ENB started working then it went down hill.

Question

I did all that I was told in the step tutorial(AMD and whatever else before enboost) and it still does not work for me. No CTD, but I get freezing/long load times in the loading screens. I tried everything in forums and whatver else I can find and no solution if anyone can help me out I be so happy to hear to it.

 

Information

 

Skse works, and the memory patch is working as well, and before enb things would load instantly due to my ssd drive. When I add the injector version of enb (I tried both) either it freezes during load/takes longer to load or somehow passes in a rare occurance. Whats wierd is that it worked for the first time than it started to stop working, why?

It would be helpful if you used spoiler tags for the ini files, so the post is less cluttered.

 

Do you get the same kind of issues when you tone down your ugrids to 5?

 

[edit]There seem to be quite some edits in your ini files, are you sure about all of them? There are a quadzillion of harmful ini tweaks.

Also: Your resolution is non standard, maybe something in your system has a problem with that?

Where did you get your skse.ini settings from? A lot more in there than what needs to be from what I can tell.

Okay interesting, when I used vanilla ini files for skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and it working pretty well. So it must be that thats causing the problem.


Most of those ini edits are from the links that step showed, trying to get the most out of the game, I think one of them is causing a error.

You have several edits that I can assure you didn't come from STEP. Our ini edits in the Guide are minimal. Some of those skse.ini edits I've never seen before. I think you're doing too much editing. ::):

I think some of them are bieng added by mod organizer, that or I missed something. Either way its a bit more stable now, going to be more careful with the edits, any suggestions for edits would be greatly be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Unless they're needed by mods, I'd leave them out. Less is better when it comes to ini editing.

Well I think I solved it and it was not what I expected, after doing some changes to skse and ini it was still doing the freeze during load. Than I decided to wait a bit when I start the game, some how that made it work. Maybe its initilization, or whatever, but now I can finally continue step, with a ugrids load of 12 which is pretty stable thanks to the ugrids stable mod.

Ideally your Ugrids should be an odd number. I'd change that to 11, if I were you.

I will do that. As I go through the step mods, it seems to be getting more unstable. FPS is fine, just keeps freezing at loading(with music still playing). Seems to be random too and only if enboost is on. not sure what could be causing that, is it the the ram, ini or some other variable that I have not thought of?

I'd start with the Skyrim ini files. Like I said, there are a lot of harmful ini entries around.

 

You seem to be quite adventurous with your ini settings, it might be a harmful ini setting or it might just be you hitting a memory cap with those large ugrid settings (the huge shadow maps might be contributing too). This is a very good guide, he really really knows what he is talking about:

I'm also curious about the monitor you are using, iSize H =1152, iSize W =2048 is quite unusual.

Its a samsung sync master 2343, its 24 inches. Well with lots of editing I have been able to minimize the infinite loading screen, although it is more frequent when entering the world area.

There are very very VERY few lists that are stable with ugrids 11 and above.... by far most who managed to get a stable list only ever got to 9.. and even then 7 is more of a thing. 

 

Alternatively then use all the fancy mods that improve the LOD details and avoid it alltogether. It cost FAR less in terms of model complexity, and still provides a good middle ground.

      So I'm having this issue where ENB seams to break the "seamless" horizon provided by cathedral weathers. Doesn't seem to matter what ENB I use, no conflicts in Xedit however I have read on a few forums (STEP) that this issue seems to be present no matter what and the more detailed rendering offered by ENB can make this issue more noticeable. Also this definitely seems more prominent during dawn/dusk nor really visible during other times. I'm not sure if it's really a mod issue, or if it's just another one of those fugly bethesda seams that we all inevitably see. ENB doesn't seem to matter I always notice this on clear dawn/dusks. Any input or advice would be appreciated.       STEP does not recommend downloading the Skyrim Nexus version of ENBoost due to incorrect settings for STEP.
      Grab the latest binary from ENB Dev: https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html
       
      Boris's VRAMSizeTest Tool for ENBoost: https://enbdev.com/download_vramsizetest.html
      For Skyrim run the DX9 version. For Windows 7, subtract 170 from the value the tool gives. For Windows 8/10, subtract 305 from the value the tool gives. Set VideoMemorySizeMb in the "Enblocal.ini" file to the resulting value.

      Looks like Boris has pretty much figured out his memory fix and released it on the nexus. I believe you still need ENB and then the file on the nexus is an extra INI that is dependent on your videocard.
