Uollas Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Hello everyone! First, I want to thank you for the wonderful work done with STEP. Modding can be extremely tedious and this guide makes everyone's life so much easier. I have a question about a curious difference I've found in the wiki between various sections. I'm following the guide (https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9) for the first time and I've just installed "The Choice Is Yours". In the reccomendations page (https://wiki.step-project.com/The_Choice_is_Yours#Recommendations) there is a meta rule about "Book Covers Skyrim" so I look for this esp file, but I can't find it. So I notice that, in this guide, this particular mod is not mentioned. Even weirder, in the STEP Extended Patch (https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP_Extended_Patch_Changelog) there is a patch for this mod, with the description "From Book Covers Skyrim - Compatibility Patch Collection: This mod is not included in STEP, but Book Covers Skyrim is" which confuses me even more, since Book Covers Skyrim is not included in STEP. Finally, i look for the first time in the anthology section where this mod should be found (https://wiki.step-project.com/Category:ModSection_K) and, surprised, I see this mod, but also other mods, in this and other sections, which are included in the anthology but not in the guide. At the beginning I thought these mods where just for the extended version of STEP, but this doesn't make sense because the STEP guide includes also the mods for the extended and in the anthology there are even mods which are indicated as "Core" and are not in the guide (e.g., Berenziahs Glory in the aforementioned section). Right now I'm pretty confused and I'd like to know why there are mods not included in the guide and whether I have to add them from the anthology or I have misread something. Thank you very much for everything!
TechAngel85 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 That is because we are currently towards the end of the next release and the Book Covers mod will be added at that time.
Uollas Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Thank you for the clarification! So, could you say it is safe, at the present state, to add the mods found in the anthology to the ones found in the guide? Or should I wait for the complete release before continuing with the modding?
TechAngel85 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It's safe. You can follow the dev guide if you want. You just will not have the up to date STEP Patches.
Uollas Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I suppose that if the patches contain corrections for mods only found in 2.2.9.1 (such as book cover for skyrim), I cannot use them for 2.2.9 either? Edit: or maybe the patch on nexus covers exactly the 2.2.9 guide? Edited April 14, 2015 by Uollas
TechAngel85 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 The patches on Nexus are for the 2.2.9 Guide and nothing else. The 2.2.9.1 patches are only available from our Github until release. You can find it if you search, but I'm not giving out the link unless the other staff agree to it, since we use that account for Dev.
