to the author, it's not even a retexture at all, just a mesh change. And apparently it made night and day difference. Can't wait to test it with Better Circlets. I just wonder whether it doesn't conflict with SMIM, but considering how small change it is, I wouldn't think Brumberk "bothered" with it. Anyway, this so goes into my mods. MT Needs Screens for the following: New Jewels for Circlets + Better CircletsThis mod + Better CircletsNew Jewels for Circlets + this mod + Better Circlets Compares. STEP:Extended, no ENB. New compares can be found here
  17. The fire one is weird. It looks like someone slapped it on top of the game. Doesn't fit in very well. Probably too black and too sharp. I like the storm one though.
  18. That guy is resourceful. I really like his work. I am not sure why he didn't make it an update to Dungeons and ruins though. Of course there's no harm in releasing it separately, but... The screenshots look awesome.
  19. That looks interesting, but again, I cannot stress enough how important quality screenshots are. Unfortunately, this is yet another case of completely washed out borderline blurry ones. I mean, even if you don't have powerful PC, you should ramp up the graphic settings to maximum for this purpose. If I simply accidentally ended up on that Nexus page, I'd probably skip the mod thinking it looks like crap.
  20. How does the problem "problem identifier" in MO work? I installed mods exactly in the order STEP lists them, and for some weird reason, suddenly I see warning that say The conflict resolution order for some mods with scripts differs from the corresponding esp. This can lead to subtle, hard to locate bugs. You should re-order the affected mods. The following changes should fix the issue: Move Even Better Quest Objectives after When Vampires Attack Move The Choice is Yours - main file after Even Better Quest Objectives Move The Choice is Yours - Dawnguard after The Choice is Yours - main file (I already have it like that, both of them!!) Move Thieves Guild Requirements after The Choice is Yours - Dawnguard What's even more weird, it only started to show up last night, but I've already had the plugins installed like that since thursday. I don't get it. And I don't get what's wrong.
  21. I think I found it on the Skyrim installation page https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_Installation, possibly with some other broken links, but I am not sure. It's been a few days. Either way, I think there are some bad links too.
  22. 2) Oh that! I didn't think it was compatible with MO. I never used NMM and only heard bad rumours about it.A mess, because I like to organize the mod sources into folders to keep track. This is obviously impossible with current MO downloads implementation. I do not like tons of files in one place.GSDFan Wrote'GSDFan''64810''1390631711' If a mod has multiple ESPs, like winter is coming cloaks, you can highlight the ones you don't need and move them to the optional section. That way only one ESP will be loaded.3) I get it now. I got confused by the wording, and maybe the two sections of the tab placement. Available should really be called "active". Thank you both. So much stuff to learn all the time.
  23. Great, thank you. However, the second link opens the "Introduction" tab of the guide, which, looking at the address (https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:DDSopt_%26_Texture_Overhauls#tab.3DUsing_DDSopt ), seems wrong. The first link is probably old, and redirects to the guide anyway, so it's probably ok.
  24. So 1) is normal and I don't need to worry about it at all? (would be nice to have this in the MO wiki guide) Weird thing is that some (very few) mods eventually started to display a version. I have no idea how did it happen though. How do I download a mod through MO? All I can see is a big icon in the main menu which is completely useless and simply opens Nexus in the browser. I've just figured out the downloads folder. However, it's kind of useless, because I like to sort the mods into folder structure based on the STEP list. Apparently, MO requires the files to be all in one big pile. Ouch. Guess I will try to file another feature request. I found one more thing I don't quite understand. 3) When I open mod's properties, there is a tab "optional ESPs". What does that do?
  25. 1) Why are some of the plugins listed in bold+italics? I couldn't find this anywhere in the wiki. 2) 90%+ of all the mods I have installed do not show correct version. Instead I see a date in red colour there. What's going on? I do have Nexus account credentials set so I thought MO would download relevant info... Checking for updates doesn't help.
