I would caution you that it is the STEP policy to not share files without the authors permission on these forums.

Sorry for the late reply. I would say yes to this. In the original release by Tannin I had problems with changing the other folders, sorry I don't remember what they were, and I have never changed them after that. I can't remember if I changed the "Base Directory' first as I did not take notes. I tried to imply that with "\GAME_NAME\FOLDER_NAME" without listing all of the folder names. I got this a few times yesterday while running a few utilities through MO2.0.8.1 with FO4. Most of the time just restarting MO fixed it, but a couple of times I had to do an actual restart of my computer. I have noticed tool process still running in the background as monitored with task manager when this happens. It looks like when they crash they do not close down and any subsequent running of them will not happen until they are closed with task manager. You can try renaming the ModOrganizer folder in the AppData folder and see if this helps you. As far as I know MO does not write to the Windows registry, it only reads from it. MO should be shut down if you try this.

I have never used mklink with MO2 and it works fine for me. I believe that MO in general has problems with symbolic links. Tannin has said in the past that MO should never be run with elevated privileges as it will introduce problems down the road. I am not an expert on Windows, but using a UAC protected named folder outside of the C drive may not be a good idea. I have MO installed on a separate drive along with other programs in "PC Installed programs" folder. By default MO2 uses C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\GAME_NAME\FOLDER_NAME to store related files unless you have changed them in the paths settings. I would only change the Download and Mods items to other places and leave the rest at the default. I tried changing the others when MO2 first came out and had bad results. I took a look at both ModOrganizer.ini files. Did you edit those before posting here or are they the ones from the folders. The reason I ask is they do not look complete and are missing some sections, [settings],[Plugins] and a few others, which would make me think something is messing with ModOrganizers ability to write to these files. Try disabling your Anti Virus/ malware software for a short time and run MO.

My issues encountered with MO v2.0.8.1
GSDFan replied to Edouard25's question in Mod Organizer Support
For Issue 8, If there is no "Bashed Patch xxx.esp" in the file system this will happen. If you make a mod for the bashed patch and it is enabled when WRYE is run it will see it and will be written to the mod. At least in my experience. For issue 9 and 10. Same for Fallout 4 and every time you use LOOT. -
Wrye Bash won't install as an executable in Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to Gruntmaster2000's question in Mod Organizer Support
You may have a corrupt ModOrganizer.ini. I do not know how far along you are in using MO, but you can shut down MO and go into the MO directory and rename ModOrganizer.ini to something else. Caution this will reset MO to a first run condition. If adding wrye does not work you can always restore the old file. I would also make sure that your Anti virus / Maleware software is not getting in the way. -
MO will not write any mods to the data directory. MO uses a Virtual file system, VFS, to present files to the game being run. Going from MNN to MO you do need a clean Data directory for the best experiance.

Wrye Bash won't install as an executable in Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to Gruntmaster2000's question in Mod Organizer Support
What you did should work after hitting the add button. Try restarting MO and even the PC. -
At the bottom center of the left pane you have the drop down of the grouping option set to Nexus IDs. Set it to no groups to get rid of that.

Crash when I reach the main menu when using mod organiser
GSDFan replied to OnlyCyclone's question in Mod Organizer Support
It has been my experience that when this happens, the loading screen shows and the game is about to start transition, that it is an external program on my system. Any program that provides a game overlay like video card OC software, game recording software, FPS counters and the Steam overlay should be suspect. These types of programs provide background processes that inject their own code into the games to provide overlays and in game features. MO now must also hook these too and can cause things to fail. If you have any video card OC software installed, make sure it is not running when you start the game. Another thing to watch for is the practice of stealth install of these types of programs from system peripheral manufacturers. NVidia likes to activate there “Share†feature when Geforce Experience is installed and Logitech has recently bundled Overwolf, an overlay and recording program, with their Logitech gaming software. Bottom line is check your system tray for any programs that do not need to be running and disable anything that provides an in game overlay or recording feature. -
If you are following the STEP guide then you can disregard that message as the install order is the priority order that is needed for the guide. In fact if you followed the MO install guide it has you turn that off in step 5.

That is hard to say what that is. Just a thought though, have you changed any of the paths in MO on settings path tab? I have found that changing the overwrite path from the original default caused problems. Try a new profile without any mods loaded. The logs from username\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Fallout 4\logs would be nice. You can provide fresh ones by deleting what is there and running the game to generate new ones.

Done, I hope you share your findings at some point in time.

If I had just an ounce of what you know about this stuff, I would consider myself smart. You are a pure genius in my book. Thank you for all that you do. -

I could not get it to run from MO as an executable either. -
Adding Skyrim Performance Monitor to MO2
GSDFan replied to tjax323's question in Mod Organizer Support
You need to set the "Skyrim launcher file path" in the Performance monitor to your MO 2 executable. With the performance monitor running and MO closed you press the Launch skyrim button. This starts MO and you run SSE from there. You should then see the monitor update once SSE is running. -
MO 2.08.1 Beta Local Savegames (Skyrim SE)
GSDFan replied to blomstertj's question in Mod Organizer Support
That feature is not working at the moment and may not be developed further. Further development depends on skill of the person of picks this up. -
I am using Def ui with FO4 without any problems. Each mod in MO has its own folder to keep the vanilla data folder clean. It is just a matter of opening that folder to get to the files, barring any file that is overwriting DEF UI. Then you would have to go to the next higher priority mod that is doing the overwrite and modify that.

Wryebash deleted all my DLC's from MO, how do I get them back?
GSDFan replied to znaroks's question in Mod Organizer Support
They are in the right hand pane unchecked and at the bottom. -
Mod Organizer resetting all of its settings upon computer restart.
GSDFan replied to phireblast's question in Mod Organizer Support
The directory where MO is installed may not have admin privilages or your AV software may be deleting ModOrganizer.ini. -
I guess that depends on what you are going to do with it and how much you are willing to spend.

You may have tried to install the file before it fully downloaded or it may be corrupt. If you downloaded it with the "download with manager" button then try to download it through your browser and see what happens.
