Well, I am finally sick of that mod, is by far uber annoying. It's a great idea, but I don't like how it's implemented. I stumbled upon this mod while digging through nexus for a replacement https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49784/?

It sounds really promising with it's ideas. I saw that it has conflicts with Dual Sheath Redux and any equipment that uses slots 44 49 54 56 and/or 60, which I believe the survival gear in wet and cold uses on or more of them. Plus I have a couple of other mods that do use some of these slots. But, the conflict is only present in the alpha build, which has quite a few bugs and problems that need worked out. The stable version doesn't have these conflicts fortunately. So I am about to check this out and see how it does. But I wanted to ask if anyone already has a replacement they use, or know of a mod that achieves atleast something like drop lit torches, but better?

If anyone is curious as to what I don't like about it, I don't like having to dual equip just to pick the stupid torch back up. I can't even count how often I forget that I have to do that and then sit there and play with a damn torch either wanting to be in my hand or the ground before realizing that I have to dual equip to put it back in my inventory.

Slink

If you are going to use EO, I'd recommend using the stable version rather than the buggy alpha. But honestly, Equipping Overhaul could be described as a mod that was abandonned in a beta stage, so even with the "stable" version, you might encounter some issues.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. Yeah I was getting that feeling as I read everything and how long it's been in a beta, plus the author saying months ago that he left unexpectedly than came back, and is looking like he may be gone again. But, I felt since he has it setup as modular, I thought it could be worth a look. Really not finding anything to replace drop lit torches. Supposing that I will have to just drop the mod and the idea altogether if this mod falls flat. So, I guess that just means I'll have to rely more on using the magelight spell to see in the dark, only thing I hate about it, is the light source is just soooo bright it becomes annoying as well. Guess you trade one problem for another, lol.

The 3.13 version of Equipping Overhaul works well alongside Dual Sheath Redux. It is modular and controllable through MCM, so if you only want the drop lit torches piece you can control that. I like the realistic equipping, if I switch from my bow to my claymore in the heat of battle (in other words without using the "R" key to "sheath" the bow then switch to the greatsword then draw the greatsword) my bow drops to the ground (I recommend activating the "power" option for retrieval, dropping gear takes some getting used to & this failsafe will allow you to "summon" your last dropped item for easy pick up). The bugginess in my experience happens when spells get into the mix, I've had a bow appearing in my hand when not equipped or spontaneuosly dropping from my inventory when opening a chest depending on the order things happened. All things considered I'm happy enough with the 3.13 version of the mod to keep using it.

Tried it, and I to am enjoying this mod and some of its functions, I think I'll keep this around for awhile. That realistic unequip, I agree is really nice for switching from a bow to my sword and shield on the fly.

This is for you: Simple Drop Lit Torches

Nice find btw. I am happy with the function provided in realist unequip overhaul, but seeing how it is totally modular, I think I might deactivate it just so I can see how this pans out. Thanks for the responses all, been really helpful.
