Shadows on grass - No shadows, black grass (pics within)

Question

Posted

Hi all,

As you can see from the pics below, my grass is weird and black.

Disabling the ENB I found that the grass that was affected by this, was grass that was in shadow.

If you need any more info than that below, please ask.

Thanks, Mix.

First try re-downloading the grass mod. Also make sure you have bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 in your skyrimprefs.ini.

Try looking in the ENB guide to see.

Thanks, I'll try redownloadibg and I'll take a look :)

The shadows on the underside of grass is usually do to the SSAO settings as well as shadows. Have you messed with any of the ENB parameters?

Nothing out of the ordinary. I altered the memory settings, water parallax, vsync, borderless window and God ray length, nothing to do with SSAO or shadows though. I'll try the default enblocal/series files when I get home.

Thanks for your reply.

My guess its what tech said... It happens with some ENB profiles and especially with fog present

Hmm, thinking about it I've never had this problem when using other ENBs.. And the times I have noticed this issue it's been foggy..

I'll cycle through some weathers and see when this issue happens.

Thanks :)

EDIT: If it's worth noting, I'm using NLA.esp from confidence man

UPDATE: Yeah this is a fog issue. I tried various other weathers and it was fine, shadows displaying as they should.

Thanks Dragon King + hishutup for your help in narrowing down the cause of the issue :)

If this becomes too annoying, I might look at other presets, thanks again :)

UPDATE: Just tried another ENB and the issue is no longer present :)
