  1. Can you please make a non-ELE version of the Combined plugin?
  2. What STEP texture mods are you guys replacing this with?
  3. A fellow user named Solmyr have pointed out OneTweak was the culprit. One needs to edit OneTweak.ini changing BWMode = 1 to BWMode = 2.
  4. Does anyone have an idea why whould ENBoost (that is, the game itself with ENBoost) suddenly stop launching? I followed the instructions at https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost#tab=Recommendations to the point and the game just won't load past the unresponsive small black Skyrim window (the one you used to get after the community uncapper splash screen; that is, the main screen won't load at all). Might some Steam update be culprit?
  5. Ummm... This may sound stupid, but could someone please remind me what should this patch enable a guy with a 1 Gb VRAM card and hopelessly dimished ambitions for extensive texture and script mods do? Install more 2K textures instead of 1K only? Run more scripted mods?
  6. The funny thing is, after all these unsuccessful attempts at running mempatch, ENBoost stopped working for me altogether, with exactly the same symptoms. The game won't load at all. So there's definitely something fishy about ENBoost, I just can't figure out what broke it. The inis are out-of-the-box and appropriate, so there's nothing wrong here. P.S. And I'm running a proper Steam version.
  7. A bit of background: I have never been able to use ENBoost successfully. At default settings it made my system stutter when looking anywhere except at the ground. With ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false the stuttering was gone, but it clearly introduced its own CTDs. No amount of VideoMemorySizeMb or even ReservedMemorySizeMb tweaking changed it. But I was thoroughly surprised that, given the positive feedback, I was utterly unable to run this mempatch along with ENBoost at all! The game simply won't start (couldn't even get to the title screen). Fiddling with MemBlock2 didn't help. But removing ENBoost did! I was under the impression that ENBoost was a prerequisite. I have a 1 Gb VRAM card and 8 Gb of RAM on Win7x64, by the way. And have long abandoned the ambition to run 2K+ texture packs. All I am looking for is increased stability (my CTDs were very like the cell transition ones mempatch promised to cure).
  8. What about the materials renamed? They affect items only, while dialogue lines still refer to them by Vanilla names.
  9. Too bad the mod author says he's not quite good at maths to implement any kind of image stabilisation. Perhaps someone could lend a hand?
  10. Difficult to judge the second picture in that light, as shadows themselves break the pattern up. Plain diffused daylight would serve better.
  11. Still, the 'diamond' pattern is very noticeable. The distant fir trees look like pine-cones! Wouldn't it be better to spread snow more evenly?
  12. The spirals are slightly less distinctive, but still visible. Human eye is, unfortunately, very good at picking up patterns. Perhaps there should be more snow nearer to the trunk to normalize the dark/light pattern? Otherwise it's essentially the same diamond/spiral pattern.
  13. Sorry I wasn't able to find the relevant discussion, but what is the reasoning behind choosing Ars Metallica over Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade and Updated?
  14. :) Anyway - to get back on topic, this mod appears interesting from a non-Requiem point of view - it would make alchemy etc.. have more to do and be more immersive looking for special ingredients for that powerful brew. Yes, and max out your Alchemy skill brewing a couple of potions :)
  15. Isn't it rather similar to Alchemy and Food Balanced Overhaul https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35124/? (which, in turn, is a rework of Phitts Alchemy and Food Overhaul)? Except that this new mod's author did not care to tweak the prices.
  16. All right. What about the fundamental question, then - is there really a RAM limit issue with Skyrim, in parallel with the VRAM one? And, if so, how might EMBoost affect it (isn't it specifically aimed at 'freeing' VRAM by using more RAM)?
  17. Just to make sure: you're saying downgrading texture replacers would bring down my RAM (not merely VRAM) usage?
  18. I seem to be encountering RAM-related CTDs (if such thing exists). With VRAM-related CTDs being the prevalent subject of discussions, I was unable to find sufficient info on my particular subject. I'm running Skyrim on a 8Gb x64 Win7 system, so I thought RAM shouldn't be a problem. I am, however, limited by 1 Gb VRAM. Skyrim Performance Monitor shows I get RAM consumption jumping to aroung 2,4 Gb prior to the crashes, so I figured it must be the cause. There is ENBoost thrown into the mix, mind you. I expect by its very design it must be directly involved in RAM issues. Any ideas or, at least, general guidance on lowering RAM footprint?Â
  19. Hi there! Started a new playthrough, a couple of new mods. Getting these sorts of glitches around Whiterun (see attachment). For starters, is this a known kind of glitch (i.e., a faulty mesh or something)?
